Yea we have the largest HF warehouse in north America here in Dillon. It is one massive place. I have tried a few times to ask them if I could get a mail order item and just go and pick it up but they wont allow that. Seems stupid to mail me something that I could just drive 20 minutes and go pick up.

This is all cheap Chinese made stuff but for .98 cents each with free in store pick up they could make cheap stocking stuffers.

It's hard to argue with the price but the 1/4" ratchet set's ratchet did not fit the sockets--or any of my other 1/4" sockets. The "stem" part is way too big. Might want to check that before you leave the store.

They are one of the largest employers in this part of the state. If they were to close it would destroy our local economy. We also have the largest QVC facility in the US here as well and it employs a ton of people.

Re: Knipex @ Lowe's

Found this 10" & 7" Knipex Cobra set @ my Lowe's for $29.00. It showed a yellow "Lower Price" sticker. In the electrical tools.

Knipex-10-7-CobraSet.jpg

Lucky you... the ones near me are still asking about $40 for that set.

EDIT: Nevermind, the website is now showing $29.... excellent... if using the $10 off $25 that means the set would be like $20... that is an unbeatable price. I'm buying a set...!

Yes, thank you...

The funny thing is, even the small one from that set usually costs more than what you show on your receipt

This is my Christmas gift to myself after cripedistributing screwed me and refused to send out the Armstrong set that i purchased and paid for. (they did refund me but WTF) I wonder if that happened to anyone else.

Where's that 10 off 25? Might have to do some last minute shopping for myself tomorrow!....:bounce:

Anyone have a link to the $10 off $25 lowes coupon?

Thanks,
Dan

There isn't a link to them because they were sent to Lowes customers in emails and they are unique to each person that got one so you can not copy them as they will no longer work after one use.

Harbor Freight has some pretty killer closeout deals going on right now. I stopped by the local HF tonight to pick up another free clamp and thought I would look for the yellow closeout tags to see if I could use anything.

I bought this 24" breaker bar for $5.97 (made in Taiwan).

image_135.jpg

Thanks!! I picked up 2. I also found 18" Taiwan breaker bars with no price which rang up at just over $3, so I picked up 2 of those, also.

Thanks for the heads up. Picked up a set this morning. Also picked up a set of the Irwin drill/driver bits for $14 (Stuey's warning noted) just to keep in my truck at work, for the rare time that I need a drill bit.

If anyone needs impact sockets, HF has dropped their clearance prices even more. The Earthquake metric and SAE sets are $11.27 each. With a 20% coupon, that puts them less than ten bucks.

The 1/2" drive deep wall Pittsburgh impact sets were also $11.27.

The 3/8" drive deep wall Pittsburgh impact sets are $3.77.

I already have all these sets, but was tempted to buy more for stocking stuffers at those prices. The Pittsburgh sets are much less rugged than the Earthquakes, but have worked fine for me (occassional use).

What is it about that SC area that makes it attractive to large distribution centers>>>.cheap land/construction costs, cheap labor, location central to logistics plan, etc?

I see $144 too. Don't know what's up with that. Sears's website always gets things wrong. It looks like the search pulls up outdated info but the individual product page is real-time.

I think they are no longer on sale. They go on sale every so often. I missed out on the black Friday sale when these were $99. They went back on sale last week and I picked up 10 of them. They are excellent quality. I think they have upgraded the packaging of them as all 10 were in perfect condition. I had bought a couple of them previously and they were both damaged.

I also bought two of the Seville cabinets that Sam's Club sells and was disappointed in them compared to these. I had to play with the assembly of the Seville cabinets to get them square and both shelves were slightly warped and did not lay flat.

I much prefer the Gladiator cabinets at $99 over the $59 Seville cabinets. If I had to buy the Gladiator cabinets at full price, $179, then I would probably lean towards the Seville cabinets.

the only thing i don't like about the gladiator cabinets is the fake diamond plate print on the doors. i'd probably buy some if they had a smooth face. just not a diamond plate fan

Difficult to tell. Sears.com is so fucked up you can't get a sale price on anything. See the discussion above regarding Gladiator cabinets, for instance.

I had a couple items in my cart from last week, showing full price now. Over at sears.com it says, "all tools on sale." Well, technically they are on sale as Sears will sell them to you if you check out. But they are not discounted from regular price, which is implied by the banner.

If I were running sears.com there would be some unrest in the building on Monday morning.

i went to the store here on xmas eve to see if there was any deals, all the sale items were regular price with red tags on them.

Just for shits-and-giggles I chatted with one of the reps. I told them about the sale banner, the %-off promises, the prices that show up in browse but not in the cart.

He suggested I place my order and give him the order number so he could review it after the fact and apply whatever discounts are applicable. Well, he's trying (not his fault).

I was actually going to buy one small item for in-store pickup this afternoon.

Grrrr.

25% off coupons for new years day only @ Harbor Freight.

Now who will match this that carries Milwaukee 6190-20 cold cut saws?

DONT fall for this ****, trying to get discounts AFTER the order has been placed is a complete pain in the ****. It took me about 2 months of calling to get them to credit my account with the discounts I was due. Just take your business somewhere else, it's really not worth it.

Trying to get a sales adjustment on a Sears.com order is just about impossible. The either want you to cancel the order or refuse the delivery; neither of which are going to happen.

Here's the easy and simple solution:
- Print out a copy of the price discrepancy
- In your order email, there will be two sets of numbers - a salescheck number and a RC code. Print these out an highlight them.
- Bring these two documents into your local Sears store and they can price adjust it.

I got a Weber grill from HomeDepot online for $100 more than it was listed in the store. In the store it said "Online only item." I went back and complained, they said "OK your credit card has been refunded $100" Called back 2 more times before it happened.

I placed an order over one of their midnight madness sales or something back when you could stack a few discounts on top of each other. One didn't go through like it should have, next day, sale was over, called them up and asked what happened. Don't remember the explanation but they said just cancel it and place a new order and they would refund me the difference. I placed an order at full price and had to hound them over and over and over again, even after several people said, "OK, youre taken care of." Sounds like you got someone who knew how to do their job. I got several that did not.

I purchased an item that went on sale a few days later. I applied for their price protection thing and spent weeks going back and forth trying to get my money. One person would tell me it was taken care of and the next would act like I was an idiot. I got part of the amount back, but after too many calls to remember I settled for pretty near what I should have gotten and said forget it. DON'T trust that anything after the purchase will work at Sears.

Huh, I simply made a call and was immediately credited. No fuss, no muss

The best deals at harborfreight right now are the impact sockets and the breaker bars.

Bought three breaker bars for under 15 bucks.
