For that era I'd be looking at MBC for those two. MBC made boxes for SO, but the own were slightly different.
To add to the Beach mysteries, there is also an eight drawer box out there, see the first picture. No other info on file.
There appears to be another version of that full size intermediate step up box that does sit on top of the rollers, see second picture.
I recently found a full size step up box that I put on top of an addressograph box (blue) that I had, it fit OK, so did not notice the square corner conflict.
Hmmm, you may regret asking that, just spent an hour pulling tool boxes out, nice an cool inside today so I'm going to inundate you and let my sore back recover. Can you snap some photos of these open? those are sweet!

I remember someone posting pictures of something similar somewhere.. I think it was for storing abrasive paper in a car body workshop. This is sort of a toolbox, that I acquired a few years back. I asked Canada Sandpapers in Plattsville (Ontario) about it but never heard back from them. It appears to be "one of a kind". Anybody seen another one?
Thanks for posting the pics, we don't see much Sidcrome stuff. Interesting series of posts for me to look through on new year's morning and the weather here too foul to want to go outside! Hope your back recovers enough to put all those boxes away againHmmm, you may regret asking that, just spent an hour pulling tool boxes out, nice an cool inside today so I'm going to inundate you and let my sore back recover.![]()

Has the correct Proto hammer and I have been looking for the Proto Hex keys. The combo spanners, 1/4 set, 1/2 sockets and tools are the correct Sidchrome Proto
Yes Australian, 1940's to now, owned by Stanley since 1993, made overseas since 1998, I just like the Aus made stuff and Proto,Absolutely stunning and my personal favorite. I take it Sidchrome is Australian?
You have a lot to be proud of on that one. Not saying the other examples aren't equally nice but that 1970's cabinet would be something I would have to find space for at my house. I appreciate your sharing your boxes.Yes Australian, 1940's to now, owned by Stanley since 1993, made overseas since 1998, I just like the Aus made stuff and Proto,
That one is my fav and a keeper, just opens/shuts easy, has key, and don't have to worry about marking it. I have a really good example that is maybe 80/90 % complete and I get conerned every time I add something to it, a 45 year old, badically unmarked paint-too much hassle and will sell at some stage ( like in 30 years)

‘As for Canada Sand Papers Limited, it was bought by Carborundum Abrasives in 1950, which was in turn bought by the Norton Company in 1985. Canada Sand Papers' "Diamond Grit" trademark, first registered in Canada in 1931, has expired.’This is sort of a toolbox, that I acquired a few years back. Mainly been doing vices for the last couple of years, like their simplicity and hunting down the history. And keep my eye out for Sidchrome but the prices are horrendous now so I don't buy much, I do have a few of the smaller socket boxes, most of the excess tools I have will be going back in them when I finish doing them up.A man who collects toolboxes and vises. We have similar tastes.![]()
Yes, this is a keeper thou, it's cute, I have a set of polished 22 series as new spanners (really nice to use-just feel right) to go back in it, I've just been reorganising with 3 new display cabinets so haven't got around to it yet.Another excellent example. However, and I know you'll get this... rounded corners are just sexier.
And the winner appears. That gave me a chubby. Wow.
Thanks for posting. I’ve been searching for a Remline, this will fuel the odyssey. Here is one ref catalog for the Remline chest… She is nice to, Man.
