I would recommend you or anyone else proceed with extreme caution and scrutiny when thinking of buying any set like this purported to be original. I don't do FB or FBMP and never have, and I no longer do eBay, but when I did, there were a number of unscrupulous sellers who would grab all kinds of miscellaneous tools typical of onboard toolkits (e.g., Auto wrench, grease gun, pliers, oiler, etc) from all kinds of mfgrs, prop them up on one of any and all kinds of miscellaneous tool rolls, and advertise them as original Dodge, Ford, Jeep, Packard, etc toolkits. Just with one glance this motley kit gave me those vibes and one closer look revealed one of the wrenches in this ostensibly Dodge Brother kits to be a Ford wrench.Hi, I just saw this on Facebook… a pretty cool Dodge Brothers toolkit for sale…

Oh, man--the future used to be so cool! Whatever happened to it?Popular Mechanics Dec. 1956. Some tool advertisements as well as an article about a futuristic bus…
But... before this trend goes too far, if I didn't point this out, I would start to feel like I am encouraging if not directly "poaching" posts, examples, attention, ooh and ahs that would actually be more appropriately served on @kyrbz 's excellent 'Automobile Ephemera' thread - a sort of sister or brother thread to this one, but dedicated explicitly to what we call "paper", in collecting parlance, as opposed to things!...odds and ends that were part of the golden oldies age of early car culture...[ ]...miscellaneous accessories...[ ]...and accoutrements that people used to famously keep in or on their car!
I’m sorry if I have posted these magazines in the wrong post. I will post my remaining magazine articles @kyrbz post. Not a problem.@Ayrhead,
Not that I mind, in fact quite the opposite, for I surely loves me some vintage auto ****, and I could even go so far as to argue that magazines on a back seat or in a glove box do meet my original criteria for...

Check it out!
Vintage Ephemera
Anyone into a vintage literature thread? Could be magazines, advertising, brochures, etc.... I'll start it off with an Artzy Basheff illustration from 1953 for Lycoming. A precision metal and engine manufacturerwww.garagejournal.com
Thanks for letting me know. Yes I agree you didn’t say ‘wrong’ unfortunately I’m not the best in my responses and tend to say the ‘wrong’ thing…. Thanks again.I didn't say "wrong", Ayrhead. Just letting you know of the other thread, which is intended for literature and chock full of interesting articles and ads from old magazines, and their admirers (including me!) in case you weren't aware of it.

That's awesome. I've been collecting vintage Kustom and Hot Rod magazines for a while. If I find just one magazine for $5, that's consider a good deal. But $13 for all those. wow.Picked up a ton of early "Hot Rod" titled magazines as well as some related "Little books" by Petersen Publications (who printed HR) as well as other titles like Car Craft and Rod and custom! Also got 3 of these Popular Mechanics magazines today. Total of $13. I'm so stoked! I love this kind of stuff.
Even had a few of the early Black and White cover HR's!

Not within my originalist intent, but it's too perfect as paraphernalia for the whole dang garage to say anything but hell yes!Does this count as automobile paraphernalia?

Hanging right over the rack full of Champion plugs!Does this count as automobile paraphernalia? Not sure how this ended up in my possession. I think it showed up at my parents house around 1970, or maybe a couple of years earlier. Then I think my kids drug it from their house to ours 20 some years later. Looks like something that should been hanging up in an auto parts store.

I don't have enough horizontal space to have it sitting anywhere. In fact I just dug it out of a storage shed yesterday. I do have vertical space. But now I want to look for a pic that includes the stand. Those didn't hang, they sat on the counter on a base with a rod that extended up to meet the body of the spark plug. Ive seen a few at swap meets over the years. Super cool piece!

I recommend you scroll through the A-Z Index of Threads inside the Sticky thread at the top of this forum to see what else you may be missing! It provides links to all the major, most popular threads, in defiance of only seeing the latest activity on page 1.Been on GJ for how long and I’m just finding this now???

I would like to add one of my mystery tools to the collection. I have an idea what this is, but I am not saying what it is, hoping that someone else will recognize the tool and tell me definitively what it is.

What is it... Strange looking tool...
What is this tool? There are no markings on it as to manufacturer. I believe that I know, but want a second (or more) opinions.www.garagejournal.com
