Welding two nuts inline- how to w/o binding?

I wonder is a washer between the two nuts would allow both to thread together?

A washer between the nuts? Did you look at the op? Something about a hotdog and a hallway?

If the nuts were next to each other, it also wouldn't make a difference because the clocking of the nuts would still cause binding as the weld cooled.

My thinking is a large washer would be more surface area to absorb the heat creating less distortion. Also, a large washer would allow vice grips to be clamped on as heat sinks. Just a thought! It would be interesting to try.
