I like to brew a lot of Chock Full O Nuts NY blend. Its not strong and it goes down easy. Don't get me wrong I like my cabernet sauvignon's of the coffee world. I treat my guests to coffee thats 20 - 25 dollars a pound. But growing up with my dad and gas station coffee, nothing beats CFON and Green Mountain Coffee.

Folgers makes a 'Lite & Easy" brew for a few extra dollars. What I like about it is that it's not decaf and you can down several cups without feeling coffee'd out.

I'm pretty much a coffee hound and drink five to ten cups a day (black no sugar) between work and home. At work we put in five bucks a person bi-weekly and use Folgers ground coffee in an old Bunn commercial drip machine. At home, if I'm feeling lazy, I run down to the corner and get the 24oz 7/11 coffee. I have a Cuisinart Grind & Brew so I buy Dunkin Donuts whole bean. The smell of the freshly ground coffee is almost better than the taste but the coffee maker is a beast to clean afterward.

So an air compressor revolutionized my auto / motorcycle addiction.

Kind of like the day I bought a real craftsman floor jack & stands years ago and shook my head at the little pumper it replaced.

The right tool always makes a difference.

I like folgers, 8 o'clock, starbucks, really anything good. But do yourself a favor sometime and try making this combo. Of course in the garage it's mostly beer in the evening, or I'll run a drip if I'm making more than 1 serving and doing work in the morning.

It's called a french press, and many will say it's the best way to make coffee. I wish it was called a detroit press, but hey we can't win 'em all.

I brew a redneck starbucks -

Old maxwell house that has been sitting a long time like a Navy Chief would like it. Then I burn up a five dollar bill and mix in the ashes.

Tastes the same to me and I don't have to stand in line.

My favorite it Peets coffee Major Dickerson coffee, but that is an occasional special treat as it is pretty pricey. Normally we buy the Guatamalan or Rwandan 3lb coffee beans at Costco for about $12/bag.

We have a "fancy" coffee maker that makes 1 cup at a time by grinding the coffee and then creating a shot of espresso and varying the amount of water based on your selection of small, medium or large cup of coffee. Normally, I have 2 mediums for a cup of coffee, strong and great flavor.

The coffee machine is a Saeco Royal that we purchased 5 years ago and it keeps count on the amount of cups of coffee and we are just over 6000 in that time.

Since the house is about 30 feet from the shop, I just go inside to have a cup of coffee, so technically, I don't have a coffee pot in the garage, but I feel this counts.

Been using the Keurig system. Cup at a time. Fresh everytime. Never go back to drip again. A little pricey per cup but it's not like I'm drinking ten a day. Great for a garage...

Keurig is nice. I buy the big can of whatever Walmart has and it's only about $4.50. I'm used to airplane coffee so anything tastes great compared to that.

French press coffee is the way to go. It doesn't matter as much what the quallity of the coffee is as long as it is coarse ground. I heat up water in my regular pot and use it for the french press. A little more effort but the flavor and smell is way worth it.

At home....Tasters Choice if we just want one cup....or we brew a pot of flavored coffee if we want more.....ok....I'll admit....I put milk and sugar in my coffee.....I'm a wimp.....

At work...I go through about a pot a day.....don't care what it is...enough milk and sugar and still hot...and leaded....I'm good.

I drink a pot or two a day. Black, no cream or suger. Weekdays its usually Folgers or Kirkland (Costco). On the weekend I like to grind localy roasted beans.

Around the house I have a basic ceramic mug, but in the garage I have a wide base plastic mug with a lid that keeps it warm for longer.

As an Italian car addict for me this combination does the job:

Delonghi 4500 full automatic espresso machine

ps: When I visited the US in 2007 (West and East Coast) I was very impressed by a lot of things but not really by most coffee served, only some Italian places and Starbucks like places saved the honour for me.

This is the way to go, if you don't drink tons of it and you can stand a little extra trouble. If you follow the instructions, the coffee comes out smooth and awesome! Very little bitterness...little acidity. Gotta grind it course, and use water that isn't quite boiling. I'm not a coffee snob... I swear it.

Normally just plain Folgers...black and strong.

We have a friend that's a flight attendant and she brings us Pellini Top from Italy pretty often and that stuff is outstanding...

Keurig is on my want list.

I cant drink coffee, it makes me WAAAY to jittery, and messes up my stomach, on the other hand, I would be perfectly happy going through half a gallon of Dr Pepper.

A word of caution fellas.....Too much java can can (and does) cause heart arrythmia (skipping or inconsistant heartbeat) and potentially other health related problems. :shocking: So enjoy your coffee but don't over do it!

Fresh Ground Dunkin Donuts coffee thru a Bloomfield Coffee Maker.
I keep the coffee Maker in the house, and I have a Broken Mr. Coffee maker in the Garage.
It only keeps it hot, but does not brew anymore, so I grind the coffee and make it in the house and bring it outside and put it on my old Coffee maker in the garage.
I never would go through an entire Decanter of Coffee, so it works perfect for me.
I also have a Kureg unit in the house for friends and family who like decaf or flavored coffees!

I buy whole bean Dunkin Donuts coffee from the store. Grind it and brew it in my old GE perculator. Don't understand why, but WAY better than from the drip machines.

I've tried to give up coffee and switch to green tea. A lot healthier. But I still sneak a cup in here and there (like right now). The tea makes me pee more, but I don't crash as hard when it wears off.

Been really tempted to get a Keurig or Tassimo. The Tassimo seems to have more options for different drinks, but you can't brew your own grounds.. So you gotta pay around 50c+ for each cup. Cheaper than the coffee places, but a lot more than it should be from home.

Or maybe I'll try the french press thing after hearing so much good stuff about it. Although the Keurig/Tassimo is good if you have a lot guests over. They can just make their own whenever they like.

My problem is I can never just have one cup a day. If I'm going to have it at all, it has to be at least 2. One in the morning, and then one after lunch when I'm crashing from the first cup.

Also, I've heard getting beans when their still green and roasting them yourself makes a HUGE difference. Supposedly once a bean is roasted, it's only good for a couple days before going stale.

dark coffee. not particular on brands, but i do enjoy this out of town local roaster in columbus ohio, i love to support the smaller roasters

http://www.staufs.com/storeproduct668.aspx

Great place on Grandview Ave. They also supply the Cup O Joe chain in Columbus. I have also seen them in WG Grinders around town.

Good Coffee and reasonable prices. Not as freaky as some other coffee houses either.

Lately 100% Guatemalan .... whether Folgers or Maxwell House. I like bolder tasting coffees, no creamers or anything to change the taste. Although I'm working to cut back some .... I'm trying to cut off the caffeinated coffee by 11 am. I've noticed that any caffeine after noon affects my sleep the following night. That's tough because I love the taste of coffee.
