Update for Oct 20

Had the soffit installed, the starter strips for the siding, some electrical boxes mounted, and finally, the garage door arrived late in the day! :)

Oh yeah, there's now power inside. The panel was hooked up yesterday! :D

Update for Oct 23

Well, we were up early, went to the building center and picked up a load of insulation, R14 for the walls, R20 for the ceiling & rafter vents. Back home, Jen & I started putting it up. She started on the walls and I started on the ceiling. Took most of the day, but it's done. Next is vapour barrier & strapping for the ceiling!

Grading time? I thought the garage was just for 4x4's with that big lip in front of the doors. :lol_hitti

Garage is looking really good. Look forward to seeing more.

Update for Oct 30

Owww...boy, i guess I didn't realize how many muscles I haven't been using! :eyecrazy: Bought 26 sheets of drywall last night. Up @ 5:30am, out to the HD Rental for opening @ 7:00am. Rented a drywall lift and went back to the garage. Got everything organized and a light, and went to work. Worked steady all day, with Jen's help. Ate lunch while working, stopped for 15 min for dinner and done by 6:45pm. Back to HD to return the lift, showered, and now watching the hockey game. I'm sure I'll pay for this tomorrow!! :shocking:

Didn't get too much done today. Swept and vacuumed the dust and debris from yesterday. Wired in the thermostat. Put up a couple of pieces of OSB so I can get the heater installed this week! :D

I see you strapped your ceiling. Is that required to hang sheetrock. This is good to know because I will be doing mine soon. I was looking at heaters like your. Did you get it at Princess Auto?

I don't know whether it's required or not, but I was told, if you don't strap it, it'll sag. The rafters are 24" OC, and you should screw the outside of the sheet every 7" and the inside every 12". By strapping, it gives you more surface to attach it to. I first saw the heater, 45K BTU, @ PA, but it went on sale twice last month for $429 CAD @ the TSC Store. PA sells it for regular $699 I think & TSC for $649. It was propane so I had to buy the natural gas conversion kit for another $35. I did a poll between this one and another two here:

Feedback on Reznor/Hot Dawg/Mr Heater Big Maxx Heaters
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76881

But in the end, the sale price was the bigger factor!

I'm not sure if you noticed but this picture shows you have purchased as propane version of the Mr. Heater :headscrat
Post 67 he states he also got a natural gas conversion kit for it :)

I guess some places sell it either propane or natural gas. The one TSC sells is for propane only and you have to buy the conversion kit separately.
