Any idea of the time period for this deal? Or did you just happen to find it?

I got a "paid" (via Paypal) confirmation but did you get the gift certificate code yet?
Balance= $100. This is going to cost sears a lot of money.....
This is one of those mistakes that is going to end with a lot of people being fussy about being ripped off by Sears when they don't fulfill the offer. Seems like this happens every few months on Garage Journal to one retailer or another.
When you do this, just realize that Sears made a mistake and you are trying to take advantage of them. In all of their terms of use they make it clear that they won't honor price mistakes. Don't get all pissy when they don't let you take advantage of them.
Is that via the code or Just the Email?
I just refreshed my shopping cart and now its showing $200 instead of the previous $100.

I checked the balance using the code and PIN they sent in the email. Obviously they could revoke them/refund our money, but it's less likely once the gift card is issued and confirmed.
Not
gonna
happen
The worst part of internet pricing is that it can be revoked at any minute and be applied retroactively. You agreed to that in the terms of service when you viewed the web site - without even knowing it.
But I hope you prove me wrong. But I'm not bothering to order one.....

so as a retailer i do this "on accident", then taking a few weeks to refund the canceled orders, keep the interest...Ouch.It wasn't just the gift cards, it was all tools. I added close to $1k worth of stuff to my cart and they fixed it right before I went to pay. I did get an initial gift card order in for $300. We'll see if it gets through.
All seems to be fixed now.
I have a receipt that shows my price, if they try to do a run around and charge me the full amount I'll have the credit card company refuse payment. If they revoke the e-card, no big loss.
Sears hit my credit card for the 50% amount, still nothing in my e-mail though.
Meanwhile, I'm sure their purchase traffic skyrocketed. 60+ pages of comments on slickdeals so far in just a few minutes. I wonder how long it will take Sears to sort this one out, and I wonder how many of their website staff are getting fired tonight.

Sears can't fix a 3-day coupon by the 3rd day and cannot activated an advertised "10% off on tools" discount anytime during its 2-day run, but they can cancel promos like this at midnight on a Sunday the day after Christmas....
That seems to be pretty likely actually.Like I've said before, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a calculated "mistake". 50% of all tools and gift cards is a pretty big mistake, but easy for them to remedy. Like someone else said before, they hold your money for a bit, gain some interest all the while showing increased sales before the new year is done.
