I was thinking the same thing.lolThat's one form of underbody rust prevention....

I've done my share of those. They are scary--but I've yet to have one get away from me. Two rods so one always has my *** covered.Observing the Garage Door Professional replace the Torsion Springs on my garage/workshop door.
He is being very professional, but the stored energy in the unbroken spring bit him pretty good.
He is earning his money.

I like the new style that uses a drill to wind them up. Or unwind them. I had one at my last house.I've done my share of those. They are scary--but I've yet to have one get away from me. Two rods so one always has my *** covered.
Yes it is, I had sprayed the rusty bottom recently with black Fluid Film so the oil just added to it.That's one form of underbody rust prevention....

Painted the 67 Corvair today. Got some runs and a fair amount of dirt, to be expected with the garage door propped open with a large window fan under it. Wish I hadn't sold my furnace blower a couple years ago. I'll wait a few days, then start wet sanding it and buff it out. The only really bad spot is an apparent bondo from a previous repair that didn't show up until I started spraying. Of course, it's right in front of the driver door. I'll worry about that later. At least it's finally painted.
Well dang, that looks like a nice Butternut...

The color is Capri Cream. It had been repainted red, and the previous owner was a young guy sanding it for a repaint. He gave up. I like red cars, but it seems everyone is repainted Corvairs red, and I haven't seen any Capri Cream Vairs, so I went back to the original color. I like it.Well dang, that looks like a nice Butternut...
It's not this yellow, thats my phone camera.
It's a OEM butternut car, repaint.
I like to call it "Banquet yellow"
I have a picture of a Coors Banquet yellow belly on the car, same color, Can't find it. dammit.
Could you imagine going to the track with a hipster beer car , you'd have to park over there..
just talking trash...lol
I don’t know how many accounts you have, but I assume you know the amount, and the dates your check comes. All you have to do is look at each account and see which one gets that amount deposited monthly. Of course I’m assuming you are looking at each account online, shouldn’t take more than a couple minutes. My Bookeeper will be here this evening, after she gets off her “Day Job”. She gave me some calls to make.
I tried but got locked out because I didn’t know which account number my retirement check went into.
I pay her to keep my money organized.
We had to close all of our accounts and establish new ones because our information became compromised. My problem is moving the automatic deposits from the old accounts into the new ones.I don’t know how many accounts you have, but I assume you know the amount, and the dates your check comes. I'm a CPA by day and the line I love to drop when talking with banks/financial institutions is "your security is so secure, the only person it is keeping out is the rightful owner of the account!"We had to close all of our accounts and establish new ones because our information became compromised. The protection against fraud has made the process troublesome.

Sorry to hear.I've been on the phone and online all day trying to get **** from my father's estate finalized. He passed a year-and-a-half ago and was living in New Zealand at the time--he was a dual US/NZ citizen. Trying to get some of his stuff shipped back over here has left me dealing with DHL. I hope none of you all ever have to deal with DHL.
Also trying to get an Ingersoll Rand refrigerated air dryer. I can't recommend IR's customer service, either.
Meanwhile, trying to set up an appointment to get my SS and Medicare started. It looks like I'll have to drive two hours each way for an appointment as their on-line system is junk.

I sic'ed my lawyer on 'em. Turns out, the problem was dealt with a month ago but they forgot to turn off the automatic notification e-mail. Or so they say.
It's been on these shores for a month or more. Just more lawyers, taking more of a slice of the estate, I suppose.I heard DHL suspended all overseas shipments... ??? But who knows ..... Tariffs on Tariffs off ... like a strobe light driving the world crazy !!

Sorry to hear about the SS/Medicare issues. I retired at the end of 2021 and my wife and I signed up for Medicare beginning 1/1/2022 and for SS beginning 1/1/2023 (to let it grow another year (8%)). Both experiences were simple and efficient. Online and, as I recall, one follow-up phone call. The rep called my wife and she mentioned that I was applying as well. He put her on hold, came back a few minutes later and said "Well, I got his app from another rep so let's take care of him too since we're on the phone." Of course, we know things have changed lately. Hope you get it squared away. I will throw out a plug for this book and her website for educating yourself on Medicare and plan shopping - in addition to the Medicare site. Great resources. Also, a very active Facebook group. Highly recommended.
