Us kids used to shift for dad when we were young, didn't realize till I did the same with my kids how hard it is to clutch for someone else shifting.@Fixr , Australia and Florida agreed I shouldn't be driving a manual with one hand. I did rent a van in New Zealand to do the touristy thing with four of our friends. Rental vans down there are all manual. I did the pedals and steering (with my required spinner mounted) while my autocross buddy rowed the stick. We got it down to perfect synchronization. Being ancient, I wonder how many 3-pedal fans would feel about driving a car in stop-and-go traffic with a completely non-synchromesh manual transmission. I vividly remember shifting one without using the clutch except to start or stop. It's a fun thing to learn but not so fun to live with every day.
As a teenager I did learn to double clutch (Muncie needed synchros) and it came in handy later when I tried to drive a 31 Chevy from Phoenix to LA. Oil pump died early and had to trailer it back home.
Also had fun learning to power shift my friends Bronco with 3 on the tree.
