I'm noticing lawn mower oil filters tend to not list filter specs like "99 % efficiency at 20 microns" there also tends to be no specs on when the bypass valve opens etc. So there is really no way to compare oil filters without this information? For example my lawn mower came with John Deere AM125424 oil filter. Looking at the product page https://shop.deere.com/us/product/AM125424:-Engine-Oil-Filter/p/AM125424, and there is no specs at all. I have found this website https://www.oilfilter-crossreference.com/, which allows you to put in a filter part number and it will pull up supposed equivalents. It seems efficiency ratings are more of a car thing. At trying to find an equivalent oil filter that will work, the threads have to match, I have to have enough length before running into an obstruction, and same diameter, it should work just fine. What is the typical thread used on oil filters? But would putting a car oil filter on my lawn mower be a bad idea, because it may have a higher differential pressure rating before the bypass valve opens? I can get a much longer oil filter to get more filter media.
