To add to the Beach mysteries, there is also an eight drawer box out there, see the first picture. No other info on file.

There appears to be another version of that full size intermediate step up box that does sit on top of the rollers, see second picture.

I recently found a full size step up box that I put on top of an addressograph box (blue) that I had, it fit OK, so did not notice the square corner conflict.

LOL! That is my 8-drawer box! That’s the configuration I bought with the full-sized mid. I read somewhere it was called the B28. I have two other Beach boxes that were not shown in the pictures above. That 8-drawer, and a Beach made Craftsman mid that is immaculate.

To your second point, that is a square-cornered Mastercraft. The full-sized mid has no problem on those.

I have never seen the side cantilever in the wild (nice get!). I’d love to have one, same with the side box.

1980's, the front cover slides under the bottom tray or you can just pull it out, it's not fixed in any way apart from when you lock it, I have a crappy cover somewhere, easier out of the way as I use this box a lot.

Metric and A/F

lift out tray, underneath is extras not in the tray just something I've done using EVA foam mats.

This is sort of a toolbox, that I acquired a few years back. I asked Canada Sandpapers in Plattsville (Ontario) about it but never heard back from them. It appears to be "one of a kind". Anybody seen another one?
I remember someone posting pictures of something similar somewhere.. I think it was for storing abrasive paper in a car body workshop.

Hmmm, you may regret asking that, just spent an hour pulling tool boxes out, nice an cool inside today so I'm going to inundate you and let my sore back recover. :)
Thanks for posting the pics, we don't see much Sidcrome stuff. Interesting series of posts for me to look through on new year's morning and the weather here too foul to want to go outside! Hope your back recovers enough to put all those boxes away again:oops:

1999 Sidchrome Proto, user not a correct setup, I need to find or make some hooks at some stage for some open end spanners.

31"+35"+3 1/2"
SAM_4224.JPGSAM_4225.JPG Has the correct Proto hammer and I have been looking for the Proto Hex keys. The combo spanners, 1/4 set, 1/2 sockets and tools are the correct Sidchrome Proto

Whilst on the subject of wall cabinet style of tool boxes, I always like to refer to H O Studley, just in case there's anyone who hasn't seen it already.

Hmm... That swivel jaw vise top left corner seems to be missing it's pin. Probably hiding in one of those drawers.

Absolutely stunning and my personal favorite. I take it Sidchrome is Australian?
Yes Australian, 1940's to now, owned by Stanley since 1993, made overseas since 1998, I just like the Aus made stuff and Proto,

That one is my fav and a keeper, just opens/shuts easy, has key, and don't have to worry about marking it. I have a really good example that is maybe 80/90 % complete and I get concerned every time I add something to it, a 45 year old, badically unmarked paint-too much hassle and will sell at some stage ( like in 30 years :) )

You have a lot to be proud of on that one. Not saying the other examples aren't equally nice but that 1970's cabinet would be something I would have to find space for at my house. I appreciate your sharing your boxes.

Back to your point that we do not see a whole lot of wall cabinets in the US. Just a theory that US garages are typically larger and so they have more floor space. Whereas Australian and Germany (I also love some Hazet wall cabinets) have a smaller footprint. Just a theory and as mentioned above, you do see Craftsman's example that was designed for homeowners. My .02.

1980's, Metric and A/F, fairly rare being a 4 drawer, most are 3 with some 2 drawers, I use EVA foam in my toolboxes, as it is cheap and usable, Normally all I do is a clean, oil and polish. And use a rust gel on the chrome that doesn't affect paint to clean up the latches-they all arrive rusty.

‘As for Canada Sand Papers Limited, it was bought by Carborundum Abrasives in 1950, which was in turn bought by the Norton Company in 1985. Canada Sand Papers' "Diamond Grit" trademark, first registered in Canada in 1931, has expired.’

A man who collects toolboxes and vises. We have similar tastes.:)
Mainly been doing vices for the last couple of years, like their simplicity and hunting down the history. And keep my eye out for Sidchrome but the prices are horrendous now so I don't buy much, I do have a few of the smaller socket boxes, most of the excess tools I have will be going back in them when I finish doing them up.

Uh and yeah, I've gone a tad overboard with the vices as well :) Mostly Australian made Dawn

Thought I'd end on a high note, Early 1980's very good condition (same as the poor one posted earlier), mostly complete with the correct tools, missing a few of the rarer high priced tools which I have no intention to get unless I come across at a good price.
Portable bottom tray.

Another excellent example. However, and I know you'll get this... rounded corners are just sexier.
Yes, this is a keeper thou, it's cute, I have a set of polished 22 series as new spanners (really nice to use-just feel right) to go back in it, I've just been reorganising with 3 new display cabinets so haven't got around to it yet.

TheRealZeus,

Does this Aussie know how to collect?!!!
I like having something to do :), started during covid, at least I saw someone every day, LOL the posty would be dropping off stuff 7 days a week during that time, And I couldn't afford to buy now as the Aussie made Sidchrome prices have skyrocketed.
