Glad I got in on the file deal this morning, prices already went back up.
Yep, me too!

I ordered them this morning on my phone via 1-click and it defaulted to standard shipping. Luckily, I was able to change it to free super saver before they processed it any further.

Is there any way to determine what items Sears/Craftsman has on sale at any given time?
Yes and no. It might be possible to do so if you have access to their product data feed, but some of Sears sale prices are not built into such listings, they're discounted on the fly.

So it's just sheer luck when you find something on sale? That's what it has been for me anyway.

Like for example, I recently purchased the Craftsman Professional Pick Set and that was on sale. I think I heard about it on this forum but had no other way of finding this sale.

I would check those discount sites like slickdeals or fatwallet daily. Also check your local Sears "weekly ad" which is available online. Then you can sign up for email alerts from Sears. I don't think they tell you about specific items for sale, but sometimes they email you 5-10% coupons.
They also used to have this thing called the Craftsman Club but I don't know what happened to it.

If you have Kmart where you are, sometimes they sell the same Craftsman branded items for a little cheaper.

Finally, be on the lookout for ACE hardware discounts and coupons, since they now sell Craftsman stuff.

You could try this site: http://www.easypricetracker.com/

I don't have any experience with the site, but I know it will give alerts to price drops at sears. You can click on "departments" and select "tools" and browse the discounts.

There are other sites that track more stores than Amazon and Sears.

Sears has an advertised price drop alert system on their site but when I tried to use it I had no joy.

Hope this helps.

At Sears you never really know what its going to cost until the bar code is scanned, either at the register or one of price checking ones around the store, and then you still have coupons etc to wonder about.

I don't know if this qualifies as a tool but it does qualify as a hot deal. I was at Home Depot looking for graphite for my son's pinewood derby car. An associate showed me the dry tubes but also led me to a cart on an endcap that had a graphite spray that was on clearance for $.15. I knew I couldn't use it for the car but I grabbed 3 cans anyway. It turns out they rang up at $.01 each actually. This happens when a product has been on clearance for a while and is supposed to be sold out. They put the price at $.01 because the system doesn't allow an item to have a price of $0.00 and they need to keep the product in the system.

Anyway, the product is 5.5oz spray can of Jig-A-Loo Graphite Extreme. Since this is a clearance product your mileage may vary.

Just received the Bahco wrenches that CorcoranCrawler posted about from this link:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...&condition=new

For under $55 dollars delivered the deal seemed to be a decent buy as I was looking for some nice wrenches to put in a tool roll I had to go in my truck. For the price I thought the wrenches would be imports but they are in fact made in the U.S.A. The wrenches appear to be well made with the only weakness I can find at first inspection is that a few pieces are a little spotty on the chrome inside the 12point section although I can also point to a few SO wrenches that have the same issue so it may not be a big deal. The wrenches are thicker in the handle but I like that type of wrench as it doesn’t dig into my hand. Hopefully the attached pictures give you some idea about the quality and style.

I have not used them yet so I can’t comment about their functionality but if you were looking for a nice set of wrenches at what I consider a very fair price these may be just the ticket for you.

Michigan tools are made in china. And trade on the name 'Michigan'. Then write 'made in china' in a VERY obscure place. They specialise in melting aluminium cans and pouring them into moulds that slightly resemble tool shapes.

I bought a bearing puller when i was in a fix one day. Useless thing bent in half in about 30 seconds.

Dont waste your money.

UB - don't be disheartened. i just had a bad experience with MIT. we need people like yourself to keep posting the deals you find. there are plenty of people who follow this thread and love the deals it provides. regards

Picked up a pair of vaughn mallets tonight, $.01 ea. So at least here in Columbus theyre out of the system.

Were these at Home Depot? Seems like it is in line with the Extreme Graphite post. If so, is there a way to determine what product has this status? I'm in there all the time and don't see things like this marked. It's entirely possible I'm walking right by it though!

If there are just a few of an item or maybe one or two, and there is no place for them on the display rack, they are just on the shelf or behind or under other stock, or they are in the reduced pile. Even reduced items with higher prices on them may have been reduced to .01
Just run them through the self checkout. Got 3 cats paws/prybars that way.

The other 2 smaller sets are also back on sale.

The second "maintenance" set is back up in price, but it was on sale. Glad I jumped on the first set-- got two! With shipping, $30 dollars.

Now I can list my HF set on CL for $10. (I know, I just paid $4 for them, but, that seem to be how CL works!

Don't forget to tell them that you paid $20 and that they were only used once. Grossly inflating the price you paid...it's the CL way!:lol_hitti:bounce:

Home Depot Husky 20 drawer stacking tool Boxes

Home depot

Husky upper box $199

Lower Box $299

10% off coupon from post office ( moving packet)

Net out $448

maybe someone can find a 20% coupon and be $399 for both

56" wide and chin high ... didn't measure
bearing slides.... seemed like a nice set of boxes
with HD side handles and HD casters.

Another box. Got the Cman Club Flyer and the only thing that popped out at me was a 14 Drawer 3pc Quiet Glide Combo setup for $290. Maybe with another discount it can be gotten closer to $250? Seems like a lot of home owner storage for not much cash. Pretty sure its the black friday price. Anyway the sale price will go active on Saturday.

Just got a box from Amazon today myself. Damn, I should have opened it. Now I am out of town til Tuesday. Looks like the files showed up (I ordered multiple sets). Time to watch ebay as other scarfers are likely to put them out there soon.

Guys,

This thread is just about deals. The postings about personal dates when Amazon shipped or receiving packages at the door step related to the Nicholson file set deals belong here: Nicholson File Deal (Amazon) - Feedback.

These postings are ruining the spirit of this thread since it now takes extra time to read about current deals and harder to perform searches within it.

Thanks,

Dave

Tell you what, go to the link, look at the top of the page, all the way to the right, and click on "Deals and Bargains." There you will see a little bit down the page a link to items "70% off or more." Start fishing.
