Hello all,
Lurking for awhile as I researched for my building and got lots of great info from the site. Glad to be able to finally start my own build thread now that my project is underway.
I've planned for a few years on building a 48 X 32 with 10' walls and scissor trusses on half the building for a two post lift- with the other side having storage trusses.
I intend on the "lift" side to be more of a shop use for hobby restoration and the other side to be a "cleaner" side to be used to store the two Mustangs that currently occupy my attached 2 car. Not sure I will know what to do when I can actually use my garage for my daily drivers...
Anyway, if I've learned anything it's that you guys like pics, so here comes a few- hope to build on them as I go. Slab gets poured tomorrow and I am pouring an integral-dyed concrete for a little nicer look. Based on my research and use for the building I will be applying a densifier for dust control.
Thanks to everyone on the board for an excellent source of inspiration and information.
End of my driveway with initial building location outlined
Electrical service had to be moved temporarily (will be replaced with underground) and tree stump that had to be excavated
Facing the back of my driveway where the building will be
And facing the other side towards the elementary school next door
Footers dug- had to do a few levels due to drop
Footers poured:
Fast forward a bit- foundation block is in, brick in. Front of the building will be fully bricked as well
Service door on the side for my Kubota tractor and mower
Plumbing is in and inspection complete
A small bit of fill and tamping left for pour tomorrow:
And one of my Mustangs waiting for the new stable:
Enjoy- hope to have more updates tomorrow...
