This was my find of the month. I live in a big military town so sometimes I get cool tool scores when service people move. This was marketplace posted as what initially seems like a sorta overpriced $65 junk tool lot inside a destroyed metal tool box. But I saw an Armstrong maxx ratchet handle, and decided to go for it. Boy am I glad I did. Inside one I pulled out the China junk on top, is the vast majority of an Armstrong GMTK Military Tool kit. Right before private equity took out USA tool making, APEX was able to put together an entire kit for military use where almost all the tools were USA made. There is a SnapOn version that goes for about a billion dollars but the Armstrong one I’ve always really wanted. It reminds me of the final Sears USA made tools I grew up as a kid buying from 2010-2017 era. In my book this kit is a “what if” apex/craftsman/sears USA tool ultimate kit.
Obviously the pelican case isn’t there, maybe one day I can find one empty cheap, but getting this haul for $65 is pretty exciting to me. These came with some slick pieces like the locking extensions, fine tooth ratchets, USA made ratcheting and long pattern wrenches, etc.

Turns out they were in my work van behind the seat, they’d rolled out the bag!
