Would you take back a HF tool cart for this?

Hard to say. It's par for the course, but I wouldn't be happy with it. See if there's another one NIB that you can take out and inspect before returning home.

I'd take it back.

Accepting it like that is basically saying to the manufacturer that producing stuff with obvious issues is okay.

I would take it back. If you have the cash I would highly recommend the red 5 drawer cart.

I would and also explain to them what you had to go through. Gas being what it is, maybe the store will stand by you and give a coupon or something for your troubles, you won't know till you ask. if you return it make sure you check the next one, so you don't go through it again at home

will do! they had a stack of them at the store, so i'll have them go through them before i leave the store.

also i like the red cart, but think the black one suits me better. someday i'll get the red cart as well.

Thanks for everyone's opinion, i just thought my standards were too high

I'm embarrassed to say I can't tell from the photos what is wrong. Is one side bent?

took it back today, went through 4 others before i got one that wasn't as bad. others were worse.

I'll deal with it for $99 until i can spend the money for something better.

also picked up so go-jack like dollies that are mechanical and not hydraulic. hope they are up to snuff.

I can believe it. You guys should see some of the trucks that we get in. If you have Facebook, check out a HFT page that was started by a corp employee for employees. The pics are crazy. http://www.facebook.com/harborfreightsux

As a Harbor Freight employee why the hell would you post negative comments about your employer for the whole world to see? Don’t you have any loyalty? I have always considered myself a representative of any company I worked for and would never rip them in public. Griping is for the break room amongst employees, customers should never see or hear complaints. :headscrat

If I was in management at Harbor Freight I would make it my mission in life to find your identity and fire you instantaneously.

Damn Mike, isn't that a bit harsh? For the most part, large employers have become such chickenshit places to work that over the years, they have managed to kill off much of the traditional employee loyalty of days gone past.

I buy a lot of stuff from HF but while I don't know much about the company, I'd suspect that it's not exactly a "worker's paradise". I'd also bet that Fatboy probably does not consider himself a "lifer" there. I don't have data but I'd think that retail jobs are probably prone to some of the highest turnover rates in the country.

Very few corporations strive to cultivate, motivate and COMPENSATE quality employees anymore. The result is a vast workforce that collectively just no longer gives a ****. Sad situation but that's just the way I see it.

Its not Harbor Freight, its the shipping companies that cause the damage. I have seen a lot of damaged toolboxes and carts in my years as a Snap-on dealer.

Edit: I guess I was wrong. After reading that page, its Harbor Freights distribution centers that have some packing issues.

Harbor Freight doesn't pay my necessary bills, it just barely pays for my pilot licenses, so whatever. I would never post anything on here or Facebook that I wouldn't tell them to their faces. There have been so many policy changes in the past 2 to 3 years that it's almost not even worth working there. The employee discount is nice but they are even giving us greef about the same items as the 20% off coupon. If you were my manager, I'd tell you to kiss my A$$!
