Review: Harbor Freight US General 56" rolling cabinet

has any one thought of just using 2 26 inch boxes?
I know its not perfect but will work and won't cost a $1000 or more either

I bought this box today. and am super excited to get all of my tools into it. I just got the drawer liners cut in to it. it seems built really well and will be a nice upgrade from the 2 3 tier craftsman boxes that i just sold. box was 999 on sale for 799 . when i called down yesterday to check stock and told the associate that it was my first time at the store he told me about the inside track club which tool 20 dollars to setup plus a 10 dollar setup fee it took another 100 of the box and the setup fee was given back to me in a gift card so that made the total price before tax 619 So i think i got a screaming deal.

i will update with more pics soon so far i am loving the box.

PA carries international boxes in blue only, I've also seen these boxes at Costco. Certain International boxes can be ordered through costco.ca. I was thoroughly impressed with the international brand I got to play with. I Recently starting working with a guy who bought an international branded box back when he was still in Poland 20 years ago. The old friction slides still hold up to all the carbide he has packed in there. According to the international website the boxes are made in Quebec. I also have a buddy who has a bluepoint roller cart which we swear is just a re-branded International.

Big box has width and depth, and what you pay for are those BIG drawers. If you don't need it, sure skip it, but I think having the larger drawer and work surface on the top is worth a fair bit.

There is a small latch under the handle on the right side of each drawer to get them open.

I know this Fitz. Im stationed on a boat and our shop is littered with Lista cabinets, i basically reach for a latch when opening drawers in my kitchen its such a habbit

I just replaced my 2 26" Craftsman boxes with this one. It was a GREAT upgrade. the 26'ers had no depth at all to the top and middle sections. honestly the HF 26" box is really nice no roller slides but still an excellent starter box.
i have actually thought about using 2 of the HF 42" rollers but I just wanted 1 box and I love the gloss finish to this one. I will take pics of the slides and post them. the cards included to make drawer id labels are a nice tough too i with i would have had a label maker but i think they came out nice

how do you like that centech temp gun ? i was thinkin bout gettin one of those.

it fit in the truck nicely, a few ratchet straps and i was set. unloading was a royal pain, i backed up to our drive on alignment rack and coaxed it onto it with a prybar. i only work with one other guy he has an older snap on box from the 80's i am sure he will like it i will let you know how it goes tomorrow first day getting to put it to the test.

yeah, when i moved my krl761, it only needed 1 strap to make it highway ready. but i used 2 straps.

that guy, get a pic of his box. i bet he may want one like yours.

oh, btw. how far is your HF from you ?

mine is about 20-25 mins from me. but it is about 10 mins from both moms houses. and i go to their houses every weekend.

mine is about 75-80 miles in Monroeville pa near Pittsburgh.
the other Tech really liked my box and spent a good amount of time checking it over.

the drawer locks on the side bothered me esp. since I am left handed So i thought about removing them. a few balled up paper towels in little pea sized balls inserted on the underside made quick work of keeping them open I may re enable then not quite sure.

first day with the box was great can not wait till tomorrow.

loving the work surface on the top.

by the way. i have had mine for a month now and my only complaint is the white and clear drawer handle id cards that they give you slide out the sides. i just need a good idea to come along on how to secure them .
