I looked at at least 30 HD stores in So. Cal. before finding just two stores - within a couple miles of each other - that had the DP 1550 in stock. Woodland Hills and West Hills. Didn't check today, but as of last evening both showed one DP left. Good luck convincing them that they actually do have it in the store. At least in the Woodland Hills store they should know what you're talking about. Here's what I used to check the inventory. http://sd.site88.net/homedepot.html

Joe, I was wondering the same thing myself. The obvious difference is that the impact driver uses impacts, while the other one is a more traditional clutch type, such as found on a drill. So basically you have a drill and impact driver in this kit, or that's how I understand it. There is a bit of overlap, of course.

It took about a week for them to arrive, I originally ordered just the HD set since I have two drawers of Craftsman drivers but ordered the non-HD drivers today.....another $70 plus shipping poorer thanks to this forum

Hard to pass up at ~50% off though: http://www.wihatools.com/special_09.htm

Be sure to click on the FREE TOOLS button on the front page (they really should move this to the checkout page but were nice enough to add mine after the fact after I emailed them for the last order)

I ordered just one or two of the other ones with the longer blade (straight blade), because it's nice to have a little longer blade for some things like adjusting screws, clamps, etc.

I didn't even see the pliers sale, so I emailed their CS and asked them to add a set of the combo pliers, which they did this morning before shipping LOL!

Ugh, my wife will love seeing more screwdrivers come in. I'm gonna sell some of the others though, or toss them in the truck kit. :lol_hitti

Gear Wrench 3870 7 Piece Magnetic Oil Drain Plug Set - $31.97

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HBC73U/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Been watching this for a while, wouldn't bite it at the $50 its been but this is the lowest ever, eligible for free shipping / prime two day. Hopefully no more dirty hands pulling the plug out.

Found a guy on ebay that has the same thing for $30 shipped

http://www.ebay.com/itm/390290387773

Heads-up - Gearwrench X-Beam 8-wrench + bits ratcheting wrench set is about to be on sale via Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004YKGBFA/?tag=atomicindus08-20

DEAL DEAD!

Same guy above has the 5pc for $24 shipped
http://www.ebay.com/itm/330555546425

He also has what I thought was a great deal on dewalt impacts AND he does one heck of a job combining shipping too, just make sure you WAIT for the revised invoice. All he does is weight the lot of tools and gives you THAT price which is pretty darn fair if you ask me!

Picked up that 3 pc red handle Craftsman prybar set that was $20, still made in the USA and I must admit they leave the HF ones in the dust, there really is no comparison and quite frankly an insult to compare them too the HF ones!

Not really a "hot deal" as it's regular price, but Sams Club has the Channellock 7-piece ratcheting wrench set for $24.63. It's Made in Taiwan and appears to be the same as the Kobalt set which is $59.99. Probably the same as the GearWrench and others as well.

The picture shows SAE, is there a metric version?

Missed out on the bosch deal, but a month ago, I just purchased the same set from Home Depot. It puts my dewalt to shame. I just used it for a kitchen remodel, and I really like the weight, ergonomics and power of the drills. I kept saying, If I ever see them on sale I might pick up another set...

I think I saw it here a couple weeks ago, **** maybe months ago but the Bahco 10pc comb wrench set is down a few bucks again on amazon to $57.62
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004BJ0EM0/?tag=atomicindus08-20
I know they had it last year for like $45 or am I thinking of something else?
The 9pc metric set is also a so so deal @ $52 both have free shipping.
Am I wrong or are both of these full on Snap-on Industrial sets branded under JH Williams? They look different, maybe it's just the pictures.... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DO0KK2/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Ref: Ridgid Drill Press

I checked every store within 3 hours of my house.

Not a single one anywhere, I was surprised.

While I won't totally dismiss the online inventory accuracy, since they were located in California (good score !!) I can tell you that in my case today, it was completely wrong, on several separate accounts (Secaucus, Totowa NJ), and in conflict with the actual store inventory system the employees use where it showed in stock at 2 other stores. What follows is a bit long, but I'm posting this to help those who are still searching.

Online showed 2 in the Secaucus NJ store. None in Lodi, none in Paterson, none in Totowa (besides zero in every other store I looked at within driving distance).

When I got to Totowa, the helpful (seriously, he was great) employee checked his handheld device and it showed not 2, but 3 in stock. A thorough scouring of the store turned up nothing. His system said Lodi and Paterson each had 1 (while my looking online said they had zero). He personally called each store, and asked them to do a VISUAL to confirm whether in fact it was really in stock. (He said anytime you call ask them to please do a visual check, otherwise you could be wasting your time if you drive a distance).

Both stores, after a long time searching, came up blank. Dejected, I thanked him and left.

Driving home, I almost passed the Totowa store (which had shown zero on the online inventory when I checked) but decided maybe it was wrong. Damn, if it wasn't !! Right there, at belt height on the first shelf, was a sealed box. I grabbed it of course. On the way home, I checked the Riverdale NJ store hoping they had one (for my brother) but no good.

So folks, the moral of the story is, it's worth checking in person, at every store you can get to. The 3 I thought had 1 (or more), had none, and 1 that had none (according to the online system) had one.

Hope more of you have the same luck I did.

It's best to check in person before calling. Imagine if you were an associate at HD and someone called looking for a insanely discounted drill press and there actually was one on the shelf. Would you tell them there was one there or take your 15 minute break and pick it up for yourself?

is 300-864 right then? someone else earlier said 430-264

430-264 is the SKU that worked for me in the store. After I put it on my cart, the employee in the Tool section checked the price for me, and that's the number he used. It came up at $74.03, but, when he did a search of the other local stores, for some reason the price showed $299. Two different types of searches, but that's still screwed up.

You're very welcome!

Also, Ridgid WD1637 16-gallon shop vacuum for $50 (details via TG). Deal looks to be in-store only.

Last night there were pallets of those things on the third tier, I counted at least 8 pallets with what looked like to be 10 on each.

That rigid drill press is driving me crazy, like the rigid table saw a few years back with the marble table, so elusive.

Thanks! So it looks like it will probably be a holiday special, not necessarily a BF-only one.

I remember the granite table saw closeout. I think I remember seeing them on BF last year or the year before.

Checked 2 more home depots for the press tonight, no 5 foot long boxes any where that I could see, however I did score 6 of these for a penny each at one store and got 5 more at the second store. Reciept was so low I didn't even pay tax on either!

8FT Monster Home Series Component Cable
SKU: 514-497
Was $44.74
