I would much rather buy the actual Gearwrench brand for $14.99 at Advance Auto and be able to warranty them just about anywhere.

Better yet. Buy them online for in store pick up. Just did SAE, Metric and some gearwrench screwdrivers totaling around $60. Use code big 25 and get 25 off of anything 60 and above. Each set ended up costing around $8.88 for 5 wrenches. Might get a second set of each as a backup!

Looks like you can still get the 10pc SAE set for $30:

I got the 10pc metric set at Sears a couple months ago for $25 (marked down to $35 plus the infamous $10 off coupon).

Thanks for the Craftsman Screw Driver Deal. Picked it up today and have been playing around with it for the last few hours.

Asked the guy behind the counter if he would honor the online price. Called the manager over and he said it was only online deal and that he couldnt/wouldn't do it. So I ordered it on the phone with in store pick-up and told him to go get it off the shelf. The clerk just laughed.

I bought that Hitachi set and used an impact driver with it yesterday to do some serious driving and it was awesome. Best $10 I ever spent on bits. The bits are hard, durable and broached well. They are all impact rated. The only issue may be that the set is somewhat limited. Like there are 3 or 4 of each "type" of bit.

Shows as out of stock online, 4 at a few local stores, but won't add to cart for local pickup or show a price.

I could not resist sending Amazon back my Bosch screwdriver PS20-2A (though I got a killer deal and only paid $54). When I reconsidered whether I should have gotten the PS21-2A (see earlier posts a couple pages back suggesting this), I ended up really liking the Dewalt model because it has much better work lighting, better ergonomics, one hand load and the ability to take 1" bits instead of just the 2" ones. The chuck is pretty much like the Wera Rapidaptor. They had a $20 Fathers Day sale and I was able to get this for under $100 today. Anyone considering a 1/4" screwdriver should look into this. Dewalt DCF610S2 is really sweet.

Sears has Craftsman 10-pc 6 pt. 3/8" Dr. Socket Wrench Set in (standard) or (metric) for $9.99. Select in-store pick up to save on shipping.

You don't need to buy online, they were that price in the store.

Okay another option is to go to the store have them ring it up and ask for a price match, then go to the computer kiosk they have (something called "let me find it for you" or something like that) and look it up through the website and show it to the associate. This is actually the way I did it and they gladly matched the price. If that dosn't work pm me and il ship you a set reasonably

mygofer.com a sears store has free shipping on orders over $44. Go over $75 and use GOFERDAD and get $10 off and free shipping. Also the prices are 10% lower in the cart.

Ordered GearWrench reversable metric wrenches, GearWrench 2pc roto ratchets, 10mm Cman pro stubby combo for $63.22 after 6% tax.

http://www.mygofer.com/shc/s/p_10175_27151_00910172000P $29.99 - $3.00 = $26.99

10% and free shipping offers end today! Also the coupon only works once, no multiple orders. I tried that already.

Make sure you click the show all results button, otherwise the choices are very limited.

Sears has the cross force 8 piece metric and standard sets on sale for $39.99
They are made in the USA and are polished. Not a bad deal for the last of the USA made craftsman wrenches.

Just saw that at Sears when I went to pick up my impact sockets also, might have to pick that up too.

Sears has their professional pliers on clearanced and marked down below 50%, I picked up a 8" diagonal, lineman, 6" slipjoint and 8" needle nose for $35.

I also noticed that my local Sears still has a stock of the older made in USA professional wrenches too.

How often do those Kobalt 30 gallon compressors go on sale at Lowes? I called mine up and all they have is the display model. That isn't a problem, but I was just wondering.

Thanks Scout, that is an XLNT deal. Their prices seemed to be really unusually skewed when comparing price-per-socket on much larger mechanics sets. It doesn't make sense. The only thing I would watch for is getting Taiwan-made sockets instead of USA-made sockets (or ratchet).

Thanks again,
Steve

I "watched" for over a year before I bought mine and never saw a sale, I ended up buying it as the price was jumping from $399 to $429, it was still listed at $399 on the website and they were kind enough to price match, plus I had the 10% off moving coupon, so I only paid $369. I have had mine for almost a year now and it is great, but this is the first sale I have seen on them. So my guess is not very often.

These aren't all USA any more, I bought them a few months back and the ones at the front were all China and they had a few sets of USA ones in the back. I asked the clerk to get me the USA ones and he was kind enough to do so. It seems almost all the Craftsman tools are being outsourced and replaced with overseas stock. It's really sad. I'd say 90% of my hand tools are Craftsman and as far as I know the only ones that aren't USA are the locking pliers and the pass thru ratchet set. If I were starting out now it would be much harder to say that.

I just got home from Sears. Went looking for the professional line of torx drivers. They had the 7 pc stubby set in stock, but it wasn't on sale. Went to check out and it rang up at $20, instead of $29.

awesome thank you!....plus they are an additional 15% off in my cart.

They showed as $4.10 the first time I opened the page and then $3.75. I just drove to the store and needed two sales associate to locate them (they were very helpful and have always been very helpful to me in the past). Web site said they had 2 in stock, their computer said 3.

They had 3 indeed, I bought 2. Now the web shows out of stock, though they still have one left... so lesson learned... if I want an item and it shows out of stock, call the store, they may have it!

I also love the email your receipt since I keep a database of all my tools (with receipts, user/service manuals, images, ...) and it means I can just make a PDF from the email and not have to scan the receipt.

As far as the Bosch taking only 2'' bits, I just tried a 1'' bit in my brand new ps-21A and it clicks and holds it very snug....
