Not sure how hot of a deal, but I just ordered an IR 231C from Amazon for $112 and this month there is a mail in rebate for $15, so it should end up being $98 total.

Was just at HD and saw these yellow 5-gallon diesel jugs for $2.73!

]

I saw those jugs last week and almost bought one. Then I picked it up, they are terribly thin and almost see through. I wouldnt store water in them let alone
a flammable liquid

I punctured the bottom of one of these cans on a 6x9" block with rough corners. I was filling it and half way full it just tore open. I proceeded to use about 300 different cans on that same block, none of the thick ones had a problem.

I put the cans on top of the block so it is closer to the spout I use, and I let them rest there while they fill. Never would I buy one of these cans.

Yeah those cans are terrible the nozzles alone spill so much stuff on the ground they are worthless. Time to bring back the good old gas cans with vents.

That's about as cheap as I've seen them.

Let us know how you like it when you get it.

I've got a few of the older, American-made model 231C. Heavy.

If they've kept the quality, it's a good gun.

Amazon Deal: Order a Dewalt 12v LiOn tool and get a $25 gift card. Normally, I avoid 12v tools (really, 10.8v), but they made great screwdrivers. Only 2.8 pounds.

Home Depot in Westchester, NY just got a new load of Vaughan hammers. Brick hammers priced out $0.01, nail pullers $0.01. Hatchets and ball peen hammers $1-3.

Bought 2 brick hammers for $0.12. Self-serve machine ate the first dime I put in. Technically I was gouged for 500% but I am getting over it.

No sales tax on $0.02 purchases in NY. Things are looking up.

This tracktor is awesome but has one big flaw in my opinion. I'd like to use it to filter a list of tools with recent large price declines. I can register and have it look for decreases on specific tools. However, I'm way too lazy to load up an alert for every single tool I might ever consider buying.

Yeah, ditto that. My thought was that I'd like the "movers" tab modifiable, so it showed JUST TOOLS and nothing else. I don't care about stereo speakers and Elvis watches, etc...

ALTHOUGH, the Tracktor "movers" tab did alert me to this awesome deal I wouldn't have noticed otherwise...gonna get me about a dozen of these...I'll be the most popular Secret Santa on GJ next year...!

You guys DO like the color blue, yes?

Oh wait... you can buy these used and save some $$...coooool...

Does anybody know how to bookmark the last page of a thread, like this one? I always have to go to the first page and then click to last...

Holy Cr@p :shocking: Unfortunately, the Home Depot in my neighborhood in LA is offering them at full price. They did have a few dollar discount a month or two ago -- about the time notice of the sale was originally posted here.

Might be worth it to take a couple up to the register and see if the posted price is different that the actual price --- because I could use several of those Vaughan at that price -- a whole set of new ball peins would be nice.

Click the little blue triangle next to the thread title. It will take you to the first new post in the thread since you last visited:

I am no guru, but you can do it this hack way -

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29661&page=1000

I put the page # to 1000, but since that doesn't exist (yet :lol_hitti), it reverts to the latest available page.

There is probably a correct way to do it...but that works for me!

No, this is the way to do it. I don't want to have to find the thread in the list and then navigate to the last page. I just want a single bookmark that puts me on the last page. I think (what the heck kinda name is this) fr0mastaj has it right. I'll try this. Thanks Fro!

Yep, Fro's method works like a charm. Very clever, there, Fro...my main man!

Definitely sending you one of those Amazon deals I found on Traktor a page back, for Christmas!

You're very welcome! I frequent this thread way too often too :(

and if you must know what the heck kind of name this is:
My friend (who is my barber now) gave me this name many years ago and it kind of stuck. My hair is super thick/coarse for some reason, so when it gets long it doesn't fall down to the sides like usual..it tends to sticks out in every goddamn direction... my name is Jeff...and thus i was dubbed Fro Masta J. :)

If you are looking for cheap bottom roll around tool storage, sears has a 4 drawer 26" on sale for the next two days for $55. They aren't ball bearing and they aren't heavy duty but they might work for someone looking to store lighter items in their shop. Item # is 00912729000.

I picked the top box up for use under my work bench because my real tool box is running low on room. Works well enough for rarely used tools.
