One cup a day for me. I buy whatever is on sale at the store. Anything that resembles coffee will do.

You guys have a sophisticated tool palette, but you sure don't know anything about good coffee. I've never understood when someone is discerning about one thing and completely the opposite on other things. Perplexing...
Brazilian Santos whole bean roasted locally in Little Rock, AR ...ground Turkish fine and tamped at 40 lbs approx to make incredible espresso for my morning shop cappuccino from my Pasquini italian made machine.

my wife and i got a cuisinart coffee pot. the type mentioned above that grinds before each pot (truly a bear to clean), and we have completely changed our coffee drinking. used to be whatever was cheap with loads of flavored creamer. now we like trying all kinds of brands, i am fond of dunkin donuts and starbucks whole beans. being in the navy (currently deployed) i dont get the good stuff that often. cant wait to get home. im tired of maxwell house out of a banquet coffee server. bleh!!!You guys have a sophisticated tool palette, but you sure don't know anything about good coffee. Quality instant, granules not powder. Can't be waiting on a percolator etc, when I want a coffee I want it NOW! And please, none of that decaff' rubbish!![]()

I don't drink coffee for the taste. I drink it for the health benefits.
One cup a day is all that was recommended by my doc.
Yea, I've seen videos on youtube of people roasting coffee beans with popcorn poppers. Would like to try it someday.

Do you think they had the elaborate expresso or cappucino machines that the europeans had?
You're more likely to find this in a European home than any fancy espresso maker:

My wife got me a French Press years ago; don't use it nearly as often as I should. I'm not a coffee snob, but I love really strong coffee. When I'm at the local diner, I ask them not to dump the dregs from the pots that are low - I'll drink it.French press coffee is the way to go..
We had been looking at them, and then found a Keurig Mini brewer at a local thrift shop for $25. Ordered 480 K-cups off eBay for $149, and we've loved it. I've drunk more coffee in the last 2 months than the 12 months before.Been using the Keurig system. <SNIP> A little pricey per cup.
Been using the Keurig system. Cup at a time. Fresh everytime. Never go back to drip again. A little pricey per cup but it's not like I'm drinking ten a day. Great for a garage...
How many things are there in the world that one might be discerning about? Dozens? Hundreds? Thousands? It would be crippling if a human tried to obsess over "the best" in every category, wouldn't it?!
