Ever buy something preemptively? Then can’t find them when needed??
Saw these cables for a couple bucks at a thrift shop. Knowing I dabble in vintage electronics, I picked them up.
Just as well, because I picked up this 5 disc cd/dvd changer for $10 at a thrift shop. So I hooked it up to the Onkyo and listened to some tunes. It works! The CD portion does. I bet the dvd does as well. I haven’t tried it out yet
Got a free TV from a coworker because the screen has a dead spot. Not really a worry on a garage tv that sees extreme swings in temps. Hung it up and it’s worse than I thought. But the size fits perfect for the spot. So I’ll be on the lookout for another one.
All in all, I don’t think this is a bad setup.
TV-Free
Onkyo-Free
CD player-$10
RCA Cables-$2
HDMI cable-$15(?)
Less than $30 and I have surround sound (speakers around the upper perimeter of the garage) and the ability to play DVD’s hopefully. Not a necessity, just cool, nonetheless. Especially because the internet isn’t wholly reliable out there for YouTube. I do have a “pod” from my ISP that is supposed to extend the signal, but still prepared for no signal.
Not a bad day out there, really.
