Craftsman Full Polish means made in China.

No it doesnt, they'd been selling the smaller sets sans the "Professional" in the name for years. The 18pc set i mentioned comes in a red and black box, says nothing about "professional" yet they are indeed Cman pro wrenches. Been that way for quite a long time.

That's $10 per tool. IMO not a good deal.

Check your local Sears. I found this set in the clearance section for $4:

These are awesome tape measures. I have several, and love them. I'll be checking our Sears tomorrow morning!

Now that really is just like Sears. When I looked it was very soon after the original deal expired, and it instead became their Deal of the Day, which reset the clock to 24 hours. Sometime after that I guess they switched their deal to something else - or else their web site was screwed up, which is where I put my money. It used to be a real adventure getting the right price to come up on their registers in the store if there were some coupons etc. involved. Now I think that volatility has moved to their website where things go on sale with no advertisement, and the deals end at random times.

I am curious how the original person that saw the deal came across it - in the past, I've only come across those by sheer luck while visiting their website.

On Sears website, they have a link that says "DEALS", mouse over it and there's a drop down list. One of them is "Deal of the Day". They usually have some decent deals. I try to check it out every day.

Ah so it was *yesterday's* deal. That must be what happened then, at midnight it should have switched over to the new deal but instead it showed the previous days' deal and reset the clock. Not sure how long it took to change the item, nor what would have happened if you tried to buy the wrenches before the item was fixed.

A little hilarity picking up the wrenches today. The store had 1 metric set in stock, zero SAE so they had to order those. Went to pick up the metric set today, and they were not the US-made ones. Put them in the car, decided to look around the store, and saw they had one set each of metric and SAE in the store, and the metric set was US-made.

About 40 minutes later (lol) I had swapped out the metric set for the US-made one (the stock numbers were the same so they had no issue doing it), and picked up the SAE set they had in stock instead of waiting for the ordered set to come in - I figured the ordered set was no chance to be US-made. They had a lot of difficulty tracking down a manager to ring everything up properly - that is Sears. I will say, their employees are always very nice and they were overly apologetic to me for having to wait.

Now I will probably check the other 2 area stores to see if they have the SAE US-made set and swap them. If the stores weren't all so convenient to my home or work I wouldn't do this, but since they are - what the hell.

And THAT, my friends, is the new reality of Sears. They can't get ANYTHING right the first time, so they've become better at apologizing for their screw ups. I still buy a few hand tools from Sears just for the convenience of replacing them if they fail when I abuse....err, CHALLENGE them. But I always follow my own prime directive - NEVER buy anything from Sears that has a cord on it!

This deal is now active on Sears.com, available for shipping or pickup arrangement online. I tried some coupons in cart and checkout, none worked.

Discontinued product deal: Craftsman #35309 - 309 pc mechanic's tool set (196 sockets) - $199.88, regularly $300 at Sears.com. This was on sale in last year's Black Friday circular for $249.

I'm told this is discontinued; the sockets are not laser etched or dual marked, but otherwise I think this is a solid deal. You can not purchase online, but the in-store locator link will tell you if you can find it locally. I was able to place a phone order (Sears card holders only) and picked it up in the merchandise bay an hour later.

This lamp isn't really a hot deal, and it costs almost twice as much as its 19.2v counterpart, but it's something I'd buy if TTI had it under the Milwaukee brand instead... Craftsman's new Nextec 12v fluorescent work light, $26 on Sears.com. I first saw this a few weeks ago, but I tried it out this weekend in store and it works flawlessly. You can never have too many lights, and the price isn't out of line compared to other compact cordless fluorescent or LED drop lights. I have the Craftsman C3 fluorescent lamp, and the packaging makes it a bit unwieldy when it's not sitting on a flat surface.

KNIPEX 88 01 300 SBA Alligator Pliers

Amazon has these listed as $8 and change if you buy from them, it says temporarily out of stock but order and they'll ship when they get it. I ordered a pair. We'll see what happens.

pretty good price, but looks almost like the ones lows was closing out in the 2 pacs a while back, But I think they were "cobra". What's the difference between cobra and Alligator?

Cobra has the push button adjust, the Alligators adjust like regular channel locks by tilting and sliding. The jaws are the same AFAIK.

Patience, my brothers, patience.

I've had out-of-stock deals from Amazon sit for months, then ****, it's in stock and shipping. Amazon does not charge you until the item ships.

I just had 2 items ship that were ordered in June: 1000 pack GB 10" zip ties $4 and Staedler drafting rules $1.11.

I don't get it. When I click on either of the Knipex on Amazon links it shows that they are In Stock, but not at the killer prices talked about here.

KNIPEX 88 01 300 SBA Alligator Pliers: $30.68 "Only 8 left in stock--order soon"

KNIPEX 88 02 180 SBA Comfort Grip Alligator Pliers: $23.59 "Only 6 left in stock--order soon"

Anyone know why this is?

Amazon showed the same thing, for me, when these deals were originally posted yesterday. Other's posted that they were out of stock and it was showing in stock for me but at normal prices. This isn't the first time I've seen this happen either.
