Metric for sure, it's 8,10,12,13,14,15,17,18. That's a pretty good spread...

I'm trying so hard not to buy the crossforms, but I just don't know if they're worth it, literally, when will a 8-13mm ish bolt be so over torques i have the clearance to use a crossform.

Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself! Metric or SAE?

Snooping on Cripe, they have Bernzomatic Mapp Oxy kit WITHOUT fuel for $20, comments on other sites for a similar looking (Cripe is likely old stock) say its basic and oxy only lasts about 20 min, but a nice starter kit.

I think I am giving up on the Sears site, and will just stop in and maybe use the kiosk, or just skip the whole thing. Three or four days now I have been looking at 4 items, the two 5 pc boltouts, pry bars, and 12 pc nut drivers, and I've never been able to get them all at a reasonably close store for pickup.

If I were you I'de just forget about the kiosks and pickup-they are making things too hard for multiple stock picks--just stay home and order online-put things in your cart as you see them go cheap when you get the time--and get them delivered, why waste hours of your day, youv'e already lost more than you saved--your cart will update to the latest prices anyway

I was checking out that kit too. It looks like original price was around $100 for that kit. There are reviews on Amazon; people say they like it but some people damaged the tip by touching the work while brazing, and then said no replacement tips were available.

I had a bunch of small stuff ready to buy from Cripe, maybe $75 worth, but I couldn't quite get past the shipping estimate of $36 for that. I wasn't sure if maybe the actual shipping would be less than that estimate.

Went to Sears to pick up my right angle impact and drill. Low and behold, the Nextec 12V oscillating tool was on sale for $47.99. Comes with another battery and charger. Looks to be both online and in store:

I just got my invoice from WIHA for Cyber Monday deals order... $187 for $395 worth of tools. I checked the prices on Amazon and other places before ordering, and the WIHA specials were all $3 less or better.

Looks like a nice machine but I have to say my $20 Harbor Freight one works really well. I am not a huge fan of HF stuff but the $20 multi-tool they sell is really an amazing value. I have used it 20-30 times already and really like it. I would love to have this or the Fein if I used it daily but for lite use the HF is a winner.

A lot of people here have been happy with the USA polished wrenches, myself included. I also like that they're longer than the raised panel.

Part of what makes the RP stronger is that they're shorter and fatter with more metal everywhere.

My 15mm polished spread and started rounding a nut out on my top motor mount nut. Put a 15mm RP on it and it kept tightening it down.

13mm polished completely spread and a strut tower nut torqued @ 18 ft-lbs. Threw a RP on there and it took it right off.

When measured the open ends are roughly .2mm more than the RP's. That is huge and partly why they are rounding out.

What good is a longer wrench if it's not as strong and spreads? Answer: useless, but it looks good in your tool box .

As sarcastic as that was (not sure why) they are a great value and overlooked because of the lack of bling. It's funny, almost seems like tools have became man jewelry around here. For $3.50 a wrench up to 32mm and 1-5/16" available in a set, they don't have the toolbox status that others do but they get the job done at close to an import price level.

I have an early version of HF. I does get the job done, thought the blades would come to loose and I had to keep tightening it. Not very pleasant for a tough job...

Your experience is definitely an anomaly. Do a search for Craftsman Professional and do some reading about experiences of other people, especially the full time mechanics here who use those wrenches full time, for a living.

There are many people in this forum using USA-made Cman Pro wrenches, with good fit and good strength. There are also multiple posts showing contact points and play of Cman Pro versus other wrenches, and none align with your experience. I have both Cman RP and Cman Pro, and have put serious force on the open ends of both without any spreading or nut rounding.

If I buy a Honda and have a problem, and start posting "Honda's aren't reliable", it's not accurate. A more accurate statement would be "I bought a Honda and had a problem." You bought a set that set apparently had a problem. Based on the 100's of posts here praising Cman Pro, that indicates a bad batch, not a problem with the series.

And I'll second Stuey's recommendation for a separate thread for the topic, rather then continued insertion into every other thread.

Most of us here are with you as big fans of Cman RP wrenches, especially for the price. There's no need to constantly defend them.

I already had the 12-piece normal Wiha set, which I was happy with. I assumed these would be the same, only with the extra through-body metal and bolster. They're not. The BF/CM EHD set also has larger, stronger tips and shafts. As someone else posted, these will probably be the last screwdrivers I ever have to buy.

The $12 cutters are also impressive. I don't know COO, but they've easily cut through everything I've used them for this week.

You can see it by switching your store to one near 54915.

As far as I know, their pliers are now made in Vietnam. Still great quality in my opinion though.

I saw them for $19.98 online, then $9.98 in-store, and when I checked again it still said $19.98 online. This morning it changed over.

I also saw something amusing - the sockets that were $10 were listed as $30 online with a "was $10" notice. I LOLed.

I agree about the heavy duty screwdrivers. But you know, it's strange, I wasn't that impressed with the cutters. The package they came in said Made In Germany but nothing on the unit itself. Plus, they...well, they weren't loose but opened and closed a little too freely for my taste. The chrome on the inside was satin and not polished (and reddish in color in parts).

They're not bad certainly, and I'm glad they cut well for you, but I think the $12 price is a fair one for them. And to anyone interested, the $29.99 wrench set they had (up to 1-1/8") was no SnapOn clone-- not that I expected one.

I'm not sure what "imported and manufactured to Wiha spec" means exactly but based on my finding it sounds like what Stuey noticed the other day with the "made to USA standards" knife he saw at Home Depot or Lowe's.

Reminds me a bit of Pabst Blue Ribbon, dont they do something similar with their brew... except its from miller to Pabst specs if i recall.

They're Chinese pliers, but probably some of the better ones. Seem high quality, I've used one mini diagonal pliers a bunch of times and it seems great. No better assortment for the money IMO.

It's funny you say that, I bought that set (Kobalt 14-Piece Mini Pliers & Tweezers Set) for my 8 year old nephew for Christmas. Except I just paid $19.99 a couple days ago! I'll see if Lowes will give me the lower price in the store. Hm..actually I would just rather have another set, one for myself, like buy one get one free!

I'm sure the quality may be lacking for precision work, but 14 for $10 is hard to pass up. I might get a set to pick a few out of and gift the rest to a buddy.
