I'd take it back.
Accepting it like that is basically saying to the manufacturer that producing stuff with obvious issues is okay.
That's shipping damage, not a manufacturing issue.

damn, not looking forward to lugging it back into my car and driving 25 miles each way

I would and also explain to them what you had to go through. Gas being what it is, maybe the store will stand by you and give a coupon or something for your troubles, you won't know till you ask. if you return it make sure you check the next one, so you don't go through it again at home
I'm embarrassed to say I can't tell from the photos what is wrong. Is one side bent?
damn safari on ipad
Either way, I'd take it back.
???
How can you tell I'm on an iPad?

I can believe it. You guys should see some of the trucks that we get in. If you have Facebook, check out a HFT page that was started by a corp employee for employees. The pics are crazy. http://www.facebook.com/harborfreightsux

Damn Mike, isn't that a bit harsh? For the most part, large employers have become such chickenshit places to work that over the years, they have managed to kill off much of the traditional employee loyalty of days gone past.As a Harbor Freight employee why the hell would you post negative comments about your employer for the whole world to see? Don’t you have any loyalty? I have always considered myself a representative of any company I worked for and would never rip them in public. Griping is for the break room amongst employees, customers should never see or hear complaints.
If I was in management at Harbor Freight I would make it my mission in life to find your identity and fire you instantaneously.
