I did a trans swap a few months back and found I could have used some work supports, like this under car supports while working on a hoist, amazon.com/Sunex-6811-Short-Underhoist-Stand/dp/B0BTB1Q4NG/ref=asc_df_B0BTB1Q4NG?mcid=c73f17263eff3e879629808aa2645687&hvocijid=10569347060663818922-B0BTB1Q4NG-&hvexpln=73&tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=721245378154&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10569347060663818922&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9024532&hvtargid=pla-2281435179778&psc=1.

But shorter for using while vehicle is on jack stands. I did pick up a set of these camper supports from a local farm store but they were too short, https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/p...LdfBJk7Y-Mmm909HMrHdPpBpmXUSwvJQaAnsVEALw_wcB. But looking for something similar that goes from around 12-24" or so. There have been other times where it would have been nice to support a part on a vehicle and sometimes a jack stand just isn't the right height with it's holes. So looking for a screw type that is adjustable to whatever height you need within it's range. A bottle jack works Ok with it's pump lift and then screw to fine adjust. But would rather have a set of screw jacks that can't leak down and would be a little more stable then a bottle jack. Does such a thing exist? I would think so since they exist for working under a hoist, but I can't find anything googling. Maybe I'm just not using the correct words.

I built six of these to hold my RV up. The 1" threaded rods are engineered for 4500 pounds. If you have access to a welder you could make something like them and add some outriggers on the pipe for stability. The threaded rod is called Lagstud and it's available at most concrete supply stores.

Had a bunch at an old job. Cast aluminum base maybe 6”x6” square and 12” tall with a 12” screw.

That’s what I use jackstands for….
Jack stands aren't as adjustable as a screw type support. When vehicle is on jack stands sometimes you need to support an individual part like transmission tail or a suspension part. Infinitely adjustable screw instead of a jack stand with notches every inch or so works better. Also can just screw up tight to the part. Don't need to raise the saddle of jack stand higher then needed and then back down to lock into the slot. I have over a dozen jack stands, there's a reason I asked about a screw type instead of just grabbing another jack stand.

These are the type that we use on our welding rigs around here. They fold up for transport and easy to add a longer 1” pipe if needed. I sold my 12” and my 30” ones and kept 4 - 24” ones. All used Lagstud for the threaded rods. They have engineered stamps rated for 4500 pounds
