Best of luck Rian and hope that it will be a fun trip.

Thank you.

More to unfold.

Gotta keep you guys hungry

I have a customer that just had his bike painted in a John Deere theme, not sure why as he's not a farmer but it's his bike and if it makes him happy good for him.

I'll click a picture if it's still in the shop in the new year, when the tins came back and on the shelf it was WTF but assembled I can't say I hate it, lol.

Merry Christmas Rian! Safe travels and looking forward to your new adventures.

Thank you.

And yes to John Deere

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays gang.

Thanks you very much.

Trust your day has been good so far.

Christmas dinner, Steak etc with John my friend and previous lodger. Desert.

Super chill rescue leopard gecko.

I don’t do much for Christmas, happy with my own company. But lovely spending time with him and his kids.

Renault fuel consumption is pretty silly if you drive nicely

George fed

And relax……. Nice to be home

HEEEEEEEELLLLLPP !!!!!!

Right.

I like cheap wheels from other brands.

£50.00 cheap is cheap because once tyred up and painted they are not £50.00 anymore.

Saw these two sets.

Both a fair distance away.

But soft line Murano units are doable on the return trip from collecting the car (sounds like the right thing already)

With my very limited (read “non existent “ ) knowledge of interchangeable parts I am not the right guy to ask.

So asking you lot two things.

Will they fit??

Which look like the better option?

I would probably end up with a gold, bronze, copper type color that will go better with the potentially crazy colour visualisations in my head.

Thank you.

Rian, I haven't watched the movies but I am pretty sure I like the Grinch. Family received usual paper in envelope gifts but with half the usual denomination. I explained that I hold their birthdays, graduations and anniversaries in much higher regard than the birthday of some guy who never texts, calls or writes.

Happy Boxing Day!

I hope your local lord and lady filled a box with their leftover Christmas feast items and dropped the box off at your front door.

Well, Mickey forgot about taking me to the station.
And his wife had a go because they have a lunch date somewhere.

I was already working on Plan B when he said that he could take me, an hour earlier.

Perfect.

Well, we’re off.

A message from seller was encouraging too.

And Craigs ETA is aligned with mine.

Made it to Heathrow, screwed up slightly on directions but I was an hour early.

Waiting on Craig at Terminal 5

Traffic is a problem.

My day just got blessed by meeting a random woman……..

It feels like I’m in America on a road trip.

Kelly is always going to be Kelly 💜

BUT………

This is Julienne.
She is German.
Works in Dubai and has over 100 cats in a cat rescue center.
I am so in love 🥰

She is happily married of course.

But what an incredible soul she is. Beautiful is a bonus.

On our way
Wales

Narrow roads.

Back home at Craigs place.
It is really nice to drive.
Acceleration is like any modern car. It’s not silly fast but 170bhp certainly makes it brisk.
Nice ride and surprisingly good road holding.
It needs a shitload of the cosmetic work I like to do on old cars etc.
Worth the money? Yes.
It is always going to be a cheap entry to American cars for anyone.
It’s not going to increase in value.
Me, Pleased? Absolutely yes.

So we came back through Wales’ narrow roads and hilly terrain.
The seller had put £20.00 petrol in the car for me to ensure I made the 45 miles home to Craigs home where I was going to stay a few days to help him with some building work.

The drive was uneventful but I was really impressed with both handling and road holding. Engine performance is actually really impressive, overtaking acceleration and hill work made me do a double take.

Craig took me to fill up the tank to the neck about 7 miles from home.

Car took £66.00 or 54.6 liters.

I am hoping to get some idea on fuel consumption on the 205 miles home.

I still have not had the time to edit a short video.

The cleanup has started……

Well, Sort of.

Being known as a bit of a Womble (understatement of the year) I always have a tape measure and some old bedding in my cars.
Just in case I found some treasure that needed measuring before manhandling it to the vehicle.

Last night Craig bought a massive toolbox of old tools, which included 5 working tape measures and gifted me one.

I also brought the ashtray in and cleaned it out. Well used it was.

As a lifelong non smoker I would love to replace the ashtray but I guess on a car like this I should feel lucky it’s still there.
The cigar lighter is missing too.

I went to look around in the trunk at what came with the car.
I will unpack it all when I get home and start to clean the car.
But I also found this can of matched paint.

I don’t think it’s going to make much of a difference to the paint on this car.

But I will get to it all.

Also found a lovely van picture

Did I mention that I like green?

And that is extremely cheap.
More locally to both Rian and I it’s nearer £1.48.
Ouch, indeed

Absolutely

Green van paint job on the new car please
That’s niccceee. 👍

I love green

Nobody buys a green car.

I want green

My car, my problems ehhh.

And yet in the North it's around £1.30, guess that's the North South divide 😅

Well, salaries in the South are x5 higher than the North.

Stopped at the shop to do some work on a friends bike for a few hours yesterday and clicked a couple pictures of said bike.IMG_3511.jpegIMG_3510.jpegm

I love green.

I love John Deere

I be quiet now 😉

Back home.

This car is waaay better, beyond what those people who hate on it would like you to believe. I am now convinced half the haters never even sat in one.

An absolutely great ride out on motorway in in town.

Calculator says about fuel consumption

216 miles and 29.6 liters

UK Gallons - 33 MPG

US Gallons - 27.5 MPG

Metric

11.7 km/l

8.5 l/100km

****** HELL !!!!

Sorry to tell you guys…….

I am chuffed with this.

Should I be??

George the cat is happy too.
