Heres my story:

My name is Christian Moss, I am 20 years old and I currently live in Boulder Colorado. My passion, ever since I can remember has always been working with my hands. I remember when I was about six, some video game of mine broke, and instead of bringing it to my parents, I took it apart and tried to fix it myself. When I was eight years old, my dad bought a 66' mustang, and let me help him work on it, ever since, I have been obsessed with working on not just cars, but anything mechanical. I realized out of highschool that I wanted to become an industrial designer, which involves building and designing projects daily (score!). I have been paying for my college education by working on cars on the side and also building cabinets for a local company.

The reason I think I deserve a high quality toolbox is because I will be working with hand tools for the rest of my life, and I already have far too many tools to fit in my current boxes. At the beginning of last year I purchased a harbor freight roll cab, only to find out that when I got home, it was still too small for my needs, and I would greatly benefit from a larger box. I use my tools daily, and already, I can tell that a few of my drawers in the box are getting difficult to pull out.

Here are some pictures of my box and garage:

As you can see, all of the drawers are overflowing with tools

I could go on, but I don't want to fill a whole page with pictures.
I could truly use one of the boxes, I would love the 33, but either would be a huge help to my organization and situation. Another main concern of mine, is many of my tools are not locked up, and If my tools were stolen, I would be SOL.
I would never sell it, and it would be used every day for the rest of my life, and I would pass it on to my children.

Thanks so much for the chance!

Well I may not be the most deserving person on here but I would love to have either box. I have been wrenching for 6 years now, I am 24. I live on my own and I have been working out of my dinky Husky box that doubles at a teeter totter for about 5 years. I can't afford to buy tools and a nice box so I choose to buy tools, at least until I am satisfied that I have enough tools for every job and I don't have to borrow tools any more. I don't have any sad stories or anything I am actually pretty happy with how my life is right now, but I have been "trying" to buy a new box for years now and I just do not see it happening anytime soon unfortunately. I have been contemplating getting a HF box because that would definitely be an upgrade, But My dream box is definitely an extreme green triple bank. I am responsible, I work hard, and I am a dedicated gear head for life.

I will not be entering, since I have sufficient tool boxes (If not as nice of boxes) as some of you probably know. I'm simply posting to reiterate what has already been said so many times: What an incredibly generous thing to do! My hat is off to you man.

p.s. My sympathies to your Fiance; she's sure to have her hands full with this one! :willy_nil

It is funny, I have never gone through life feeling as if I "deserve" anything. I get by with earning anything I have. I may not have alot but it is all mine and I paid for it. It kinda makes me happy sometimes to look at my "stuff" and see how far I have come. That said...this has to be one of the most unselfish things I have ever seen done. I am in for $50 of the shipping if you will accept it. I truly hope the winner enjoys his or her box. Please post pics cause I wanna drool :O)

+1. Awesome thing to do!

I don't have a toolbox and can't afford one at the moment, which ***** because my tools are all out in the unheated barn and all of the stuff that's not chrome plated. However, I've been pretty lucky in life and there are others here who are far more deserving.

Good luck to everyone who needs one.

I would like to try for either. I can't think of a reason why I'm deserving of it but I would love to move my tools out of a $25 footlocker from wally world. Also if I was to win I can guarantee it would be the back ground in all my future tool pics. :D

Maybe I should give a little insight as to why i'm doing this, along with who/what i am.

Being the youngest of 10 my mother instilled hard work ethics into me. I was one of the ones who was always taking things apart and really always had a fascination with tools.

At the age of 12 I had this got bit by the car bug, HARD. It was the first thing I thought of when waking up, and the last thing I thought of before I went to sleep. My mother thought I was a little insane. I would save my allowances to go to the junkyard, buy engines and completely disassemble them using my fathers tools. All the meanwhile my grandfather and I had a very strong relationship. I would help him tinker with his cars every chance I got.

Fast forward to the age of 16. I started up my very own business. The business model was to deliver/provide aftermarket parts and the BEST customer service you could ever imagine. With my savings and a few bucks loaned to me, it began. At this time, I had picked up a few other hobbies as well. Car audio and racing.

Moving forward a few years, that small drop ship business turned into a large storefront with 10 employees, with a full service operation in place. I was making money hand over fist. During this time I was also a loan officer for lehman brothers bank. You could imagine the lifestyle I had and was busting my *** to make it even better every single day.

At this point you probably think i'm a conceited *******, and you'd be right. Then, I didn't care about anyone but myself and my family. I maintained that VERY strong relationship with my grandfather and we built a few cars together. He was with me at EVERY racing event I had.

The motto I was living by then, is familiarized by a quote in one of the songs I listen to today. "All about I, give the rest of the vowels back"

I was living in CO at the time and decided it was time to move back to where my family was, which was IL, so I did so.

A few years ago, my grandfather died. He was many of things. An oil tycoon in the early years, into investments, etc. I won't give you the entire scoop because I really don't want my entire life story on the internet, but he left his entire estate(s), car collection and "wealth" to me.

I built an amazing home, an amazing store for my audio business, and an incredible space which I store the car collection. I was living the dream, but something was missing until I met Stephanie. She made me realize that life is about giving back, no matter what. She made me realize that just because you have XYZ, it doesn't make you a better person. She's grounded me from my high of a million feet above earth. She's made me humble, granted I never really talked about much of this before, but i'm even moreso secretive about my life now. You would never guess that it was me, a highly tattoed, shaved head, simply dressed, punk looking "kid" just parked a lamborghini in the parking lot.

Which got me to thinking, I never really "did" anything for anyone but myself and my family. I never went to a shelter to give food for the needy, I never volunteered to help build houses for the people devastated by disaster, I never helped people in my enthusiast community. All of which are in full swing (in a sense) as we speak.

Sure, I outgrew those boxes. Really, I could have kept them and added onto them but the light bulb went off in my head. Why don't I get myself the boxes I want, and give these to someone who needs them?

So here we are, me changing from the kind of assholeish guy I was, to the giving person I am today. I appreciate all the guys on here thanking me for even having the gull to do something like this. However, i'm not looking to be the cool guy. I'm looking to help someone in need. In the past few months i've decided to help people more, in reasonable ways.

Hope that was worth the reading, now...back to the stories!

This is a great thing you are doing!!! Best of luck to whomever wins.

Starting in 2001, my grand plan of life has been thrown one way or another by major events. On March 31, 2001, my wife and daughter where involved in a major car accident. My wife was paralized from the neck down. Still in a chair to this day. Been married at the time for 5 years. My daughter was ejected from the truck during the roll over( slipped out from under the seatbelt, but she is fine. Suffered several broken bones. Had to sell out condo since it was a garden level with stairs. Renovated part of my parents home for us to live in. Lived there for a few years.
Finally bought our own place in 03. Renovated that house, spent a considerable portion of our saving on it. A couple of years later fond an ad for physical therapy study for people with spinal cord injury. Only thing was it was in upstate New York. The study was done to determine the viablity of providing physical therapy after one year after the accident. The majic time that insurance has demined it does not provide any addional benefits. So I transfered jobs from Denver, CO to Syracuse NY for five months. Worked four days a week and particpated in the study the other three days. During this time also provided transport to another study particpant. We were very fortuante with this study as this was the first time my wife had walked since her injury in 01. Hopefully this study will help change the ways that insurance looks at therapy for people with chronic injuries and conditions.
During the course of the study we incurred significant expenses. From room and board to the cost of living was higher than home.
By 2007/2008 we had exhausted savings accounts with the cost of doctors, meds and the likes. We were at the point of losing our house. Tried numerous times to work it out with the morgage company. Tried for over a year. Finally just gave the house back to the bank.

So my wife an I moved to Pheonix AZ to live with her mother. I had enrolled at Univeral Techincal Institue. Attended shcool full time and worked a full time job, driving across town to the tune of 130 miles a day. I wash lucky to get 4 to 4 and half hours of sleep a night. Did that for 16 months. My wife was the greatest throught the whole time from packing all three of my meals for the next day to letting me sleep for most of the weekend. After graduation, found a job as a diesel tech at Westlie Ford in Minot, ND.

So it was time to move again, that makes six times in less than a decade. Packed up eveything in Pheonix and what we had left in storage in Denver and moved up to Minot.

Best of luck to everyone. And a BIG thanks to 07Forester for giving away his toolboxes.

Jesus, you're one hell of a man. You're the kind of guy people need to be modeled after. You sound like an awesome husband, and an amazing dad.

Jeez kiddo, you're pretty packed in there. An industrial engineer is an amazing career path. An older friend of mine is one and he LOVES what he does, given the day that is.

Stephanie LOVES to hear peoples stories. She hears some pretty amazing things at work on a daily basis, so a few "normal" people is a blessing to her.

Maybe we can start a pool for a third option? Maybe a roll cart for someone in need? Whatever we don't cover as a group, I will take care of the rest.

I've been contemplating on changing my roll carts to the newer style version like these...and then donating my original ones.

Not in the slightest. Stephanie is doing something like this in her field of work as well. Just not to this extreme.

Hey guys, this seems like the help i need so heres my story:

All of our family lives in Maine. We would take anfamily trip ever year.we visit mom and dads family every year see the relatives every year. Due to the downed economy we lately havent visited and the communications become some what poor, but theres still a hour conversation with family now and again. But recently Uncle Keiths luck has turned against him. We recently learned his wife got cancer :(. And that keith is having a little trouble since a recent job lay off has him searching for work. He has resorted to shoveling snow off roofs to help pay. He also had a project car which was a 1978 corvette which was his new toy/pride before his misfotune came to him. Needing the money for medical pills he tried to sell his car. But with little luck he found it hard to do. Amd still having pride in his toy he refused the lowball prices he was getting. Seeing how desperate he became my dad and i hatched the plan to buy the car. Shortly after my thousand dollar savings (i was saving for new snappy epiq box) and some money he had saved up for some form of s toy were sent to him, along with another 1k for the transport truck to ship it here. A week later on saturday morning the open carrier transport arrives and drops off the red '78 vette. Covered with a thick layer of dirt and rocks in every crack this thing was beat! Two hours of cleaning and we hadnt even gotten to the inside! So the car sits around and school comes around, i took our schools advanced automotive class and longer part short i work on the car at school. The things highly rusted many problems it has issues. Our recipt total for parts was rising and rising. Midway through we talk to keith whos misses his prized car but was grateful for the money. So after many talks me and the pops decide we are gonna do our own "overhaulin" were gonna fix this sucker up and its gonna go right back to keith! So at the end of the year the car was gonna come home and next year be finished at school. But with the downed economy our school was hit hard! And auto was cut from our school which threw a huge wrench in our system. So the car had to come home and we lost all specialized toools our school had. During summer i did everything i could with my 6 drawer box but it was really of no help. So i had to get a job at the local grocery store to help pay for the new tools. I got some money and was able to afford a die grinder and other things. But being stupid i did forget the masks when griding rust off floorpans. Sickness and brought me to a hAlt for a month. Projects really just been crawling along layely dad cant help anymore cause were a little short on cash. Not to mention the race is on to finish it before i leave for the Army.. So i think ill probably pick up a second job if i can manage that and school because if anyone deserves a gift in life i do truely think its my uncle. The guys taught me a lot of lessons in life. And he worked hard for everything he bas and i think its time that he gets something back. He taught me what i know pretty much vard work is the way to get whag you want. And that you can always do what you set your heart to, even if someone tells you that you cant just show them wrong. I dont expect to win this box to be honest.Theres a lot of peope here that do truly have stories that far surpass mine. But i guess if anything when reading this, try and help another out. Sieze the chance to help one another. I appreciate you giving back 07Forester. I truly think that who ever wins here will probably be pretty darn happy
Thanks guys,
Collin
And Kevin

P.s. Ill add some car pics tomorrow since its dark out right now, and the green krl1033 would be nice or if its already gone the 1022 were not picky haha beggers cant be choosers
Thanks again for looking

My name is Sean Conklin, I have been a member on the site for a little while now. My interest in working on cars and trucks started when I was maybe 5 or 6 when I would sit in my Grandpa’s shop and watch him fix his old trucks. He could fix anything and I knew that’s what I wanted to do when I grew up. I dropped out of high school (not my finest idea), got my GED, and started working in the mechanical field at Airport Auto Salvage II when I was 17, pulling parts and doing small repairs. It was amazing, the most fun job I’d ever had. I then enlisted in the Marine Corps on March 24, 2008 and have since been on 2 deployments and had 2 more beautiful babies. The most important thing in the world to me is supporting my family.
I have been enlisted in the Marine Corps for the last three and a half years and am currently with 2d Bn 5th Marines and am a 3521 diesel mechanic. I will be honorably discharged as a Corporal on my birthday, December 8th, when I will move home to Edgewater, Florida with my wife, two sons, and daughter, where I will be pursuing a job in the same field. All the tools I currently need for my job are provided by the military. In order to transition to a field that does not provide tools, I have accumulated a basic mechanics set here and there from different places. My problem is that I have nowhere to store or lock up my tools. Considering my tools are my livelihood, I would be royally screwed if they were stolen. I currently store my tools on a 5 tier MDF shelf I bought at Walmart for $50 dollars, and the rest of the bulk tools are in milk crates they were throwing away at work.
When I move home in a little over a month I will be starting a new job and buying my first home (thank you VA home loan!). I will have my trusty cheapo Wally World workbench for my new garage but will need a box to put my tools in at work. The transition will be difficult paying a new mortgage payment and buying the rest of the tools I need over time. I simply don’t see how I will be able to afford a roll cab.
Both boxes are amazing and it would be a dream come true to have either.
I have read nothing but amazing people in astounding situations posting on this board, and in no way am I saying I deserve anything more than anyone else. I think it is an amazing thing you are doing and it is proof that there ARE still good people in the world. Regardless of your decision on the recipients of the boxes I would like to personally thank you for being such a generous and selfless person. Semper Fi.

Sean,

Amazing first post!

Let me first say THANK YOU for protecting my family, and OUR country. You're a brave soul to go over the pond to the sand castle. It's stories like this that made me wish it was easy for EVERYONE to acquire tools.

What does your current tool set at home consist of? Just the very basics? Is there any way you could list some specifics?

hey, me i don't think i deserve what i have to be honest, but i worked hard to get what i have now. a couple of craftsman boxes that suite me ok for now. but really need a bigger box.

i work for the local small engine shop here in town, i work day in day out with my hands. i live and breath mechanical things. its my true obession really.

like i said i don't deserve these as it isn't material things that make us happy its love and family that make us happy. if life was only about getting things well i don't think id make it too far. im just a 24 year old guy who is trying to figure out if he knows what to do with his life.

i hope someone gets these boxes and it makes life eaiser for them.

ill be out there trying to help all of you who need me, im just like everyone help one another and it comes back to you.

I am going to head out to my garage to take some pics of the tools I have. I will post them as soon as I swim my way through my cluster of a garage.
