Too rich for my blood! I miss the original Milwaukee organizers from last year, better bang for the buck. Wish Milwaukee would still offer those as well but I guess they just hold us hostage with a similar version that costs nearly twice the price.

I would order pelican rolling cases before I spent that money on those and I am a huge Milwaukee fan, but those are nuts for what they are.

That's expensive. I use Plano Magnum Tackleboxes as organizers.

I only have one but it's perfect for storing hydraulic fitting caps and plugs. I think I'm going to set a second one up for electrical testing. These boxes are way nicer than the cheap store brand and dewalt versions. I really like that the trays are so customizable and can be removed for cleaning.

Milwaukee's organizers haven't been discontinued - still available here.

All signs point to them being discontinued. No stock anywhere local for the last few months. Since the packout release, they started selling the old style organizers in 2-packs for a smoking deal and now I can't find a set to save my life. I search online and there were a few Home Depot's in Onterrible that had 3 or 4 left in stock.

Milwaukee sure isn't interested in restocking anyone if they are still producing. I won't buy any of this Packout faddy stuff, at least not until they give their heads a shake and stop gouging people @ $80 CAD for a f***ing plastic organizer and glamourized plastic tool boxes.

Sure hope a Milwaukee rep reads this forum.

Hoping to see some ideas here.

I just bought eleven dewalt organizers on BF special at home depot for less than ten bucks each. Certainly no packout but respectably heavy duty with metal latches and supposedly a lifetime warranty. They are now $15 each.

I'm just upset that the DeWalt organizers have no waterproof seal, unlike their Stanley FatMax counterparts.

Let's bring this thread back!

Here's the deal: I need some sort of tool box for my carpentry tools. I have traditional wooden chests and totes. But the problem I'm having is none are fun to work out of and the chests get too heavy to move by myself.

My barn conversion is around 6500sqft on 3 levels, top being 3 separate (unconnected) mezzanines. So I'm working on developing something like an automotive roll cart made out of Milwaukee pack out. The idea is that I can move it in pieces and reassemble the pieces I need into a functioning tool cart.

This (above) is the drawer section (obviously) and has basic carp tools in it. Then I'll add another box with an opening lid to the top for speciality kits (like electrical, plumbing, etc). I'm still working on the kits. What I know is they won't be the sort of kits you can buy. I may have one that is sanding and scraping for example, with a couple electric sanders, putty knives, scrapers, sand paper, sanding sponges etc. Still figuring it all out.

This is what the left end looks like right now:
IMG_8902.jpeg
I've got my big channel locks and scissors at left, then Muti tip screwdrivers in a couple sizes and a Torx multi-tip. These are just Lutz or Enderes. Then Stanley #50 chisels and a putty knife, then pencils. The oiler has air tool oil in it that I use for just about everything. There's a tube of SuperLube hiding in there too.

Other end has the long hook pair for my hammers. Those are Trusty Cook dead blow hammers. The big one is really super helpful for tapping walls, joists, timber frames. Even bumping subfloor together. Love love love that hammer. I've used it a lot more than I thought I would.

The other two are the slimline models, which are my favs. S3 and S1. Then a pair of Stilettos. Every carpenter needs a good pair of stilettos!

Drove a drywall screw into the plastic to hang my Japanese saws.

Anyway, I thought you guys would get a kick out of this.

I like the ammo cans. Anything bigger is too heavy for me (when loaded).

I bought one of those based on bad information that my tracksaw would just fit. WRONG. I really like the form factor. Very easy to carry. Currently empty.

Love love love the labels.

Please tell us how you brought that into existence? Did you print them? That font type is special. Sorry if I'm way off, but almost has a sci-fi like vibe, like a font from Star Wars or Star Trek? looks familiar. Do tell.

Threads like this one are dangerous for my wallet. Especially when timed with the “Buy more, save more” events.

I tried Craftsman, Dewalt, and even Harbor Freight boxes. All were eventually returned and exchanged for Packouts. Non of the other brands hold up like Milwaukee Packouts do. And its not just the excellent build quality, but the extensive diversity In Milwaukee’s offerings and third party add ons. I am so hooked.

But the one real disappointment is the utter lack of a labeling system. Even a flat spot would be miles better than the nothing we have now. I write with a black marker now, but am I’m hoping others here share what they are doing.

The latches came from Etsy. There are several makers for them. You just enter the text you want, and they 3d print the latch with the custom label. Then swap the factory latch on the packout for the custom one.

What? They aren't stick on labels but custom made latches? Is there a way we can declare you the Garage Journal winner for the week?

Has anyone purchased any PACKOUT organizers inserts or addon's from 10 Spot Tools?

I want to invest but I'd like to know if anyone else owns the stuff he makes and if its durable.
