Release of the Titanium 1/4" drive ratchets is pushed back to early this year.
A couple small updates.
The switch and socket release button are now machined Titanium vs 3D printed Titanium on the original production run. Way too much post-processing on the metal 3D printed versions.
Pictured is my old beater (rough prototype finish) with the new switch:
Several limited-edition versions of the 1/4" drive will be released. One version was cryogenically treated and "Superfinished" by CryoHeat in CA. We also micro shot peened (as usual) and did some other surface treatments afterwards, so it's not their usual mirror polished finish. It's much smoother than our normal finish and allows for even better performance of the coatings, while keeping some of the benefits of a shot peened surface.
As machined and pre-coating finish:
The biggest thing will be the strength of the gears. The alloy we're using is absolutely ridiculous. There are some other features that will have to wait until release to mention...
The small dots on the nose of the gears are from hardness testing.
For the Titanium spark plug sockets, we're going to release a slightly more polished version with several new coatings (in addition to Gold, DLC and Iridescent DLC).
The extension/cheater pipe is going to look quite a bit different but in a really cool way. It offers an extremely direct transmission of torque from the girth of the beast despite being very lightweight.
