I would love to have 5.5%. Here in TX, we're at 6.25% state but the local districts normally tack on 2% totaling 8.25%.
I see that the City of Prescott refers to it as a 'Privilege Tax'. Gotta love the verbal wrangling there.
I wonder sometimes if it would hurt a bit to just have 100% of state activities funded through income tax, and 100% of county/city activities funded through property tax. The state tax would be a simple fraction of federal tax. You could probably fire about umpteen civil servants with a simpler system
It would probably help to have less 'activities' of course.

No sales tax, no state income tax - ya gotta love New Hampshire.

Just picked up my 5 pc Metric XL X Beam Gearwrench set from Napa, already had the SAE bit had to wait to get the metric as they don't keep them in stock for long.

Wouldn't buying the 68 piece Gearwrench set(83000) for $82.39 then using the code lc123 to get $32 off for $50.39 + tax the better deal? It doesn't come with as many ratchets but both deep and shallow sockets in SAE and Metric.
Not sure if it's a HOT deal, but I thought it was pretty good and ordered a set. In Napa's sales book, they have a 3/8" drive, 28 piece SAE and Metric deep Impact socket set for 69.99. 5/16"-1" and 8mm-22mm. Price good until 12/31. Part number NPT-61-0217
Nice set. Note though....doesn't have 3/8" metric deep sockets and the socket sets don't run to some of the bigger sizes. Good deal still.

Oh you betcha! You can add another 10% to give to the state. I recall reading an artice once that the average resident has to work til April 11th or something like that just to pay their state income tax bill.

I bought the knipex online with pick-up-in-store option, $31 with tax.
Also pulled the trigger on the Gear Wrench 68pc set for $82, and with the LC123 brought it to the $52 mark. Heck, keep that in the truck as a spare set for unexpected repairs!

Needed another 3/8" and 1/4" ratchet so I couldn't pass up the sets with extensions and extra sockets. Also needed some more torx screwdrivers to replace some missing ones. Added the spout thing to get over $60 to save $25 w/BIG25 code. Thanks again for the heads up.

try using different codes at different stores. I find that stores in the middle of nowhere work best. I also checked out as a guest, not sure if that matters.
That's a killer deal!!! It's a pretty strange selection of wrenches but the ratchets alone are worth the price.
