Just a heads-up.........

1) If the motor is 3 phase, it'll work just fine. Slamming a 3Ø motor in the other direction while it is running is called 'plugging'. Perfectly fine for most motors.

2) If it's a basic standard single phase motor, swapping 5 & 8 (the start winding) while it's running won't make it reverse. The motor needs to be going slow enough (or stopped) that the start winding is engaged in order to make it change direction. Instant-reverse single phase motors are available but they need to be built this way from the factory.

Thanks
Yes it is 3 phase.
It has a 5 position hand/drum switch on it. LF, HF OFF, LR, HR.
It also had 2 micro switches on the quill and a busted up plastic enclosure on the front to auto reverse.
That added a lot of wires and junk hanging all over it - which I never liked the looks of.
I had him remove the micro switches and give me one foot switch. Also move the main and reversing contacters into a single enclosure which is now up top and facing the back and not in your face like it was.
I mounted the enclosure so it will swivel to the side if you need to work in it.
He'll be back to finish on Friday.

Well I do have a Uvex Bionic full face shield, need to stop hanging it up high but now on gonna be just above my main work bench that’s front and Center. Welding helmet is to be right above it. Cleanliness will be be priority one to boot. Lens cleaners, eye wash bottle…..Safeties with foam will be a lot more prevalent. This was not fun last night! I had to apologize to Michelle several times after.

This tarp is hanging behind the wire wheel at work. I will only use that wheel with a face shield, I always have prescrition safety glasses on at work.

Havent been keeping on my GJ lately. Trying to lay low to keep from messing up my repaired shoulder. I did finish assembling my tool cart and cleared it's spot at the end of the garage workbench. Now to clear off said workbench.
Hauled a load off to the dump. Car is that packed all the way to the windshield. Thank goodness for backup cameras.

Finished the skylight project, filling holes on the wainscotting, and block sanding ceiling to match the texture of the existing ceiling that remained. Just prepping for paint. The top picture shows this area of the kitchen in the project we bought before we began. We flipped the kitchen 180 degrees. Soon, the eat in area which was formerly the outdated cooking area will be done! I know it's not in the garage, but that white door is to the attached garage so it counts!IMG_9889.jpeg

Took the sled out and had spray foam installed on the walls finally, Garage was setup as a music studio befor with 4 layers of drywall and doors were never opened since it was built by previous owner. converting it over to a woodworking shop and still have room to park the truck inside if I want to. Just in time for -28c temps to roll in again, got lucky temps rose to almost 0c just in time for spray foam to get installed luckily.

You are planning on insulating the attic? Like 90% of heat loss is through the ceiling.

Got the all the holes lined up with the studs from the seat of my scooter and nuts wrench tight.
Now making final adjustments prior to tack welding.
Because I am working with the odds and ends from my small collection of steel I may have to continue to modify my lack of design to make my project more rigid.
My idea is to make the mount for the cargo box on my scooter more rigid while still keeping within a Zero Budget.

And I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain?
Cody, one of the first 33rpm records my father played on his new Grundig Majestic HiFi was "The Happy Wanderer:"

I love to go a-wandering,
Along the mountain track,
And as I go, I love to sing,
My knapsack on my back!
Valderi, Valdera!
Valderi, Valdera-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
Valdera!
My knapsack on my back!

I now have a brainworm singing that song in my head.

Sorta outside the garage... and by 'outside the garage', I mean in my office. Where it's warm.

Anywhooo.... I somehow managed to get an Amcrest security camera working on the Unifi NVR using their most recent firmware that allows for 3rd party cameras.

The camera will eventually be mounted outside the garage, which makes the news relevant to this thread.
