I have the Lisle brand set. It's made in the USA, works great, and was about $25.

I just mentioned ^^this in another thread. The peices in your kit look the same as mine but mine had NO COO on the label. I bought the Master Lisle Kit and it came in a grey blow-molded box, it looks like the one Snap-on sells that says Taiwan on the Website. Mine cost 69.00 bucks from NAPA

The lisle set is great especially if you get the one with the blow molded storage case. Although overkill, I find myself using 3/4 drive sockets with a short extension sometimes.:wtf:

+1 for the Lilse. I have the master set in the blow mold case, although one of them shattered like glass the first time I used it,the small mom and pop parts store that I bought it from handed me a new set no questions asked. The new set has been trouble free.

I have the small set of Snap on bushing/seal drivers which were handy for driving the bushings into place on starters and generators.

For big seals, either a socket, or a piece of wood, a piece of pipe to drive a bearing onto a shaft.

Rule of thumb: If a bearing is seated into a bore, drive on the outer race to seat it. If it is pressed onto a shaft, press on the inner race.

Jay, that Snap-on set is a bushing driver set. They are overkill for driving seals. You can get 'em a lot cheaper on ebay, if those are what you are looking for.

Done deal. After all the haggling back and forth with the seller I got the SO A257 Bushing Driver Kit for $100. This kit is heavy. SO should give a more sturdier plastic storage as the one it came with shows signs of really being stressed.

JayL, that is incredible! The guy I work with is a transmission tech; he has that kit and while incredibly expensive, he says it has all the special sizes for doing all the special sizes for doing his type of work, as well.... one of his prized possessions! :)

Thank you guys. Your comments just made the deal sweeter for me. Initially the guy wanted $175. Then he called back and said $150. I did not take it and bec I was planning on a much cheaper Lisle or Astro kit. Yesterday he called and said I can get it for $100 if I come pick it up from his place. Drove 35 miles to collect it.

I might not need all the sizes yet but it's good to know that these will be there when a need arise.

I'll be keeping this and hopefully never need to buy a bushing driver again. :)

I once sold a camera on ebay but then I never tried selling anything again there.

I have a lisle set, and am very happy, whatever brand you purchace make sure it has a driver attachment for an air hammer, that makes some jobs unbelievebly nice to do.

35 miles???? That could take up to 8 or 9 hours for the round trip depending on where you go and the time of day.....

I have this set and it has worked fine for me. I still have had 2 use a socket or 2 since I got it for really small ones though.

I got mine from SO. They are a hard plastic with an alumium handle and a steel washer as a stiffner. These are just for seals, not races, bushings or bearings. I believe it was a blue point kit, no case, or holder.

I bought two sets from Napa. Together they go from 3/8 to 1-7/8 (IIRC), I havent used them yet, But they should work fine for my transmission rebuild project. I'll probably need to get a couple bigger sizes around 2" though.

They are Taiwan made rebaged K-D's, FWIW.
