What are you storing your circular saws In?

Unlike the overseas Hikoki version, my Metabo HPT circular saw did not come with a storage box. The Hikoki storage box (by itself) is available in Japan with a custom molded bottom insert for my saw (yes..the saw is exactly the same) for $139 (imported price wit shipping, etc). I'm not paying that. I'm thinking of a generic box at Lowers or HD. Since I use the saw infrequently, I prefer to store it in a container with a lid.

Just curious how you are storing your circular saws?

My late 90’s PC saw come with a blow molded case and I still keep the saw in it today.
Im normally not a blow molded case fan but this one I kept.
Maybe because it’s used infrequently and often transported somewhere else when it is used.

I have 4 worm-drive saws, since I am retired now and don't use them much, they lay on their sides on the concrete floor under the workbench, right beside my angle drills, sawzalls, jigsaws and other power tools.

If I need any of them, I put them in the van and when I am done, return them to their rightful place.

I bet it'd be rather spectacular to use that saw without the chip discharge cap on.......lol.

I don't mean to keep harping here but just as a side note, when replacing the blade on any circular saw, turn the bolt/nut in the direction of normal rotation to loosen it, opposite to tighten. It might be right or left hand threads, doesn't matter.

One of my roller boxes has a door on the bottom instead of drawers. All my electric corded saws are in there. Sawzall, circular, jigsaw, etc.

Yes sir! Luckily it’s a metal cap with a strong spring. An effective elbow came with the saw.

If I’m using it in the garage to break down 4x8 sheets I use a dust collection hose that came with my biscuit jointer for surprisingly effect dust collection.

Wired is in the storage box it came in. Battery powered is in a harbor freight bag. Take the tool in with you. Show the cashier you're bringing it in to find a case for it.

I'm slowly getting all my tools into tool bags.

In big Lyon metal bin under my steel bench. I have a few old ones in their original metal cases too, but the ones I use most are just sitting in a bin on the floor in my small garage. New blades are in a big flat file type cabinet.

In it’s Systainer. With rail connectors, rail clamps, dust bag, spare/ other blades. Systainer sits on shelf. Rails hang on the side of a shelf-system’s cupboards/drawers unit. Easy/ preferred access to all of it. (I need to bring this out to the roofed patio to break down sheet goods and do most of my cutting there anyway since I can’t get full sheets down into the basement/ let alone handled there at all.)

Kind regards,
Olli

Mine is just placed on a shelf.

I do see tons of blow-molded cases at the Habitat for Humanity ReStores.

Or you could go the more expensive route and get a Packout/ToughSystem/Systainer that fits.

Plain circular saws? Just stuffed into a drawer. The track saws are in their respective systaner or packout box.

I have a Metabo battery saw and I love it. My tools often get thrown in the truck to do work somewhere other than my house. I built a drill and driver box out of scrap lumber and I often am using the top as a saw horse for my saw. Maybe build an enclosed storage box that multitasks like my drill box.

Had my circular saw out yesterday actually.

It's kept in the OE case in a cabinet. It's not really "Handy", but I don't use it a lot. It's a Craftsman I bought back when Sears ruled the world. Still looks brand new.

In a drawer.

If I need to take them with me somewhere, I have a bag that they can fit in.

Don't think I've bought one that had a case for eons.

Used the original Craftsman case that the saw came in (was bought as return from Sears around 1994)
After that saw became useless during a deck deconstruction the replacement Makita now sits in the original case.

In a filing cabinet, no cases
Similar. Have a couple of those narrow file cabinets stacked on top of each other in a corner. The larger drawer holds a circular saw nicely and the sliding divider is positioned in front to hold different blades vertical. These cabinets were cheap to buy used and mine are from one of the better tier furniture manufacturers. Drawers open and close like butter. Think Meridian?

My Craftsman circular saw came in its own handy blow-mold plastic case, like @Jgaz's in post #5 above. It takes up an inordinate amount of space in that big bulky blow-mold case.
My ex-wife kept all of her circular saws, electric drills, and other corded power tools in an old filing cabinet.
You can pick up filing cabinets for free here any day of the week off Craigslist.
YMMV

My plan is to make a shelf in 1 of my cabinets tall enough for the blade to be fully extended, cut a slot in the shelf so I can just slide the saw in and it will sit upright on it's own. Kinda like this but I don't care about it being diagonal. Probably just leave it horizontal since I store mine in a lower cabinet. Make sense?

Both of mine are in their storage cases under the miter saw bench. One is a Milwaukee & the other is an old Craftsman that is all metal construction that I got from my FIL.

I use a dewalt Tstack large box for my m18 circular saw and it fits spare blades a battery and charger 🔌
A bonus is it stacks with my other Tstack cases.

Freud Industrial cabinetmaket's crosscut blade for the mitre bevel saw is in a custom-made wooden case, for protection.

The Dewalt everyday combination blade that it occasionally replaces stays on the saw. When I require a finer cut quality they trade places.

All other blades are just in the cardboard or plastic case that they were sold in.

My corded DeWalt came in a storage case and I use that. The cordless version lives in the cordless tool bag that came with the kit.

I use the flip out hanger on my Skilsaw worm drive and hang it on the wall from a utility hook.

Metal box that the saw came in. 80s Black and Decker that I very rarely use these days. (M18 makes more sense)

I mounted a bit of pipe to the end of a shelf, and hang a few saws from it, using their rafter hooks.

Easy to grab one, either to use it, or pack it up to go somewhere with it.

Two slots in the back side of my mobile tool station. This will be replaced with shop cabinets hopefully this winter when I can get around to building them. Planning to put both Rigid saws and my track saw in a drawer together oriented such that the handles are all more or less horizontal for easy grabbing.

Compared to many of you I don't have a lot of power tools. The one's I do have I keep here.

The one blow mold case I kept I cut the interior out of and use it to store my automotive AC gauges, hoses and misc. AC stuff in.

I knew one guy who carried his in a 5 gallon bucket with a lid. Cheap, durable, lightweight & waterproof. I’m sure he kept blades in it too.

I have the same saw.
First the Bosch drills, then the Dewalt chop saw. Now this.

You must be my tool twin.

I tossed my box and store it in cabinet. Along with all the other tools.
I have a sled on mine for some guides. So it wouldn’t fit in the box anymore.
