It’s annoying when you’re battle an equipment and it just keeps giving you more challenges to conquer. I got a mower doing the same thing to me.

Speaker box looks good! I need to build one for the Camaro. But, first I need to get it street legal!!!
On a side note, if everything lines up, I’ll be finishing the Camaro paint job next weekend.

I'm sure it's something simple Cody, but this mower also has A TON of hours on it...service life has been exceeded more than likely.

Thanks, glad to hear you're getting closer.

Still battling the MF 8 mower, I'm waiting on a NOS set of points for the Tecumseh. If that doesn't work with a new condenser...I'm done with the Tecumseh. Tractor will get sold or repowered.

In other news, I've been focusing on the Z28 to ensure I drive it more this year. Upgraded the sound system with a Kenwood Excelon 10" sub. Built a custom box for the trunk well. Probably should have spent more on the amp, but this Blaupunkt had really good reviews. Initial thoughts...wow, it hits much harder than I expected. Just a touch under 1 cubic foot by the dimensions. Also upgraded the charging wire from the alternator and the out another heavy ground off the battery.

Marc that looks awesome. Love the hounds tooth. Damn your trunk is way bigger than mine. I need new 6.5's the driver side is blown out and driving me crazy. Maybe I need a box with a small woofer in the back. I just wouldn't have anywhere to put the t-tops. Not that I ever take them off.

Thanks man!

Bret, you bring the beer and the materials/Camaro...we can tag team the box haha...I'm pretty sure you have better stuff to wood work with, however

Sub looks good! Man a 10" with a solid amp is great for actual music and had more of a sharp punch then a 12. Once you get into r&b with really heavy bass notes then a 12 is more appropriate.

Raises hand for t56 swap??

Back when I first dreamed of owning a 3rd gen Camaro that is they same way I wanted to build the box but with a couple 12's. Decent audio gear is not all that expensive now compared to 20 years ago when I was last into it. The amps are much better and more compact for considerably more power. A single 10 is really all you need for most comfortable listening levels and helps to round out the sound quality. Yep I felt old just saying that. lol

JB, when you put the beans to this setup, it will rattle everything in the car...(2) 12's would be unbearable

Thanks! I didn't get into the audio stuff until later in life. When I was younger, it was more about the noise outside...and how fast it would go in an 1/8 or 1/4 mile.

I was happy running two 6x9 from a cassette player with a cassette adaptor to my discman all built into my center console of my 78 Chevy crew cab as a kid.

The change of time as I’m looking forward to adding a 10 in subwoofer due to low bass is what I hear best these days.🤦‍♂️

The days of the tape adapter and portable CD player! I had to remember to eject my tape when I parked the pickup, otherwise it would keep spinning while I was in class.

My kids got a CD from my mom of all the VBS songs the church used last year. They had to ask what it was. Isn't that crazy. It doesn't seem like it has been that long to us but most younger kids have never even seen a CD.

They have to listen to the CD on the TV because the DVD player is the only thing that is still around to play them. Cars don't even have them anymore.

Yeah, my youngest found some of my cassette tapes, his mind was blown 🤯

Suburban and the Z28 still have CD players. My 2003 Tundra had both until I swapped the headunit out.

We have a stash of my wife's favorite Christmas movies and stuff on DVD (really the only movies we have are her favorite holiday movies and a few that the kids watched on repeat on a laptop on long road trips and such). The first time we pulled them out and watched one they couldn't believe that there was a movie on it. They just figured everything was inside the TV since everything is streamed these days.

It's crazy how fast tech changes and now we laugh thinking it's funny that they think these dinosaur things we grew up with are "old".

With the audio completed on the car, I dropped the exhaust one last time to adjust and clearance a couple of areas. Decided to grab a pic of the rear section while I had it on the lift. Under car clearance is definitely much improved.

I just finished dinner and have a few minutes before having to take the girls to soccer so thought I'd catch up. In my few free minutes I have to log in and see photos of your "rear section". 🙄🤣. Just giving you a hard time.

I may have missed it above. Is it single or dual exit? Is the turn down hidden by the bumper or can you see it? Very nice work, looks clean.

Single exit, hidden from sight when behind the car. Thanks, the goal was good sound and a clean look.

I've been slow on my GJ the last few days.....I'm glad you finally got an exhaust pieced together that fits your standards buddy. It looks great from here. Don't give up on the Massey, poor little thing just needs some help. Not sure I can say the same for the Tecumseh it was unfortunately saddled with.

Hu-zah! Long live the Massey lol. Time to spread some fertilizer!

Picked up the new fertilizer last night...hopefully tomorrow!

I'm corrupted, I read "MF" and thought " He must be pissed at the tractor now!"

Glad you got it running!

Just ask @XJSuperman ... it was definitely called what you were thinking  I almost said to it "I'm sorry for the things I called you when you wouldn't run properly"

I'm glad to see you did not ditch your little MF8. I have several of that gen MF garden tractors.

This tractor was sold new to my uncle by my grandfather from Sandberg Implement in Gering, NE. Then my uncle sold it to my dad, who in turn gave it back to my grandpa when we moved out of Nebraska in the late 80s. I learned to mow on that little 8.

We also had two MF12s on the farm. One set up specifically to mow with a blower on the deck and an enclosed trailer to catch the clippings. The other was the work horse, it pulled all the Brinley single point implements and had a belly sickle mower for doing the road ditches. I latched on to the 8 before it made it to the farm sale.

We used the ol' Mow-N-Vac at Grandpa's house. Im sure compared to your set up it ***** 😆

Damn, I wish I had A picture of the rig we used to have behind the old 955 JD back in the day. 11 acres of fall foliage. Used to run a 10” deck to boost motor pipe. You were running too fast if you clogged that rig. 4.5 hrs to mow, ALL day if you were picking up leaves. Made for a great spotted cow keg fire every year!

5th(I think) mow of the year. We really need a rain. North and South of us has had 4"+ in the last 2 weeks, we've had 40/100ths.

Really happy with the the Spartan mower. Not only did it cut my mow time in half, but the fuel consumption is better too. Sure makes great stripes in the dry grass 😜

Oldest son took the '49 to his senior prom and graduates (hopefully 😉) next Sunday.

1000001891.jpg

Got his grad present picked out and customized last weekend. Henry 22lr with the big loop, sewed the leather on the lever myself. Also ran around the shop spin cocking the rifle (unloaded of course) like I was in a John Wayne western 🤙
