You are WAY better off not buying the Harbor Freight sharpener and spending a little extra for a Northern Tools Industrial Sharpener for $99. I bought the HF sharpener and its was worthless. Then got the NT sharpener which is a China clone of the $400 Oregon 511a Industrial Sharpener.

HF chainsaw sharpener. Cheapest I have seen it! Plan on picking up 2 for different chains.

I've never used one of those, so don't flame me too bad, but what is the advantage of sharpening the chain off the bar, or do you guys sharpen chains as a business?

The only time you might need one is if you screw up your chain and you need to take alot of material off.

It only takes 10 mins or so to do a 24" chain by hand, get a little file plate and an even easier to not screw up.

As a homeowner burning and cutting 10 cords a year, I do all mine by hand.

Gear Wrench 8909 9 Piece Metric Geared Nut Driver Set - $23 on Amazon right now. Only 2 left in stock
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HBDW4S/?tag=atomicindus08-20

I would get one...but dont need one...

If you like that then you may like this better:

Several ebay sellers have it for ~$60 with shipping. Vortex adapter works as nutdriver, broader array of sizes plus extensions and 10 flex ratcheting stubbies. I bought a set.

I'm would guess original retail on this set was over $150.

I thought so too, but when I called the nearest Lowe's and gave them the stock number (266590) they had 2 in stock. They were on an endcap and listed at $25.67 but I showed them the screen print of $9.98 price. Initially they told me to order it for store pickup but when I told them I tried that and it showed none available they modified the price to $9.98. Its a pretty nice set and is made in USA. YMMV regarding the price match but if you really want one it might be worth it.

This is not a super deal yet, but the nicholson files are coming down in price. If you missed the deep discounts the last 2 times you might want to keep an eye on them again.

$31 has been listed at $42

I have a feeling these will keep coming down until someone bites, so if you are still in need of some files then keep an eye on them

Alright, here's my contribution to this great thread. As we all know, Craftsman's club saver days started today and continue through the 16th. There's a decent amount of tools on the sale page. Most noteworthy to me are the following:

Craftsman 26 pc. Metric 12 pt. Combination Wrench Set

http://www.craftsman.com/shc/s/p_10155_12602_00946936000P?intcmp=cm_deals_july2011-HT

Craftsman 26 pc. Standard 12 pt. Combination Wrench Set

http://www.craftsman.com/shc/s/p_10155_12602_00946935000P?intcmp=cm_deals_july2011-HT

These are normally $69.99 each. With the Craftsman club discount and the 15% off online tools today, I got them out the door for a total of $84.98 (before tax).

Use code Sears2011 to take another $5 off. For some reason it comes to $80.73 Before tax...

There are two craftsman deep impact sets (metric and standard) on sale for 50% off too and then you get 15% off additionally... Stack it with the sears2011 coupon code.

Unfortunately, one of the sets wasn't showing 50% off in my cart so I had to place my order over the phone. They were going to "escalate" the web site issue. I'm guessing it will be fixed on Monday.

I use to be a member as well. They made it painless to sign up again. I just entered my gmail account info and became a new member that way.

The first impact socket set is #15886 Standard

and #15887 Metric

Literally since I snagged these links the prices went from $44.99 to $59.49. Hopefully they will change the price in the cart so it reflects to 50% off.

I bought the 72" HF roll cab about a year ago and have been looking for reasonably priced side cabinets or lockers for it ever since

And it looks like this is as low as Northern Tools is going to go on them

http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200365363_200365363

I oredered 2 of them, For 300$ each you really can't go wrong
The quality is on par with the roll cab
And if you have one close to you it's free shipping to the store

I'm not sure what is up with the Craftsman site either, but I got a great price on the SAE impact sockets.

The 44 dollar price didn't show up, but when I logged in using my Craftsman club number I got a price of 38.** after a $25 Craftman club discount.
With ca sales tax, and in store pick up, my total price was only $41.**

I think there might have been an additional Midnight Madness discount for ordering online. Great price for a quality tool. Thanks.

Youch, you must have a big house or no insulation!

I run a file on my chain after every tank, but it gets to the point where it needs to be "trued up" on the sharpener cause even with filing it doesn't cut great anymore.
Sure I could spend the time and dial it all in, but it's faster and easier for me to just swap the chain and take it down the saw place. Costs $5 for them to sharpen it and it's as good as new.

Use this link to do the shopping instead of Sears.com

Make sure you are logged in to your members account and don't worry about the price until you are actually entering payment info, then make sure the discount/prices are all correct.

Worked for me, I even tentatively rang up the impact sets and the pricing was correct at checkout, just didn't pull the trigger on those.

Still broken for me. Hell, the price is higher after I logged in with my Craftsman number. You'd think for a company circling the drain, they wouldn't want their website so broken people can't even order properly using it...
