I definitely wasn’t expecting those in this price range and the screwdriver handle was a real good hint they weren’t heavy duty.

Before making my post I only played with one of them. The quick release feature was insanely notchy and the screw clamp rough which I’m sure some lube will take care of ( hopefully).

But after posting I grabbed the other model and it worked very smooth. I’ll **** around with them in a couple days and see how it goes.
Link to where you bought them,?
I only have about 200 clamps, but none of the Kant Twist style. 🤣

Well, it isn’t new, but I finally found the Kennedy cantilever toolbox on eBay that I have been wanting. It’s very sturdy and holds my larger wrenches and miscellaneous tools.

With spring around the corner, I should be set to do on-site truck and tractor repair more efficiently this year.

Wasted hours spent looking for tools is a pain. So, hopefully being more organized will help. I also found the red metal toolbox for sockets and ratchets on eBay.

The whole set comprises almost every size socket and wrench in 1/16” denominations, with 2 / 1/16” being the largest.

Ya good luck. Btw they forgot to send my $7.00 tig holder. Guess I should let them know.

I really could use one of these but I just can't justify the cost. Most I see are $100 or more.
This one is $99. But it is very sturdy. The legs and Support are very solid. It's not flimsy. The only knock some people give is that the casters are only 2 inch instead of 4 inch, but I have race deck in my shopping garage and it rolls over it just fine. I considered $99 to be a fair price

I picked up a pair of these cheaper LED lights off Amazon [$16 for a pair] because I sometimes have a need for a light with a magnetic base. USB rechargeable and the magnet on the base is strong enough for what I need. These came from my Amazon add-on list when I need a few extra bucks to get free shipping.

These compact, magnetic work lights provide bright, long-lasting illumination with multiple modes. Great for mechanics, home repairs, and more. Check it out on Amazon now!

I’ve become the bike repair person for several kids in my neighborhood. I had some real struggles with one repair last week, and a set of cone wrenches would have made it a lot easier.

I am ready for the next time.

I’m seriously thinking about getting back into working on bikes and scooters. I’m just not enjoying the car scene as much as I thought so far. Everything around here falls into three categories: wannabe JDM but best I can do is a clapped out Miata/Civic with Alibaba stick-ons 20-somethings, the I’m so loaded I bought that late ‘60s and early ‘70s muscle car and have someone else do all the work while I sleep with my hot wife and run the financial office GenXer, or Trucks, Trump, and God, Y’all folks. I miss the bike community even if some of them can be a bit preachy and Oak Park-y.

Couple of new tools for me. A KC Tool order for some NWS pliers and some odds-and-ends. Love the Softgripp multi-component handles more than anything I’ve had so far pliers-wise. The Wera 3/8” 11mm is for work to help round out my set. I don’t use a ton of sockets at work and when I do it’s usually something I’m running on/off with my hands so the Wera knurling comes up big in those situations. Not loving the Gedore wrench adapter. The retention ring is loose as all hell and it’s a PITA to get into my ratcheting wrench.

Snap-on picks for the house. Love the pink hard handle and it helped round-up my balance for a winter jacket promo.

Dewalt cordless vacuum is a godsend now that my kid has entered toddlerhood. The fight with crumbs is finally inching in my favor.

Picked up some random odds and ends off Amazon.sa:

New old stock (2003 packing date) of the 6 piece deep offset metric box wrench set. Has a part number of 8101CM and cost was $50. Has the vinyl roll. Most interesting was that Amazon.sa has only been around 5 years. 🤷🏼

Malco Eagle Grip LP10R in a nice box for $24.

Set of Mayhew punches for $8.

Proto 1/2" drive pear head ratchet (J5449BL) for $58.

Have you tried the new Knipex comfort grips? I wasn't a big fan of their old design, but they've recently changed it and I'll try it soon. I also like the NWS comfort grips, but I have some dipped handles also.

What are these new Knipex grips?

They have the smooth almost slippery plastic handles, the textured cushion like grip, and the fatter thicker rubber handles.

Minus the Astro torque-saver impact extensions and another style rivet nut tool that I'm still waiting on, this is my last tool arrival for a good while. It's the replacement for my Dewalt DCF961; Team Red and the M18 2967-21F with the 6.0 FORGE battery.

The DCF961 really is a 3/4 drive tool with a 1/2" drive end. It definitely has the beans. Really too much for what I am needing it for so with the battery issues I am having with it, I decided to try the Milwaukee while I send the Dewalt out for repair.

Nothing fancy:

Just a new tungsten sharpening rig. 15, 20, 30, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 degrees and 6 different tungsten diameters!

I'm tired of trying to eyeball my angles on an angle grinder disk or bench grinder.
Where’d you pick that up from BH and have you tried it yet. I could use a dummy blind person version myself

It's a lot of what feels like nicely machined aluminum for the price. I only use 3/32" 'trodes, so some of the functionality is wasted on me.

I'm about to install it on the Dremel and give it a try!

I had another, cheaper one, but quickly realized it didn't have any angles that I actually use (15, 30, 55, mostly).

Here's the tungsten sharpener in action:

54306082805_f9bc242d9d_b.jpg

Easy to mount.

54305644831_d689b64b9d_b.jpg

The 'trode fits perfectly--any tighter and it wouldn't turn.

54306082810_b25dc3ea2f_b.jpg

Scratch pattern is perfectly aligned with the tip, as I was taught it should be.

For $40, it sure ain't no Piranha, but it was about $900 less. I need to rig up a dust collection port for it--simple enough, as the end is open.

Been looking for a heavy vise for some time. Finally got one at a price I didn't mind paying. A Ludell 6, came with a set of aluminum soft jaws. Vise, easy to move at maybe 60 lbs. The stand? Woof. Weighs a bit over 200lbs. Vise its in decent shape, the stand is stellar. Going to keep this thing on the dolly until I find proper location for it.

Like most auction lots, there were bits and pieces of shop junk on the stand when I picked it up. What I believe are a couple of Bellows Hydro-Check actuators, plus some other hydraulic bits and pieces. Dont have a use for any of the hydraulic bits today so they'll go into storage.

No, I keep receiving the older multi-component handles with all my new Knipex orders. I’m also eager to try the new handles. I saw a review that noted the new 3 component grips are eerily similar in feel to the NWS softgripp.

A set of 10 security (hole in the middle) pentagonal bits. A 1/2" drive plain 10mm pentagonal driver. I have no use case for these yet but if I do encounter a pentagonal fastener, I will be ready. ;)

Wera 4+6 & 3+5mm bit. The smaller hex on both ends is spring loaded. This one bit will take the place of four individual hex bits in my small Wera cycle kit, freeing up three spaces for other bits.

My zoro order arrived , shipped direct to me from Gedore Germany.
Paid a whopping $61 incl tax&sipping

I have no interest in keeping this set like this as I have a more extensive set with these sockets , a breaker bar etc etc. I was mainly interested in the ratchet and the pouch.
Im taking the sockets from Gedore red 1/4 set I have , with the other Gedore 1/4 stuff I have , t handle , nut driver etc and turning it into a set. This is the layout plan before I cut the foam to fit inside.

Ill then be taking the ratchet from this set and placing it with a Gedore 12 pt set I have to make a Gedore no skips 8-34mm set that ive been grabbing pieces for. Ive recently found 1/4 sets rather useful around the house and the interior of the car so figured I'd try start making a nice one to use as I've always had an " anything will do " attitude when it came to 1/4 sets so it wqs time i got something a little better.
