I have a Snap On flexible 3/8" extension. I found it years ago, and bought it for my own tool box. But today I saw one GJ person's signature line with tools wanted to buy notes, including a flexible extension like mine. Are these uncommon?

You can see in the photo below that it appears to be new and unused. It is 8" long, plated, but not chrome. Maybe cadmium?

It must be a fairly recent tool, as the type-font looks modern.

Part number FX-61, as seen in following photo:

Note the imprint, "Not Guar" on the side.

The male end uses a friction ball for the socket mount.

I don't see a date code, unless the symbol "I" after the "USA" is a date code? I assumed it was for "Industrial"? I need to find that Snap On date code chart again....

I tried to look it up on the Snap On home page, to see what new ones cost, but couldn't find anything bigger than 1/4". :headscrat Are these discontinued now?

Yes, the replacement is TM61A. I know that's a 1/4 inch but never the less the replacement.

I would keep it if I was you!

I always wanted one and couldn't find one... So I bought some new proto's that are covered under a warranty and they are black not chrome. I also did get two koken that are really bendy unlike the super stiff proto's... I guess they both have a place in my box for different reasons... Nice tool by the way. Let me know if you sell it, I would be interested.

Those never went over real well. People would try to remove a bolt and they would unwind. They made good spark plug starters

My dad has one of these, and I use it to start spark plugs. It's especially handy with the VW Bus because the spark plugs are below the engine tin and difficult to locate at times. And if you drop the spark plug, it staying there!

How much is one of these worth?

I have a Matco one and it's really only good for low-torue situations. As mentioned they are helpful for spark plugs.

Here are the few I have the black ones are the proto's I bought new for cheap and the two on the bottom are the koken and the top one (chrome) is a snap on 1/4.. Also you can see how easy the koken flex version the proto.
