@Fixr , Australia and Florida agreed I shouldn't be driving a manual with one hand. I did rent a van in New Zealand to do the touristy thing with four of our friends. Rental vans down there are all manual. I did the pedals and steering (with my required spinner mounted) while my autocross buddy rowed the stick. We got it down to perfect synchronization. Being ancient, I wonder how many 3-pedal fans would feel about driving a car in stop-and-go traffic with a completely non-synchromesh manual transmission. I vividly remember shifting one without using the clutch except to start or stop. It's a fun thing to learn but not so fun to live with every day.
Us kids used to shift for dad when we were young, didn't realize till I did the same with my kids how hard it is to clutch for someone else shifting.

As a teenager I did learn to double clutch (Muncie needed synchros) and it came in handy later when I tried to drive a 31 Chevy from Phoenix to LA. Oil pump died early and had to trailer it back home.

Also had fun learning to power shift my friends Bronco with 3 on the tree.

Kinda a permanent temporary arrangement lmao

A couple few weeks back, I picked up this roll of speaker wire from goodwill for $3.99. Half a 250’, so about 125’ or so. IMG_5420.jpeg

Since I “upgraded” speakers in the house, I could put the Onkyo speaker back on the Onkyo in the garage. So I hung up the surround left and the front left. IMG_5588.jpeg

I know it’s sloppy, but goal accomplished. Speakers out of my living room, and hung up. I’ll route the speaker wire better later (when it’s not 40° in there lmao) as there is (or at least SHOULD BE, plenty of slack.

Also may have figured out the shutdown/safe mode issue on the Onkyo. With the front left hung up, I moved the front right up to get it off the receiver so it doesn’t overheat. IMG_5587.jpegIMG_5590.jpeg

I guess I’m spoiled with the house setup. This setup, while the surround is PHENOMENAL, it lacks bottom end. So I guess I will have to buy 2 matching subs for the house set up (7.2) and move the single sub from the house to the garage. Meh.

Hurry up and warm up, weather! I wanna play music, BBQ, and wrench on my truck already!!!!!!

Hung this new fan that a local municipality was throwing away. Yes new! never used or mounted and headed to the dumpster. Also unloaded this jet bandsaw from the same municipality as it was headed to the dumpster as well. I need to clean it up but the guys in their welding shop told me it works great it just never got used anymore so they were gonna chunk it. Government waste is my best friend.

Drilled the Drain Holes in the Planter Box I assembled yesterday, assembled still another Planter Box.
The neighbor from across the alley dropped in and told me how happy she is with the box I built for her last year; I did not want to charge her for it, as a compromise I let her pay me for the materials.
My Fitness Trainer came to the Workshop and led me through a workout; if it was up to me I wouldn't exercise, but because I pay him I put my work in.

Went out to the garage to get some tapcons because I couldn’t find them in the basement. When I went back to the basement to grab a few 1900 boxes to mount on the basement wall, I found the tapcons in the basement. 10 minutes later, I found two more boxes of tapcons in the basement.

Apparently I need to spend a bit more time organizing.

Saw stand on wheel and roll it under the shelf?
The saw actually has two wheels on the back, but has to be tipped to use them. It came out to cut a piece of wood, and fit back into its old home even with the new shelf for now. All the stuff from the old shelf needs to find a home on the new one tomorrow.

@XJSuperman Have my grandfathers old Cman saw a match to yours. I cut a rectangle of plywood and mounted it between the 4 locking swivel casters and the saw base. It provides storage space, for spare blades etc, and being it swivels it will rotate in its own footprint. Made many things over time. A piece of pegboard on the side provides space to push tools as well.

tidy it up little more when I am out there and make more mental notes……

want a bigger beer fridge (more so for the freezer.
must extend 220 plug over to the side box for easier access……
TV be nice but not a necessity…..rather have smaller speakers though.
Gotta figure out the height of the Stripe that’s gonna go around the perimeter. Decided white uppers, dark/medium grey lower and bright orange stripe.

once height is figured out then I can start on my side work bench as I want a back splash on it, nothing major but somehing to keep stuff from falling behind.

Day trip to the big city then 3 days off to do whatever I plan, I really should pick up a sheet of expanded metal Friday and get that ramp done and ready for powdercoat. You can be sure when the ramps are reunited with the trailer, I will be making sure no way either can fall out again.

cant Wait for bronco time this weekend too.

Heading out to hunt for some armoured cable for a little mud room wiring job. Also toying with a partial 2nd floor storage area idea, with an elevator of sorts, but that is still between my ears, and may be only wishful thinking.
Check out Wesley Treat on TooYube. He's got just that thing.

Decided to have a closer look at one of the "blown" 18" woofers I bought the other day. On the initial test, It did work, but it made a mechanical slapping sound. After a closer look today, I could see the spider was detached about 80% of the way around. Pushing up on the cone, you can see it lift off the basket:

(Nevermind the insulation fuzzies! LOL)

So I glued it back down. I'll let it cure for 24 hours and see if that helped. I'm 90% sure that's all that's wrong with it. When I held the spider down with my hands the sound stopped.
If the voice coil is still centered in the gap it should be OK. I would have cut the dust cap off, and shimmed it before glueing, but sometimes you just roll the dice.

Thanks! That guy knows his stuff, and he's got a great sense of humour to go with it.

IMG_3172.jpegIMG_3173.jpegIMG_3169.jpegIMG_3170.jpegTook the low windshield off my Yamaha, put the medium windshield on that I picked up for 30.00, 1 hour 45 minutes from me, lol. Lowered the height of the drive belt on the Yamaha as well. I put a new one in previously and it was riding a little high and squealing at idle. All better now. The 2016 Ram saga continues. I had a small scratch between cylinder 2 and 4, used a full sheet of 400 grit on a sheet of glass with WD-40 for some lube, then some 800 grit and it worked out good, scratch is gone and straight edge tells me it’s still flat😊. All ready to start putting this truck back together, hope I don’t screw anything up.

Glued and nailed together another of Raised Bed Planter Boxes. Cut some lumber into parts. Stoped to take a deposit to the Credit Union.
Lunch was Cottage Cheese with canned Pineapple Chunks.
Now waiting on the Laz-Z-Boy technician for Warranty Service, the new chair arrived with a factory defect.

New power steering pump showed up today after I got home from work. Went out to the garage and swapped over the pulley and bracket. I spent a few minutes getting the bulk of the grease/junk off the bracket and backside of the pulley. I need to spend a little time cleaning the bracket on the engine and that area before reassembly.

It took a good bit of effort to get the pulley moving off the shaft, the end of the shaft and edge of the pulley were a bit rusty/crusty. I sprayed it with PB Blaster first. Once it started moving it came off smoothly.

The pump lives in this hole:

To tow the boat I built in the same garage. This is a recent picture after significant repairs from the tree damage

Yep, that's pretty damn nice. I zoomed in the best I could, the finite details are outstanding.

Boat maintenance is next on my list after I wrap up a handful smaller projects. Once fishing / boating season gets going, my garage projects stop except for the boat.

Received this picture of the transaxle for my ‘55 Porsche Speedster. Every nut/bolt is correct as is the plating of the housing/nose cone. Engine will be finished and “run in” during the next few weeks. Will be great to get these items back in the shop for future install.

Nice setup!

My last house I had a converted freezer to chill beer and had a long draw air shaft system to supply the taps at the bar on the other side of the wall. I hope to get back to home brewing this year; its been over 25 years I think since I brewed last.

Garage fairy left something for me, I never knew there was a garage fairy, but now I must believe.

I was putting the trash can away after they picked up the trash, and noticed there was something in there.

The things like new, so I hung it up in the garage.

Cant think of a scenario where this happens, so it must be a garage fairy.
