This is a Milwaukee M18 TOP-OFF Lithium-Ion 175W Power Supply. It sits on top of an M18 battery and then I can run small 120V things or charge things over USB.

I own a few Dremel rotary tools but nothing cordless. I considered buying a Milwaukee because I already own some batteries. I was a little confused over the different Milwaukee models available and then it occurred to me that if I bought this top off product, I can just plug my existing Dremel tools into that.

So far, the only thing I've done with this is to run some dremels for carving. Honestly, I could have plugged them into the wall, but my intention was to test these to make certain they work before. I actually need to haul them to where I don't have power. And they worked very well.

My only concern is I just don't know how long it can run without overheating because I was running the cooling fan. I understand that doesn't really mean much, but I do have a few concerns if I was using it outside and it was very hot. Where I live it's not going to get excessively hot, we're 100° is exceedingly unusual. But, if I was out in the desert doing some things that sometimes I do with equipment I won't mention, and it's 106° out... To be fair I won't be using my equipment, it will be supplied for me, but...

So overall I'm really happy with this product, highly recommended.

Note that they have. I think three different versions of this, so just be aware. This one claims to be 175 w.

So a Dremel 4300 series claims that it can draw up to 1.8 amps at 120 volts. So I figure on average it'll draw somewhere between 60 and 120 w. For this particular use I was using a kutzall Burr to carve cherry, which is a soft wood. And I noticed no problems. But I think I could conceivably draw over 200 w if I went to the full 1.8 amps, so this might not be the absolutely best solution. But, it absolutely worked for me. And I think if you're really going to be doing a lot of serious work, you're probably not going to be cordless anyway.

Now simply because I have the batteries. If I go with him Milwaukee, I'll probably go for the 2525, because it has a greater speed range, but I don't really understand what accessories I can use with it because I believe it comes by default so that it works with a 1/8 in bit, and I don't really understand if I can get the variable size chucks that work with this. Yeah, time for some research in case this other solution doesn't work out

1st time on the truck 👀IMG_0896.jpegIMG_0897.jpeg
What's the minimum purchase to leave the truck?
I'm a DIY'er and fortunate to have found a local Snap-On dealer. He's great and his truck is always very well stocked and if I want something he doesn't have on the truck, he'll source it promptly. I meet with him weekly and typically drop around $500 per visit. Orange is my favorite color and they have LOTS of orange tools...

USPTO is now issuing patents for lifeforms and naturally occurring molecules. Discoveries, not inventions.
You would be amazed at the sheer volume of patent and trademark applications that the USPTO is being inundated with by individuals who reside out of country. Some of them are quite bizarre, to be honest - particularly when it comes to the trademarks.

I posted on the Milwaukee addiction thread how disappointed I was with the M18 snow blower, shout out to HD for taking it back since I had paid with their store card. Decided to just get what I planned from the beginning. A Honda snowblower. IMG_5383.jpeg

Have you run that thing through any deep snow yet?

I was looking at one the other day at a local dealer (where I bought mine, the previous model). I jokingly asked if they take trades. Sort of glad he said No, or I'd have had a tough choice to make, LOL.

We got 17 inches here over the past 2 days. EOD pile was about 4 inches taller than the drift breakers...

I should be on the Honda payroll.

After 18" of snowfall this weekend, two of my Neighbors are now Honda believers. One Ego twin stage 24" **** the bed due to battery failure, like, legit smoking battery's. After letting it cool down and using his other charged packs, it starts and runs for a few seconds and then turns off under no load.

The other neighbors Ariens died while attempting to clear a snow mountain left behind by the previous day's snow plow pass. Sounds like something internal to the auger drive since the sheer pins are in place and the engine sounds "ok".

Both fixed with my Honda HSS928AATD with no drama.

Got about 8” with some sleet on top, was hoping for the 15” they originally called for but still got a chance to play with it some. Really surprised how easy it is to turn with how big it is.

Today's Snap-On truck visit netted this haul... My orange obsession continues...

I'm guess that's quite a bit more than the usual $500 purchase :ROFLMAO:

edit- unless maybe you got it at half off.

edit 2: nah, even at 50% off, gotta be more than $500
You're right, it was more than $500. The catalog price was over $1600. Dealer sold it to me for $700.
My dealer knows a good, all cash, customer.

Some Cat (Snap-On) tools delivered yesterday... They are a bargain compared to SO, though a bit of a PITA to figure out which Cat tools are actually Snap-On, what is included in sets, and get part numbers/pricing.

Short version for the video adverse:
- Cat chrome sockets are SO and a bargain, as is there 3-piece plier set.
- Cat ratchets are NOT Snap-On (36 tooth Williams).
- Most Cat wrenches are NOT Snap-On (evidently the angle wrenches are). Some are Williams, some are non US made.

I wish they had more than just these 3 snap on pliers. I love the color, but don’t want to buy this set and have just the 3 oddballs

The Cat sockets are an incredible value. Genuine Snap-On sockets for fraction of the Snappy retail price.
The Cat pliers set is a good value too at around $90 off the Snap-On retail price, and with the not available at Snap-On, Cat yellow handles.

I would buy a hell of a lot more SO tools if I was getting a 55% cash discount on them!
I think a lot of us would!

Went over to Earthwise to pick up a little Taiwan-made 4-inch vise. Found a couple other items.
Then stopped at AmericanPawnbrokers to spend more money. Stocked up on new drill bits. Got a spiffy almost-new "Husky" bag.
Did NOT purchase the MATCO front end service kit he had for $157.50, just in case you're local and are shopping for one. ;)

If that ball joint separator is of the same quality my miller tool one is it’s worth the buck sixty by itself

Tekton 1/4" drive, deep and shallow 15mm sockets.

Also got a deep 5.5mm socket, works a charm for hvac actuators on a Chevrolet Impala, I made do with 5.5mm swiwel socket - this is for future work need.

Lastly got a Tekton three piece mini extension set.

Now my 1/4" drive 6point socket set goes from 4mm to 15mm - covers a wide range of repairs from home/electronics/automotive.

Last week I was parked next to a Cornwell tool truck, picked up a pair of long picks.

^ That's why I posted it in three different places here.
Looked pretty stout to me!
(full disclosure: I have never removed or installed a ball joint. Sold a few thousand of 'em, but never had to work on one.)

addendum: if you wave cash under the nose of the owner or his wife, they might knock a few bucks off if you ask nicely.

(While I was there a younger man was negotiating on a 14-pc S-K SuperChrome set of SAE combos - he beat 'em down to $140 cash, but he didn't have the cash on him! He left to go find an ATM machine.)

Lisle. Matter of fact until I looked on McMaster I didn’t know there were other options with the exception of ones for a hand tapper.

I haven't seen other options either. At first I thought it had a chrome finish, but now I see it's the black oxide finish Lisle uses. Occasionally I have a tap that doesn't quite fit the Lisle sockets right, so I would entertain other options of they were available.

Koken has tap sockets. I haven’t tried their static sized ones but I have their adjustable collet style ones and they are pretty nice. Haven’t used them much yet to say much else about them.

When you say variable size chucks, are you talking about the 4486 keyless chuck, or the individual collets you swap out using the standard collet nut included with the Dremel? I don't have the Milwaukee 2525-20 rotary tool, but Google says the Dremel 4486 Keyless chuck will work with it, as well as the standard collets.
