Been wanting one of these for a while...the Thread Checker. This is exactly the one like my local Ace Hardware has. For a long time, this was on my 'wish list for gifts,' which means I'd like to have it, but I probably wouldn't buy it for myself. Lately, just about every time I go to the hardware store, I have to remember to stick some bolt or nut or machine screw in my pocket, to see what size it is. It finally occurred to me that for the price, this is worth having at home...

Just got my orange micro toolbox and ratchets from 07forester. Great guy for helping out us poor GJers that couldn't get these sets through normal channels. Much appreciated!

Where are you finding these gems? LOL

Well you can thank Canuckian for the clear, usually on ebay, some you get for good prices, some you pay more for. Depends on how bad you want it...........LOL

I have the complete red Dale Earnhardt headed my way as well as Rusty Wallace and Bill Elliott versions. Now gotta find the Dale Sr in solid black..............LOL

Then go on ebay and see Dale Sr in yellow and black...........:shocking:

Here’s what I picked up today- A Snap-On 3/8" 6-point metric general service set. I purchased from a truck mechanic who had it as a backup set for a year & a half without ever using it.

Just got some comfort grip/quick release ratchets, and a pick set.

For the record, the 1/4 quick release (TR72) is NOT 7 7/16'' long as S/O states, it's the same length as the non q/r version, (T72) 4 4/16''.

I specifically got the 1/4 non-comfort grip because S/O states the 1/4 comfort grip as being 9 9/16'', which IMO is too long.

Yes and for the record the THR72 is not advertised correctly, it's the same length as the THL72.

Yea, that would seem more appropriate.

I hope it's not too much of a hassle to get it switched now for the comfort grip model, I just got off the phone with the S/O man, he said they'll credit my money back so I can exchange it.

I have the comfort grip, it's a must for larger hands. I believe it(THR72) is the same length as the TL72 but I don't have it nearby.

Have you noticed any more play in the QR heads Vs. Non-QR?

Mine seem to have play when extensions etc are used.

Yea, that was my first thought, it has to be between 6-7'' long, which IMO is just right.

I haven't used them yet actually, I just got them in the mail. The only thing I noticed that seems a little off I guess, is that the 1/2 seems a little too quiet, compared to the 3/8 and the standard 1/2 I had. Not worried about it tho.
