My buy.com confirmation said Hobart 187. I just received a confirmation / important details about your order" email from Wayfair that had the item at the bottom listed as the autoarc 130. Definitely seems like Wayfair thinks it is the autoarc 130. They probably have no idea we think it's the 187.

The Hobart 187 is no longer listed on Hobart's Web site when I click on their currently produced wire feed welders. They are now listing a new Handler 190, so I assume that this is a closeout deal on the 187.

X2, I responded to the email and stated my intentions to refuse the shipment/contest the charges. Probably ought to just cancel but will probably stay with it risking the hassle.

Yeah, I sent them an email also, trying hard not to blow up everyone's spot. Just said that they sent me a confirmation for the wrong item.

Quick googling shows the Autoarc 130 kit avail for $405 so this is a good price but not a steal. Also it looks like the Autoarc is a cheapie version of the Hobart units. Glad I passed.

I guess the welder deal is now currently unavailable. If it ever was available, that is.

I just received a confirmation email that listed the 130 - I never received anything that confirmed the 187 unit. I replied to the email saying I ordered the 187 so we'll see what happens next.

The reason I jumped on it is because it was the second go-round for the deal. I would have thought if they took it down, and have been dealing with the previous orders for a few days, why would it go back up incorrectly again and show new stock? I still have serious serious doubts that any of us will get a 187 for that price, but it gave me just enough hope to try. We'll see what they say, but I'm sure we'll be getting the "sorry but your order has been cancelled" emails soon.

Just received the email from Wayfair. It lists the Hobart 130. Responded saying this was not the item I ordered. Looks like it's not going to go through for me either. It was worth a shot.

Thread Detective on sale at Rockler.com for $10.99 down from $15.59.

Not a huge discount, but enough for me to order a metric and std set.

Every garage could use these.

Another vote for a deals sub-forum. It's not a huge issue for me but I do think it would improve readability/organization on things like the Hobart deal.

I like the idea of a sub forum, I just hate how much longer it will take me to keep up to date. This thread is easy, scan the thread, done. In a sub forum I would need to view every post in every thread (to get the same level of information), which will be a lot more time consuming.

Thought about the thread detective, but my most recent thread hunt was for a 5/16 28, not in the set, so I am back to looking for a couple nice thread gauges.

I just got a confirmation email for the Autoarc 130 welder. I called up Wayfair support at (888)269-1459 to tell them I received a confirmation for the wrong item. The person on the phone told me there was an error on the listing on Buy.com and they ended up cancelling my order.

I don't think you do get it.

The deal is not dead *yet*.

He is in his own case at the moment because he called and they cancelled the order over the phone. But, for the rest of us, at the moment, we haven't heard back, so the deal is still on for some of us until we hear back and/or receive cancellation notices. Until it is confirmed dead for most everyone else, I happen to appreciate any updates so we can navigate the situation together, and hopefully improve our odds of getting the deal. Sorry you couldn't or didn't want to get in on the potential deal and therefore don't seem to care for the updates.

Based on my phone conversation, Buy.com has told Wayfair that an Autoarc 130 welder was ordered. Wayfair had no idea that I purchased a Handler 187 at all. So my guess is that anyone that placed an order will be receiving an Autoarc 130. After that, maybe you could get them to pay the return shipping and waive the initial shipping charges because it was their error to begin with. But I doubt very much that anyone will be receiving a Handler 187.

Lowes has "Deal of the Day" Dewalt DW718 miter saw for $379 but checkout does not work for the item.

http://www.lowes.com/ Look for "Deal of the Day" banner on the top right of webpage.

Can anyone get deal of the day at Lowes.com to work all the way to checkout?

Ok, the DOD is over but now this saw is $399 which to me still seems like a decent price?

$399 on Amazon, no sales tax for most of us and it ships free. Using 10% off at Lowes would slightly offset it plus you would have it immediately. Good, but not amazing deal.

Yeah, nobody is going to be getting a 187... it's just going to be a mess. I'd cancel. The 187 is discontinued and I bet they have nowhere near the stock to ship them out even if they did honor the deal, which they won't.

If there was a snowball's chance I would have ordered it, I need a welder! :)

I didn't order one, but I don't mind the welder updates. Good to know how a deal is progressing, in case I find out a deal is for real, and can jump on it if desired.

It's a little annoying, sometimes, to go through pages of deal chatter but it takes little time to scan the text and move on. And it's better than just listing deals with no idea how they're working out.

16-drawer roller is $299.99 on sale at HF with ITC membership, I'll be headed in for a refund today. $60 bucks is nothing to sneeze at! Obviously HF coupons are a dime a dozen but these seem like good deals and a good time to buy.

In addition, I received another coupon for $99 for the 4-drawer black service cart. I bought both of these items and am very pleased. I'll look for an online coupon for the service cart.

Let me know if anyone needs one and I'll try scanning it.

Just received an email from Wayfair stating that the listing was a mistake (obviously) and that they have cancelled my order. So I guess it's over. Good luck to anyone still hoping.

Careful with the shipvantage trial period. I have heard tons and tons of stories of people not being able to cancel or cancelling and still being charged.

STAAAAY AWAY FROM SEARS SHIPVANTAGE!!!! Sorry for yellin but it took me about 2 months to get out of it. They have a 30 day free trial but the fine print reads must cancel within 25. I cancelled with 15 days and they tried every trick in the book to deny my refund. Only after filing with the BBB did I receive full refund. I love Sears but that Shi%vantage has got to go.....

Yes, I did some reading up on ShipVantage and calling to cancel is a giant cluster. However the cancellation link on the website appears to actually work.

Got my email from Wayfair.

The Hobart 500527 Handler 187 MIG Welder & Cart you ordered was mistakenly listed as a Hobart Welders Autoarc 130 Welder in our catalog. As a result, the system registered you as ordering Hobart Welders Autoarc 130 Welder . We're very sorry for the mistake and for any inconvenience to you.

To make this easy as possible, we have cancelled your order and will refund you in full.

If you have any questions, problems, or we can help you in any way, don't hesitate to contact us directly at 1-877-WAYFAIR (1-877-929-3247).

Again, we're sorry for any frustration with this mismatch; this is the last thing we want to happen. But thank you for your patience.

Best regards,

The Sales and Service Squad

Yeah, I think you may be right, but it was a year or two ago and haven't seen it that low since. I've been watching, could be wrong though. I'm pretty sure it's the best price of 2011.

This thread is too muddled up to be relevant unless you follow it daily. I think it'd be good if we did a monthly HOT DEAL thread, much like the "Monthly Banger Meet" (4 Banger specific) threads on the HAMB. Here's a link to explain how it looks.

Basically every month we post up a thread. The index will be monthly threads rather than one huge monstrosity that suffers due to its length.

Does it seem like a decent idea to any of you? Does this proposition need its own thread?

You really only need to watch the past few days. Deals don't last long. So the fact that the thread is long doesn't really matter.

I would say, that if what you are saying has already been said, don't post.

We don't need 85 people giving up to the minute posts about "me too". Common sense should prevail.

The Hobart deal was sleeping with the fishes days ago. We really didn't need the last 20 odd posts as far as I'm concerned. Some hot deals should peel off to their own thread. Most don't need to. Maybe some better instructions on the first post.

The deals posted in this thread are generally worthless if not viewed within a day anyway. Actually, a lot of the best ones last hours at best.

If I haven't viewed the thread in a while, I don't even bother catching up on anything more than a day old.

For the life of me, I can't understand people's issue with scanning through one, maybe two pages of this thread. It's SO much faster and easier than it would be if each post was it's own thread in a dedicated forum, and you had to open each thread individually to read them and the comments. I guess some people are willing to sacrifice time for organization and I'm just not one of them.

The bottom line is that if you're looking more than ~2 pages back, in most cases, you're wasting your time because those deals are long dead.

The whole thing with the welder deal is that it popped back up. Some of us took this to mean that maybe it wasn't a false deal after all, because why in the world would they put the same error up twice in a row?? We still knew it was a long shot, but it's not like we scanned back a few pages and were regurgitating old information... today's conversation was based on new information that the welder was back in stock with the same name and price.

The funny thing is that for all the bitching that happens about discussions of deals, probably 20% of the posts in the last few weeks have come from people bitching about the discussion, only worsening the clutter they hate about this thread.

I just ordered the Wiha allen wrenches. That was a big gap in my tool box, I had a Snap On foldup metric set but I prefer the separate keys.
