The new saw you've acquired, with the 4 splayed legs is, to me, a contractor saw. Those little saws that fold up are folding saws, and the ones with a closed pedestal base are cabinet saws. My nomenclature is probably regional and outdated.
Yea, mine folds. It could be our vocabulary. Mine may be more of a job site saw that folds for transportation vs a contractor saw. I know I need something suited for heavier work.
I know the feeling. My contractor saw was insufficient once I moved from construction work to hobby lumber processing, so I made a heavier, wider pedestal base for it. Folded the motor mount to beneath the saw, so that it enclosed the motor. And upgraded to a link belt. That got me stability for the extra long fence rails, and dust collection. Then after several years I upgraded the 3/4hp 120v motor to 2 or 3hp 240v.
Even a long piece that big will test my hybrid cabinet saw's stability. I always cut it down as much as possible on the chop saw before running it. Esp as that big always has some tension. A long time ago i poured concrete into plastic storage containers and embedded a rope in them so i had reusable weights to use in a pickup bed for traction in snow. That was 20 years ago and i still have them sitting outside for whenever i need weight. I'd hang them on the side legs of your saw or go so far as putting 2 anchors on the forward feet. A table saw flipping over you pushing that size wood is not something i'd ever want to see.

Miss Lily grabbed my 066 and started making chainsaw noises at the top of her lungs and I just couldn’t resist taking a picture of that. This one will be making an appearance later in her life at some point
As a parent I couldn’t be prouder of her. She is a kind, hardworking compassionate little thing and has never shown an ounce of shame when I try to embarrass her. I picked her up from school in a tractor this fall and asked her if anyone teased her. She said “well yeah but I’m sure it’s because they’re all jealous !!” Oh kiddo you make my heart smile

What am I looking at? I have a similar style drain plug on the Jeep, and I can see the advantage of using a hose, but why does it go up?Camry oil change. Over 5000 miles since end of September. I believe you are looking at 2 hoses, one from the oil pan drain and the second from the Toyota oil filter canister drain.

I purchased this when it was one sale a few months ago, it has become indispensable for me due to my disability. I got the chest on the table and brought it up high enough to install the legs, laid it on its side and installed the bottom tray. Once everything was tightened down I rolled it to the door into the house and was able to raise it up and bring the cart into the house alone.
I need this type of drain hose on my 87 T-van oil filter... The filter is also pointed in the wrong direction for servicing! I like to fill the filter prior to installing...
