Been a good weekend so far. First was a 240 arrival at an estate sale scheduled to close at 3 o’clock. I thought it was gonna be open the next day too, but was wrong, as I found out at 259.
Quick perusal thru the garage yielded only average tools, didn’t grab any, the yard had some potted plants for MLW. A pass thru the rest of the house revealed some vintage camera stuff, but all Nikon, so nothing of interest. Heading up to pay, I saw what looked like a silverware chest on some shelves, got closer, saw Meccano on the front. Decent price, opened it up, nothing inside, except a few latch parts which had fallen off, and a decal saying Meccano No. 3x. I was gonna google GJ to see what the knowledge was, and was told it was 259. No chance. Grabbed it. Web says it’s no newer than 1927, they were green in 1928. More details in the construction toys thread later tonight.
Today’s post dog run stop was the second weekend of a 22yr resident having to move out as his rental was sold.

. Car mechanic, mid rebuild on a 1930s era vehicles, frame off. Also some woodworking tools, plumbing, electrical etc. Lots of carbs, clamps, torches etc. Again, some plants for MLW, few things for me. No room in the truck, or enough money, so they held some stuff while I went home, emptied the truck bed, grabbed MLW and some cash. Went back, spent even more on plants and pots, and had a nice chat with the sellers while shopping.
B&D Macho III roto hammer, which uses the same spline bits as my Bosch that took a dump right when I needed it, plus included some adapters for SDS I think. Also a Bergman tool Queen City 12” curved adjustable, and a solar battery charger. Not a great price on the tools, but the plants were, so it all averaged out.
