An order is trickling in, parcel by parcel … Have a paving project coming up in very early spring that I’m ging to tackle together with my dad. He doesn’t have a Halder Simplex yet, so he is getting one for Christmas. 50mm, rubber/nylon. That arrived together with two Stabila string line spirit levels.

Kind regards,

During my Iowa visit, the Snap-On truck that services the shop my sister owns stopped in while I was there. What can I say. I am a helpless pawn in the clutches of such salesmanship.

The 12 piece snap ring set was on the monthly special, and the lady that runs the truck made me a deal I couldn't refuse. I also picked up a couple of the butane torches (300 and 400).

I'm gitty. Found this within 10 minutes of my house. I've been looking for quite some time. Runs great! Needs some TLC and it will be a nice addition.

Here's mine. My father bought it in 1963. I love it. Once it is set up, it makes the cleanest cuts ever. I built this china cabinet with it in 1991.

Fly fishing Rick, that “paddle” design you referenced is normally called a cabinet screwdriver — often used by carpenters because it fits in tight places where carpenters find with cabinet hardware, hinges, etc. The wedge design is preferred by mechanics , millwright, etc. and is called a “keystone,” design. I mention this only as an fyi. Cheers, jimdon

A few recent acquisitions: top left two Sunflag trim tools, beneath them, the recently released Tekton compact 1/4 drive socket set with flex head ratchet, center is the Ko-Ken locking wobble fix 3/8 drive extension set with outstanding knurling around the female square drive end. Top right are a few harbor freight 30% off deals including a Maddox lift support clamp, an Icon four piece 10 mm socket set, and a Doyle magnetizer/demagnetizer resting on the Astro 42 piece 1/4 inch drive low profile Nano impact bit socket set. Really nice assortment of bits made from S2 steel.

Another find whose purchase was inspired by this thread. Motion Pro torque wrench adapter, when you can't get your torque wrench on a bolt, and don't have the little 3" torque wrench adapter for that size -- but do have room for a combination wrench sticking out in another direction!

Not cheap, as there is some machinging that went into these.

It's 3/8" drive.

For a $1.99, I will try them out, they are expendable anyways. KIMG3300.JPG

Probably would not have bought all these if it wasn't for the 40% off sale and the 8 hours of Holiday Pay coming my way for Thanksgiving. The plan was to just buy the 1/2" drive but said aw the hell with it.KIMG3301.JPG
I picked up a couple of ratchets, myself. I've used those flap disks for applications where the disks will clog quickly. The Warrior cutting discs tend to shatter more than most.

I really like the tapered Sunflag fork design. I don't have yours but I use their long hex bit version as shown here with my interchangeable Vessel ball grip tang thru striking handle.
And my “bent-tip” pocket screwdriver along for the ride. :bounce:

I will keep that in mind. I wouldn't have paid full price for them or maybe just one to try out, but for less than $2/ea, I figured I would try a couple.

Just me but for the 1/4 and 3/8 I would have bought gen2 versions over the gen1.
That would be a locking version but include the "comfort grip" I believe, didn't really want that grip. But I understand that, there was a guy standing in the aisle said he was going to try one and see how dirty the grip got. I told him, there's always "Brakleen."

Didn't own a single quality slotted screwdriver other than my massive Snap-on that I use as a beater. So I decided to change that =). I really love the tipp design on these. It's more of a flat, paddle shape rather than the classic wedge shape.
Be careful, the PB screwdrivers are addictive! I can guarantee, that you will find yourself soon buying more of them!

Damn, I could have really used something like that the other day!
Once again, my wishlist is getting longer. This Forum will be my downfall.

I already have the Philips #2 and I don't use/carry a lot of dedicated screwdrivers so I'm probably safe haha. The only other one I may consider would be an insulated Robertson #1. Most of their really cool stuff costs more than I'm willing to spend lol. I also have an interest in the Vessel ball grips, especially the insulated strike throughs. But They're something I won't buy unless I can feel one in my hand first. They look like a love it or hate it kind of tool.

Astro 1/4 Nano wrench and metric sockets from JDTCo.
And a Snap On 3/8 gold T55 to replace one I've been missing for awhile.

Bonus pics of the Astro with a 4mm and 15mm beside the T55 socket. These low profile sockets are going to be handy.20251122_193634.jpg20251122_193708.jpg20251122_193735.jpg

Finally upgraded my screwdrivers. I've been wanting these for years, and finally pulled the trigger

Congratulations! Those will make a good stop gap while you keep shopping for PB Swiss, FACOM, Vessel, Wiha....

(Joke! I have nothing against SO, it's just that GJ continues to dangle temptations.)

Are these the sockets?

And suddenly for no particular reason, you suddenly feel like you should have these

But a foot's listed above was really only the 1/4 in, then it's probably these

The 1/4-in drives have an 11 mm external hex so that would be this ratchet

Trip to Harbor Freight today and came home with the following. ( Inside Track Club Sales Price) except the sandpaper discs. Told the Wife that these are NOT my X-Mas Gifts.

1. Hercules Orbital Sander w/Cord was $39.99 on sale. Variable Speed and the dust bag comes off so you can attach a vac hose. Also some different grit sandpaper discs.
2. Earthquake Composite XT 1/2" Air Impact Wrench, (Multi color choice, I went with the Gunmetal Gray) was on sale for $64.99.
3. Viking 6/12 Volt Load Tester on sale for $29.99. A replacement for one I gave to a friend last week to keep.
4. The Safety Coupler was on sale for $8.99. These work great and I've been buying them when they go on sale.
5. Another Mini Tool Box in gray. On Sale $14.99

There were a couple things I wanted to get but they were out of stock.

Also swung by Home Depot to pick up some X-Mas Tree lights for the wife. Of course I couldn't get out of there without buying something. Dewalt MAX-FIT, 81 pc Impact rated Drill/Driver set. On Sale for $19.88.

Having trouble posting the pics. Will post them once I can get them to upload.

Picked this up today on the company card. An inexpensive megger. Don’t use one often and the one I have is making some unsettling arcing sound inside the case when you hit the test button.
IMG_1818.jpeg

Actually seems pretty nice for the money and does more than the one it replaced.
