Re: hot rod garage in the works.38x56

Enjoyed seeing your super build.

You have made great use of old materials and those beams are way over the top.

Some great buys if you are in the right place at the right time there.

We will keep watching your progress.

Best of luck to you.

Man this build is awesome. As far as the lights inside the wall, are they just the basic ones that you can buy at the big home stores? Thanks, Russ

I think you have done one heck of a job with your shop.

I'm 26 and hope one day I can own my own shop like this that I can invest into some of your ideas.

Currently I rent a 5ksq ft morton building that I run a speed shop out of. I mainly dyno tune cars out of it.

I really like your work benchs and how you have trimmed out everything. I plan to do the same to everything that is removable.

Keep up the good work!

E.Rodz...........Always looking forward to what you are doing. Definitely top notch on everything you do. Keep posting up the pics when you have time, which I don't imagine you have too much of. It seems like you have more going on that 5 people.

On the other hand, I just now realized that your '63 is a more-door. Never noticed it before after all the pics I've seen of it. :wtf: Just shows you where my head is at, at times. :lol_hitti

Re: hot rod garage in the works.38x56

just a little updating the house and garage exterior are allmost done and i really need a break getting really burnt out on working 18 hrs a day and still trying to keep up with the family.
august2010188.jpg

house with most of the stone work done.new doors, windows, gutters, soffits, siding ,insulation.
august2010194.jpg

new awning still needs to be finished.so sick of staining and sealing I could puke.just think every rock on house and garage I handled at least 2 or 3 times.
august2010190.jpg

is it wrong that my garage is over a thousand sq. ft bigger than my house?:lol_hitti

No, not all. What did you expect from the gearheads on this site?

BTW, looking mighty fine, E!

I'm surprised you don't have a direct walkway off that back porch straight to the man door.

Are you using that Stiebel/Eltron unit to heat the water for your in-floor heating system? I have one of those that I bought to have hot water for my shop bathroom, haven't installed it yet though.

I wouldn't think it would be nearly enough BTUs (nor be capable of the duty cycle needed) to run an in-floor heating system...?

if it were not for the greedy insurence co. that would hve been done but the time frame they aloted me to finish the hail damage was insane. had to build a ledger board for future awning just need a little time to design somthing spectacular.

the boiler is a hydro shark2 can't remember the specs.but it is definitly heats the 672sq ft.more than enough.if I remember it is rated for 1200sq ft.in the tundra zone where i am at.

Re: hot rod garage in the works.38x56

Cool. So you are using the Stiebel/Eltron for hot water for your sinks, etc then, right?

I just hooked up mine last night, and tested it out....WOW! I could not believe how much hot water it puts out for such a compact unit.

the unit is just for the in floor heat closed loop system. don't even have running water or a sink in the garage.takes up to much space. thoose little boilers are just awsome.
