According to my daughter, "It is dressing up in reference to an existing IP". IP being, intellectual property. So Star War's conventions when you dress up in reference to a particular character, but not Renaissance Faire where you just portraying a time period and not a specific IP character. MomoCon is focused on anime, video game or comic based characters.

Your friendly PSA for the day. Be careful when bringing your lady with you on your hunt for treasure. She may begin to like it more than you and the back of your truck can quickly be filled with artificial Christmas trees, totes of stamping supplies and medieval knight helmets lol. These are actually pretty cool and should clean up nicely. She can also help you spot a pair of brand new shoes in your size.

Did not find much over the weekend, but did pick up a couple of Long C Craftsman DOE wrenches and few random sockets. The wrenches were $2.50 ea. and sockets were $1.00 ea. not a great deal but I could not pass them up.

Grabbed this little tool box from market place today. I spotted a couple craftsman locking flex head wrench’s. She was asking $60, I offered $40 and we settled at $50. Got a couple of surprises in there too. The wrench’s are 3/8 - 5/8 all ratchet nice, as well as lock up. Then there were a couple of G code snap on pieces. Also had the junk! A couple Dunlap wrenches, ford wrench , channel locks and a few others.
This is an accumulation from a couple of sales this weekend, plus a few smaller sales earlier in the month. I’ve cleaned a few items already but there’s still a fair amount of work to do on the rest. I’ve just tried to group them by manufacturer in the photos.
Clockwise, there is a group of Bernard pliers, various plier and wrench manufacturers, a new Baxter adjustable, a fair number of Williams tools (a lot of forged Superrenches), including a Midget Electrical set No. 1268PR that is full, but of correctly-sized P&C midget tools (ever seen that before?), a cool C clamp, SK amber spinner, Park Metalware multi-head wrench in original box, etc.
Yankee No. 3992 machinist vise on swivel base, miscellaneous open-end wrenches (including Indian Motocycle wrench), some perfect-handle screwdrivers, Cleveland C.T.D. Co. drill bit index, Walden tools including Stevens Spintite interchangeable nut driver set, some unique wrenches and ratchets, Duro, etc.
Various vintage screwdrivers, double-jaw clamp-on vise, New Britain sockets, firefighter seven hole fire hydrant wrench, a lot of greater Plomb family including P&C ignition wrench set, lot of Snap-on tools, Craftsman metric hollow set screw key assortment, Bonney, Champion DeArment/Channelock, etc.

Been watching this for the last few days on FBM and shot a $10 offer yesterday. These are in amazing condition after a wipe down and include all the paper, wrenches and even a boxed 1” standard. I have never seen one boxed before, including all the box flaps… Also came with two fixed squares, they are in Evaporust now. They didn’t stay as protected, but I got to keep the mans tools together.

Been wrapped up in some good Karma lately…I like to believe it has a lot to do with preserving a mans legacy. All these tools put food on the table and helped revolutionize manufacturing. Hopefully I can stay the coarse & Mrs. Insp380 approves…

Keeping…I gave up on selling years ago. I will split the haul up between my inside shop and outside shop. A lot fill in some holes in my Starrett collection and my recent fascination with Mitutoyo. What doesent clean up will be wall hangers. Anything you have an eye on?

My work 6" dial calipers have a chip stuck in the rack, and I wouldn't mind getting a decent one for home, too. The Mitu 0-4" mic set is nice, too.
While on vacation a couple states away I picked up a few things. I did come across some massive finds but only had so much time and space in the car.
Good old Snap On at a decent price but unfortunately everything is owner engraved but they can be used rather than just admired.

Time to pull those apart & clean them up. Not too difficult of a job, just need to be in the mood. Those are Starrett's in the Mitu box …I need to piece that set together & find a Starrett box.

That style of C-clamp requires Vise-Grips to properly tighten.

Anyhoo, just got back from a trip (as you all know), and was scanning FBM, when I happen to see something interesting. An object I was interested dropped its price by half, down into my range, so I scooped it up!
A Dalton Six B-4. This 7 inch swing machine lathe came, as you can see, on the original cast iron stand, with original overhead motor mount. The change gears, steady rest, collet closer, etc. are in the box at the base. I have wanted one of these for years, and this is a great one at a great price. Everything is lightly coated in oil (read: not cleaned in years) and every thing moves smoothly. I will need to clean off the grey paint, but that is no big deal. Seller was moving on his passed father's and grandfather's lathe, as he had never used it in four years. He was happy to see it go to someone so excited about it.
Best part, when I mentioned that I was going to maybe go look at a lathe, you know, just kick the tires, she said, "you forgot a word. Another. That is the word you forgot. You are getting another lathe."
