Thanks for the reply. I've already been drooling over your guys website. Any idea on pricing for a stainless top for the 900 series triple banks? Do these toolboxes have any sort of draw catch?

No worries! The more people post the better :)

Griff, I'm not sure I could guesstimate the price because it depends on the base as well. I'd urge you to chat with a distributor. Just call up your local rep and they'll be more than happy to help you, I just dont want to give you the wrong price ball park.

By drawer catch, do you mean can you open more than one at a time? The answer to that one would be no. Sorry, I still consider myself a newbie with all of this lingo :)

Linda, you should convince the fine folks at Lista to come by my little one car garage and build it out with your cabinets to show the folks here at garage journal just what you can do with your products. Im not that far from you guys!

Linda,

I like the red box in the pictures above. Do you have a data sheet on this? In particular I am interested in the overall size and drawer sizes as well as price.

I have been looking at the Strictly Toolboxes web site and am about to choose a box. Before I do, I would like to know how Lista compares. One advantage I see, is that I may want to use Lista for garage cabinets in the future and would like everything to match.

Thanks,

Kent

Hi Kent, sorry for the delay. I'm still confirming but to me it looks like the following model: TSDW09C07-1402FL-M

No problem.

My snap on box has these little things that hold the drawers closed. When you want to open one, you have to move them to one side then pull the drawer open. This prevents multiple drawers from coming open on their own. I guess I can ask this another way, are the drawers setup just like the traditional lista parts cabinets? I understand they are different sizes.

Thanks,
Griff

Hi Griff,
Yes the toolbox drawers have thed individual drawer latches, or IDL's.
I hope that helps...

Do the IDL's go all the way across the drawer pulls and allow you to open the drawer with your hand at any position along the drawer pulls? Or do you have to release the IDL at the drawer pulls edge?

HI there,
the IDL's are in the corners. Here's a photo that will make it more clear than I can. See those black "dots" under each drawer on the right hand side? Those are the IDL's. They can go on either end of the drawer, depending on what you prefer.

Damn, some of those would make for a nice kitchen!

Anyone remember Monster House and the show where they did use tools boxes as kit cabinets? They used too much diamond plate for my taste, but the idea isn't too far from what IKEA sells.

Except Lista has to be way better.

Doesn't the red one look like a kitchen?

Kitchen styles constantly change and are one of the easiest visual cues for the 'age' of a house's interior decoration -- I guess it's also how the appliance companies stay in business. I don't doubt that one day the 'new look' will be something akin to high-end toolboxes. After all, the two rooms have similar types of functionality, with 'tool' storage and work surfaces important in each.

Of course, then kitchen fashion will move on to something else. Shops will almost always look like shops.

i dunno jack, some of the shops on here look more like surgical rooms and rec rooms and yet heavy work is done in some of them.........yours for example with a tile floor is one example............20 years from now the workshop i imagine will look very different from what we have now with the international exposure of the net and the advacment of technologies..........as for listas for kitchen cabinets , i might consider it..........

List price is approximately $8,700 with the set up shown. Distributors would likely discount over $1k off list.

Dims for the overhead cabinets are 36"w x 15"d x 20"h. They can be 16"h as well.

This set up includes powerstrips and there are two light fixtures up under the riser shelf.

Man, that riser with cabinets above sure looks nice! Can the riser be had with other configurations like with a door/lock and can it be deeper?

Hi there, I'm sure you can have different configurations for the overhead drawers. Jamie Roark, would you help on this question as well?
Thanks!

Not sure I completely understand what you're asking. Would you want the riser to have a door on the front of it with a lock? That can be done by stacking cabinets.

The risers are 15" deep and can be stacked or if you want, you can go two deep on a 30" butcher block top.
