Edit: ***I missed that you mentioned Dynamic above, please disregard***

Another thought that may or may not be relevant. Northern Tool Company sells Dynamic brand mechanics tools online. I believe when I inquired about them, someone told me they were made by Grey or Gray (Canadian tool company)?. The tools themselves are likely made in China or Taiwan. Hope this helps :)

If we call kitchen knives, jack knives and other knives as tools, then we should add Grohmann Knives to the list. Made right here in NS since 1957 . Top Quality too.
Good call! I have a beautiful slipjoint with brass bolsters and stag horn scales from them that is one of my favorite pocket knives. I certainly think of knives as tools. Adding them to the list.

Did you know there's a maximum number of post edits permissible in 24 hours? Turns out I've met my limit.

I'll add Grohmann to the list when my editing ability is restored.

Also, sorry for the duplicate post above. I was actually trying to delete it when I discovered the editing limit. 😛

I had no idea.

Never gave Canadian tool mfg much thought, since my years in industry and pawing though tools at hundreds of estate auctions, with the exception of cutting tool bits, some larger woodworking equipment and wood fasteners, never really remember "made in Canada" on much of anything, :headscrat

Looks like you have some really nice stuff made up there.

I'm so bummed I didn't know about Gray tools when I was searching for 1/2" drive deep metric 6pt. sockets. That would have been an awesome option and an easy choice.

Yes, there's a limit. It was put in place for those that were basically disrupting the forum deleting all their posts when they got mad before they left.

I've deleted the double post.

These Hayley cabinets are beautiful and built in Calgary, but when I checked a little pricey. But if my wife would agree I would place them in my house. They are that nice

These are also top notch. A buddy was one and noticed a fleet of them in a nearby high school Industrial Arts Shop.
This one is the Cadillac of their fleet. IMG_2555.jpeg

Now if after a tough days work you may need a golden elixir. Our local brewery was once owned by Carling O’Keefe where 16 individuals had the kajonees to buy the brewery. Since purchasing they have won many awards for their brews. Their 16 Orig8nal line pays homage to their faith in their hard work.
This one is my favourite.

Here also is one I have known to enjoy. Brewed in British Columbia.

^ I always thought that was just some stupid canard somebody had made up that got traction, until I met a guy up on the coast while I was eating lunch at Kalaloch.

from my report:

"Meet a man from Canada, eh? He's from Alberta, eh? And wants to know if the trees get any bigger, eh? I give him directions to the big spruce down on the South Shore Road."

Was all I could do to keep a straight face and give the man directions.

In my opinion, Lee Valley is special and deserves our business even for things not MiCAN. They are a really neat organization. I have always wanted a one way lathe. They aren’t just MiCAN but probably the best lathes out there.

In both cases, you aren’t just supporting Canada, you are getting really good stuff. LV customer service is top notch.

Query to the list keeper and others in the know: as beer is a garage staple, does clothing also fit the list? I was a fan of Roots clothing store last time I was in BC. I know they outfit the Olympic team, but are they MiCAN? My great Roots sweatshirt is currently buried, so I can’t go look easily.

The boilers for the in floor heat in both my house and shop are made by IBC, based in Vancouver.

They are high efficiency, wall hung units, and seem quite robust after being in service for about eight or maybe more years.

Well.... I sort of bought Canadian today. Lunch at Burger King.

Restaurant Brands International Inc. (RBI) is a Canadian-American multinational fast food holding company. It was formed in 2014 by the $12.5 billion merger between American fast food restaurant chain Burger King and Canadian coffee shop and restaurant chain Tim Hortons, and expanded by the purchases of Popeyes and Firehouse Subs in 2017 and 2021, respectively.

Another for the list. ITM. They carry a lot of instrumentation including Fluke. Also Machine shop tools from Starrett and Mitutoyo. Usually they have sale flyers posted. Ive bought from them before through work and they are great to deal with.

There's Millbank Hardware in Millbank ON. No website, but will keep you up to date on sales if you get on their mailing list.

Conforto furnaces are made by Granby out of Nova Scotia. I'm not 100% sure the furnaces are made in Canada, but the company certainly is based there.

Professional Toolboxes. I have seen and touched one. They are extremely well made and sturdy. Equal or better than Snappy. Made in Red Deer Alberta.

I bought a GTC505M and some fuse adapters from them, they make some interesting diag tools, they even reply to emails and ship to the UK 👍
In the process of adding everything to the list. Thanks for the contributions!

I claim NO copyright on that material, btw - have at it, buddy.
It's all I can do to try to keep it "up to date" - it changes DAILY.
I would like to see the number of entries in that list under "Canada", "UK", "France", "Germany", and "Japan" to be more proportional to the actual output from them.

Keep in mind I'm only focused on manufacturers, although I believe you will find "Princess" and "Canadian Tire" in there.

ooo that was dumb.. I guess I don't have "Canadian Tire" listed there... we'll have to get that fixed.
all their stuff is outsourced private-label product, though, right? they're not actually a tool manufacturer from what I understand.

No they are not a manufacturer and they aren't really a tool store either. It's a small section in the store. They are very hard to describe if you have never been in one. Auto parts and accessories, tools, home renovation stuff but no lumber (plumbing, Electrical, paint) sporting goods, garden stuff, kitchen products including small appliances, seasonal stuff like Christmas decorations, some home decor stuff. As I said very hard to label. LOL
