Mac, I just found your thread a few days ago and have read every post and watched every element of you and Laura's work since the beginning. Then I come to this final page to read the sad news of her passing. My prayers are with you during this most difficult time and I think she is right there with you as you work on the well and pump.

Today was one of the most taxing days for me.
I walked out of the house and saw Laura's car in the carport and my immediate thought was "Oh, Laura's home", and then reality set in.
I had to get rid of Laura's car. I went to a car dealer and was overwhelmed by state of car dealers today. I came home and went online to carvana and the car will be gone.

It's NOMFB, but I'm going to speak my thoughts anyways: be cautious in making large, serious decisions in the next few weeks. If there are things you feel must be done, seek council from a relative, close friend or maybe get legal opinion.
In my situation, I was physically and mentally drained from the months leading up to the loss of my wife of 42 years and was ready to sell property, and take some other less advisable actions due mainly to my somewhat altered mental state. Just be careful of significant changes right now..

This is how things compound to the point that you don't get a simple task completed without a total train of thought derailment.

The lawn guy we hired to cut the grass was not as good as we were led to believe (imagine that). Etta would not go out to take care of her business because the grass was too high, because the guy we hired didn't cut it as agreed upon.
Since I hadn't been using our Z turn mower, the battery was dead.
I don't have power to the car port where the mower lives, so it's either run a **** load of cord out the carport or bring out the little Honda generator. I opt for the generator and it doesn't start.
Open up the Honda and give it a shot of ether and it starts right up and purrs like a kitten.
A half hour later, the mower is charged and starts. I cut the grass and Etta poops.

I had always planned on running power to the carport but now I need to actually do it.
I need to trench about 75' from the RV pad to the carport but the palmetto ground cover is pretty thick.

I put the brush cutter on the bobcat and in about an hour I can see the path that I need to trench.

I have all the wire I need to make the run but I'll have to measure and go buy some conduit to put in the yet to be dug trench so that I can run power to the carport to charge the battery on the mower so Etta can poop.

My dog Duke does the same thing. He hates the long grass - and also rain. Plus there was that one time it snowed and we made him go out in it. He will never let us forget that treachery.

Had a dachshund who would go down to the last step when there was snow on the sidewalk and take a leak right there - it wasn't his feet but other parts of his undercarriage that were sensitive to the cold....
Sounds like Duke. He and his sister Daisy came from a craigslist ad - I bought them for a birthday present. They were advertised as Chiweenies but we had their DNA tested and it came back:
30% Chihuahua
20% Rat Terrier
20% Pekingese
20% Miniature Pinscher
10% Dachshund

So now I tell people that they're Chi-Rat-Ginese Pinscher-Weenies

Congratulations Magic, looks like you found a nice clean machine.
I still have mine and I use it often. Everyone that sees it in operation is in awe.
PM me with your email address and I will send you a copy of the elusive manuals I have for the DTR28.
Someone on the internet tracks me down at least once a year looking for the manuals.

I also have that supplemental floor table for the DTR if you're interested. I have stored it for years because I refuse to scrap it. I will sell it to another DTR owner for a very reasonable price.

It's been pretty damn hot so progress has been slow and it's taken me several days.
I put the two forks together on the skid steer to dig a trench from the RV pad to the carport. I just stick the forks in the ground and drive slow. In no time I have a 12-18" narrow trench. I'm using 1/2" pvc conduit and just glue it up and drop it in the trench and back fill.

I got all the pipe in the ground today and then vacuumed a string through the pipe. I tried the corner of the plastic bag trick but it didn't work with the small 1/2" pipe. I looked around the shop for something else to use and found some foam ear plugs. The vac sucked the earplug/string through the pipe in a matter of seconds.

I'll have to pull a bigger string to pull the wire but I was done for the day.

Mac, I've had good luck using air pressure rather than vacuum. Piece of a shop rag with twine tied around the center, yard blower or even just an air hose and you have to make sure you've got control of the end or it'll all be waiting for you at the far end. I've always figured that the friction of air on the twine is the reason it goes so fast..

Mac I sent you a PM not sure if maybe you didn’t get it because I’m new and perhaps on messaging restriction until I’ve got more posts?
