Started the '46 ford flattie and ordered some new lever action shocks for her. New Coker whitewalls will be ordered soon...when our spring thaw comes.

Re: What did you do to your garage today?

They Other Day I replaced My Future son in law's Badly worn rear brakes on his SUV.
One Pad had nothing and tore up the rotor.

Last night I tore into a Friends 2002 Hyundia Santa Fe to replace a Crank senser that was going bad (causing it to not start here and there).
Both the 4 banger and the 3.5 V6 have it behind the timing belt and the Crank Pulley.
After taking the front of the engine all apart (pass side)...Not There!
Because this Santa Fe has a 2.7 V6!!!
Its behind the starter shield and starter...
WHY, do engineers make different parts for different Engines, Years, models???
Anyway, got the right part and since I am at the timing belt, it needs to be changed anyway!
Looks like that is tonight!!!

Re: What did you do to your garage today?

I've done quite a few things this week in my garage. The other day I put my Vette on jackstands to begin the work that I want to do. I changed out the front rotors & pads, yesterday I started the rear brakes. I've been racking my brain on whether or not I want to do the exhaust work myself. I bought I bought headers, x-pipe & cats, it looks like it's going to be a pain especially since I need to cut the factory exhaust, but I think I'm going to go for it. I also plan on changing plugs & wires.

Tonight I became tired of using my Nexus as my radio, the speaker on this thing *****. I pulled out an old Onkyo receiver that I had from a few years ago and hooked that up. I thought that I was lucky that the PO left huge Kenwood speakers in the garage but it seems like only one is working, no wonder he left them. Luckily I bought new left & right speakers for my home theater, so I used my old one's in the garage now. My God what a difference, I wish that I had done it sooner. Now to go and get a connector so that I can use my phone to play Pandora on my receiver.

I put my computer monitor up on the side of a storage cabinet I built to get it off my work bench. The monitor stand is articulating and can angle down about 15 degrees.

Re: What did you do to your garage today?

I gave my '84 Subaru some love. All part of "catching up" on maintenance on this little car since purchasing it.

New rear wheel bearings, seals, brake cylinders, shoes, and treated the rear end to synthetic gear oil. Adjusters were torn apart and serviced. A bit of house cleaning as well. Backing plates were removed, blasted, and repainted. Drums got a fresh coat of caliper paint. Shocks were removed and repainted as well.

Its been a while since Ive had any dealings with drums. Had to remember a few things I had forgotten:willy_nil

Helped the original owner of a 1971 Datsun 240Z install a new fuel pump. Had to remove the aftermarket A/C Compressor and Compressor Mount first {a real pain} - Other than that it was a snap.

FWIW,

Painted the walls with eggshell on top and color matched blue/gray on the bottom, then layed down half the garage VCT.

WOW! I am most impressed with that Corvette Napa68 has in his garage. It looks very original. I am putting my Dart 540 BBC back together for another drag racing season. The Camaro this engine goes in does not look nearly as original as the Corvette. Did I mention how impressed I am with that Corvette?

Dug a hole, well two holes actually, one inside and one outside, and then mortared a section of PE pipe through the wall ready to accept my 16mm2 steel wire rmoured cable thats being layed in the next couple of days. One step nearer to getting power in my garage.

Had to lift the blue engineering bricks that form the floor and dig through the sand underneath inside.

I'm collecting used fittings from ebay etc as I need to do this on the cheap, new house, big mortgage, no money! Next step is to wire up the inside and then when we do the full re-wire on the house later this year it'll get connected to the supply. IU'll be running lights, a 240V ring main for power and a dedicated 16A supply for a compressor and another for my welder.

Layed pipe! Well pipe and cable) so I now have a cable from the house to the garage, now I need to wire up inside the garage and then get the other end connected to the supply.

Attempted to install an iSimple iPod dock in my Fusion and failed. iPod says it is connected to an accessory but the radio just says no signal (I was in my garage at the time). Lame... time to see how their support is.

Re: What did you do to your garage today?

I just finished cleaning up and painting my motorcycle trailer and posting it on CL. Bought it about 3 years ago to pull behind my Goldwing when my wife went on long trips with me. She liked the trailer idea but she like the idea of trailering the Goldwing behind the Lincoln on long trips and she's the BOSS!! I dont use it when I do trips without her so its up for sale. If anyone is interested Im asking $600 for it. It basically has 15 miles on it from when I first put it together and tested it. It has a Fiberglass enclosure with compression struts to open it! I replaced the flimsy plastic fenders with good steel ones its has leaf springs, 8" tires and a 1 7/8" hitch. Its basicially brand new paid $895 for it as a kit. So if your in the DC area and interested in it let me know.

Wired and mounted the (dirty--LOL) mirror. In my '70 Camaro,
It's out of a 2004 Impala
has the temp and compass.

Mounted the temp. sensor on the valance support

Is it just me or are half the posters in this thread misinterpreting the thread title?; "What did you do TO your garage today?" Not "What did you do IN your garage today???" :dunno:
