I'm tempted to replace the knobs with nuts for more security.
Maybe 12 pt nuts so they aren't just a crescent wrench away?

Also, is the Pulaski USFS stamped?

I intend to use this primarily as a recovery point. A recovery point failure can result in injuries or deaths. I figure letting someone certified in welding do the job makes good sense.Surprised you didn't make your own.

Yep. The receiver was designed for this bumper. I wanted to save $150 by modifying that center piece myself, so I bought the receiver only. Did a bang-up job of that.Still have access to the receiver pin?

Learned that in my first chemistry class in high school. May have already known it - it was kind of a long time ago.But once again, the warning to "do what you oughter, add lye to water" seems to be what you missed. The difference is, adding the lye crystals to water dilutes them immediately--and water can soak up a hell of a lot of the heat that is released by lye dissolving in water. Adding water to lye leaves you with too little water to dilute or diffuse the heat fast enough. You're lucky it just got hot--often, the water flashes to boiling, resulting in a lye volcano. Lye eats flesh--did I mention that? Lye in the face *****.
Same rule applies to concentrated acids.

For some it is. For us this is a major investment. It’ll be close to $50k when it’s all up and running again. A new planter with the features we’re installing is close to $200k so this is quite a bit less expensive.This is just SOP for farmers. Respect.

Put your part in a baggie with your chosen cleaning solution, then float that in the water in the ultrasonic cleaner. It keeps the machine tank clean and still works well. I put distilled water in my tank. Since it's pretty much a one time thing, it's cheap and clean.Stage 2 of my gas tank sealing. This is the etching stage. So far so good. Sloshed around the solution for almost 2 hours then flushed with water 3 times. Placed the tank in the same location again where the sun will cook it dry once again. Tomorrow is the last stage. Finally to the sealing stage.
Ordered a new carb for my Mueller concrete mixer. After sitting for over 15 years it decided it wouldn't run right without being almost 100% choked. Found a Chinesium carb on the Jungle website. It was so cheap I couldn't have bought 3 cans of carb cleaner for what I paid. I also got a new air filter, gaskets, fuel hose and fuel filter for less that $20! I have a project at work that I will need to use the mixer. It's a good of a time as any. It really needs a paint job. I'm not sure yet if it will get it or not. I don't really use it enough to keep it but I'm bad about not selling tools.
While on the Jungle website I went ahead and ordered an ultrasonic cleaner. I'll be using that to clean the carb for the K code. I got a big one so it is big enough to put the whole carb inside. I've never used one before. I've been told that they do pretty good but to be careful using any cleaning solutions because they will turn aluminum dark. I'm going to try it first with water only and see how that does. Anyone have experience using these? It is supposed to arrive by Saturday.
